Can you live chat on here?

Did you have your surgery at Dartmouth? That's where I had my RNY on 4/24/17. I have a lot of respect for their program.

    Vsg & domestic abuse

You need to protect yourself. Call the police and report this physical abuse. If he doesn't agree to leave the marital home, you need to...put distance between you and him. The victim of domestic violence averages three attempts at leaving. Please seek counseling. Protect yourself.
  3. So, I am now 5 days post op. Feeling pretty darn good. Stopped pain meds three days ago. My fluid intake & exercise are where they need to be. Everything is great. EXCEPT, I can't [emoji90]. I have been taking Miralax for two days now and nothing. It's been five days...should I be worried? When do I call the doctor/nurse? We all [emoji90][emoji90], so I appreciate your sharing.
  4. Hi all. I had my RNY on 4/24/17. Started back to work this week (fortunate to have been able to take as much time as I needed). This morning I am shaking and feeling very different. I had some yogurt for breakfast, but now I feel worse. What is up with the shaking? Anyone else have this?

Vermont. Did you have your surgery at Dartmouth? I had my RNY there on 4/24

Why do I feel suicidal ?

You went through a lot to have the surgery. You had the surgery for yourself, because you deserve it. Like what everyone else has said about hormones, your body recovering from MAJOR surgery, give yourself time to heal. It does get better. I'm completing 5 weeks post op, and I feel pretty darn good. Reach out to your family, tell them how you feel. Glad you are seeing your therapist. Wishing you only the best!

    A confession at 16 weeks

Tomorrow is a new day! 1300 calories is A LOT BETTER than 3000. You're going to continue to do great. A blip in the radar. [emoji51]

    I'm lost

Look into Unjury Protein. It is 100 calories per scoop with only 3 grams of sugar. Use skim milk and the total shake is 180 calories. Tastes great.

5 weeks post op bruise ?

I am 4 weeks post op and my stomach looks like a battlefield. From the surgery to the heparin shots...just part of the journey.

    Nosey co workers

The Leave forms are to be completed by the doctor. They cannot ask what the surgery is, but will ask general questions as it pertains to your ability to do your job. Again, HIPPA laws.

    Fiber?

I am starting my 4th week post op. Since week one, I have been using Miralax. I put it in my hot tea every morning. Until my diet allows for veggies, this has been working great. Try it.
  15. Happy Mother's Day! Today I'm finishing up my third week post op. This week was extremely sad as I lost a very close friend suddenly/tragically. The emotional stress set me back days. I definitely know my trigger for mindless eating and had it not been for this surgery, I would have eaten my weight in Smartfood Popcorn. So today I am measuring my success not by the numbers on the scale, but by acknowledging my trigger and finding alternate solutions. Just curious how others mark their success. HW 254 SW. 239 GW 150

    Not hungry, worried about protein

The best protein powder I found (and I love it) is Unjury. This was recommended by my hospital. I found that the chocolate my favorite!

    Too big of a bite

I would love to join your group! I had my RNY 4/24/17, so my journey has just started. Looking for some buddies. I am also on Fitbit. Looking forward to hearing from you!

    Presurgery diet

The sole purpose of the pre op diet is to shrink and soften the liver to allow the surgeon to move the organ without damaging it. When you think you can't do the diet, remember the purpose. Surgeons have not gone through with surgeries on patients who didn't follow the diet. And then you're SOL. You can do it!
  20. Thanks! I'll give my doctor a call on Monday! Here's hoping to healthy [emoji90][emoji90] for everyone!

    Pre op diet

9 pounds in 10 days. The pre-op diet was a very low calorie, no fat diet. It wasn't that bad.

    3 Days Post Op!!!!

I had my bypass on 4/24. No pains in the hospital, but some here at home. When I drink, I can feel spasms. Anyone else?
  23. I echo the comments of the others! I have my surgery 4/24/17. I am so ready! Keep up the great work!
