I think it was a total rip off. LOL I could have read the manual and then if I had ?'s I could have asked them. The reason I feel like it was a rip off as I went thru the class and my hubby went thru it with me. That was July 2, 2013. Then in Sept of 2013. We had to pay another $500 for him to go thru it. I also went thru it with him. It was exactly the same manual. Bummer deal if you ask me. Oh well, its all done now. They sure can't take it back, can they. LOL

We had to pay 300 dollars one time fee for lifetime support. So if we ever need to go back to them for nutrition advice and help it is always there, and support groups are included in there. I live 2 and a half hours away so the support group part really does me no good, unless I could go early in the day.

Still in a lot of pain since my surgery on Wednesday morning. Staying in hospital for one more night and hopefully getting discharged in the morning pending how well I'm coping with the pain.

Anyone have advice on dealing with Pain? Does it get better by day 3?

It may be gas pains from when you had the surgery, All everyone has said is walk it off. Do a few laps around the hospital and see if that helps you any. Also ask your nurse for a heating pad. I heard that helps too. My surgery is next Thursday on the 30th. Only thing I am worried about is the gas pain afterwards.

Hey guys had surgery yesterday. The pain is bad and I’m not able to get enough of the liquid. So they keeping me another day. Even though I’m having these pains I don’t regret this at all! Happy to be on the loser bench

Hey Mary! Walk walk walk! It is probably from the gas. Speedy recovery!

  4. I have not had surgery yet, Mine is Nov 30th....so I cant speak from a place where someone has already had surgery but I can speak from the point of view from the pre op.

I personally think it all comes down to self discipline. You don't NEED to snack between or eat the jolly ranchers, you WANT to do it so you do it and instead of grabbing the candy, grab something healthier. I am sure everyone goes through this pre-op, but after surgery it is up to you to use your new tool to your advantage and follow the guidelines to make sure you lose the weight. At the end of the day, we are not going through all of this and taking all this time to slip back into old habits, which I understand can happen...but you are still fresh, so you still have time to correct this behavior. Stop sabotaging yourself, and get back on track.

  5. As the post said above, I would look into a nutritionist. When I was in the early stages of going for my surgery, I had to pay 300 dollars for lifetime support if I need it, I am not sure if that is offered everywhere. It is still not to late to reel yourself back in! Count your calories and food and look into leslie sansone! Her exercises are on youtube and I have been using them since I started this and I am down almost 100 on my own before surgery. You just have to stay dedicated! I know it is hard, but exercise at night when the kiddos are in bed if you have to!

Yes, it was heavy, I've tried the pill and an IUD prior to my surgery but both didn't work out for me. I just deal with the heavy flow, but I never experienced the dizziness until after surgery with this first period post-op, which scared me.

I manage my heavy flow and cramps with boiling Water, and add cinnamon and a few drops of honey for taste. Cinnamon has properties in it to shrink the blood vessels and slow up the bleeding. It works for me all the time...or drink Organic apple cider vinegar with the mother in some room temp water about 2-3 times a day while I am on my period. The cinnamon may be quicker to help you. My mother also has heavy bleeding and I have her on this too and it helps her. You may also want to talk to you doc about checking your for anemia...Losing all the blood..you need to get on some Iron to build your blood count.

  8. It took me awhile to even get my hours in for my insurance to approve for me to keep the machine anyway! After I got my hours in..sadly I stopped using it. My surgeon says I need to bring it for the day of surgery so I guess I will be using it then. I did sleep better when using it to be completely honest,I have the mask that goes over my nose..and I called the other day to get a new mask and he told me I had to get re authorized by insurance. Sooo thats out the question. I would say keep trying it though! You may get use to it. I am going to start using mine again!

I'm struggling with this. I found out my surgery date (11/28) on Thursday and was told to start my pre-op diet the next day. I wasn't mentally prepared for that and I haven't been able to grocery shop. So I pretty much decided I would start Saturday and was doing great until dinner time in which case I blew it. So tomorrow I jump back in and try this again....I have come so far I will NOT fail now!

Keep pushing through! You know what the end result will be! You got this!

I also use bariatric advatage but, my Dr didn't allow me to use them until I was one month post op. I also take Noscabel which is a B12 inhaler (prescription needed). My insurance company pays for it with a $20 a month co pay.

Thank you, I was also thinking of the inhaler or a shot even though I hate needles it is once a month.

I was sleeved yesterday. I was great walked no pain. I felt nauseous 1x & they gave me meds for that. Today had the barium test so they could see if any leaks. Since then feeling kinda blah. I'm supposed to be sipping 1 oz of Water each hr my stomach cramps up with it something terrible. I had dry heaves earlier today. I'm starting to swell up & they changed the Fluid bag to something without sugar because my sugar went up to 177 & it's normally low 90's. The cramping in my stomach feels like it's seizing up. I keep walking walking walking hoping that goes away. I'm also freezing most of the time & I'm rarely cold

I read somewhere that the cramps may come from the liquid being too cold or too hot. Have you tried room temp Water?

Up and down like a snail is a good analogy. I was told to drink 3 Protein drinks a day once I get home. I do what I can. I feel like if I don't I'm only starving myself and that's no good. I don't know if you're going through this but my incisions do not like to have clothes on them. Is that weird? I can have a pillow up against it, but that's it, so that's something at least. Ice helps but after a while drives me nuts. Other than that I feel great. Beatrice (what I call my new tool) hasn't been giving me too much hassle, so that's a plus. I'm so glad I did this.

My surgery is in less than 2 weeks and I was worried about the incisions and clothing as well! I hope I can have some sweats on or pajama pants atleast lol. Beatrice! lol I laughed when I read that. I will have to name mine as well.:lol:
