    November sleevers

The nurse in my class the other day told us that it is okay not to get all of your fluids in the first couple weeks as long as you sip sip sip throughout the day and try and make sure you stay hydrated.
  2. I feel for everyone that has to do a liquid diet! Omg! I have pretty much been on my pre op diet since April, because I had alot to lose anyway and was on a 1500 Cal diet the whole time. Everyone stick to the plan, fight the urges because I know it is hard! You are almost at the finish line to get your surgery!

    December Sleevers??

From what I was told, your regular meds will resume the following morning after your leak test is done. I am unable to take any of my routine meds. o.o. You may want to confirm that with your doctor.

New here new to the journey

Welcome! I think a lot of us have learned to keep it from certain people. Some people are judgemental and do not understand what a battle it is we go through! Keep on pushing!!
  6. I joined this forum back in April of this year! I have not posted much, but I have been lurking and soaking up as much information as I could. In April I started out with a Surgeon that requested that I lose 60 pounds, and I kept the office updated on my progress. Once the weight was lost I called relentlessly to get a answer from the front desk so I could get scheduled for my endoscopy....I was giving the run around. Long story short, My cousin had just had the surgery and she was talking about how great her surgeon was. (Mine and hers were under the same hospital umbrella) I called to see if I could switch to the one she had, which took a little while because surgeons don't not like to take patients from their partners basically. Anyways...He took my as his patient and I could not be more happy! He did my endo..and biopsy and I had gastritis, so got medication for that and then he requested that I lose another 25 pounds . I was discouraged, but i knew it was for my own good. I lost the 25 and when I started my journey in April I was 560 pounds. I am now 473 and which leaves me around 87 pounds lost on my own in 7 months! I never thought it was possible to do so. My addiction to food was severe. I would have rather get some ice cream and cake than socialize with the outside world before. Now I get out a lot more and have fun and I haven't had the surgery yet but I feel like I will succeed in staying on track because I have the discipline. Don't get it twisted though...in those 7 months I had about 3 slip ups to where i gained 5 or 6 back and got it off again. My pre- admission testing is Thursday and my surgery date is Dec 6th and my stomach is in knots everyday just waiting for the day. This forum has been a life saver! Everyone here that has taking the step to your new life are the real MVPs!!!

    Tomorrow’s My Big Day

Wishing a speedy recovery!! Come back and update us!
  18. Usually if you have done things before actually seeing the Surgeon it counts. My primary doctor had me on the 6 months diet as soon as met with him and all that counted for when I went to meet the surgeon last month. Good Luck.

    Almost there....

    Lmao@nobody cares. Congrats..You are close...You can Doooetttt!
  20. Okay So I went to see my Surgeon March 30th. He gave me a pre-op diet to follow for a month because of my high BMI. April 13th I went to weigh in to check progress and I had lost 18 pounds in 2weeks! I was excited because I only have 40 more to lose before I get my endoscopy and my date. However, I don't feel like I have lost anymore and I have been doing the same thing as I was doing when I lost the 18. I exercise but Im limited to some things. Should I try and do more? My surgeon is leaving the current facility in a month or 2 and going to a new one where they aren't so proficient in bariactric surgery so I don't want to have surgery there, so I'm trying to lose all I have to now before he leaves.
