Are you really surprised? I like this forum but there are quite a few arrogant, self righteous posters who stick their heads and opinions on a lot of posts because to them "they are right"! [emoji849] those people (probably know who they are) are the worst! That being said you can't take everyone seriously lol but I get where your coming from

I give Mama June a lot of credit for doing this journey so publicly...unlike most of us she has an agent and personal trainer. Her daughters did nothing to support her...They sat and ate cheese pops and garbage. Who was buying them this stuff...I'm glad June finally woke up with the help of trainer and cleaned the garbage out of the house... she had a deadline to meet for the skin removal surgery and she missed it...she was only human. She put the had work in to get the skin removal surgery...I hope she is able to keep the weight off cause I know when I get to my my goal weight ..I have the support of friends and family. Like most of us. I think we know this isn't a quick fix... we have to change our habits

Not sure who posted this recipe; however, I have been requested to post it again - so here you go (and thanks to the original poster!)

    RICOTTA BAKE:

1 ? 15 oz. Container of low fat Ricotta
1 frozen pkg. of spinach thawed/drained (squeezed) well - you can also use any veggies (e.g., zucchini and/or eggplant and saut? till soft)
1 C Parmesan cheese (split in 1/2) (Use the fresh grated from the grocery store, the stuff in the can is too dry)
    1 egg

Mix all together - except for 1/2 C of parmesan -- put in a baking dish ? (I used a 1 quart size) add another ? C of cheese on top and bake @ 350 till golden & bubbly - about 30mins
Add marinara or pesto sauce on top once done.
    Reheats quite nicely!

    DESSERT:

1 15oz container of low fat Ricotta
1 small tub of Fat Free Cool Whip
? package of SF Jell-O (instant) cheesecake pudding mix
? package of SF Jell-O (instant) chocolate pudding mix

Combine all ? let set overnight ? ENJOY.

I miss gulping or drinking an entire bottle of Water too -- I still can't do that -- I can take larger sips than when first out of surgery; however, I think the gulping days are over. As for the pain, take smaller sips -- that is how I could tell when I was ready for larger sips - there was no pain - if there was pain, I reverted to smaller swallows and tried again a week later. The additives, too, are a good idea. Lipton makes a bunch of flavors that contain Splenda instead of aspartame and they do seem to satisfy the thirst more - not sure why either.

oh goodie! I was just going to go on a search for the much mentioned ricotta bake. Thanks Angel. The dessert looks good too. Of course everything in the world looks and sounds good to me right now. The idea of chewing something is just so extraordinary. Meanwhile, I really miss being able to drink Water in gulps. That may sound strange but I just love water and I cant seem to get enough this way and am feeling thirsty even though I am sure I am getting a total of at least 50-60 ounces of liquid a day. I think I am taking small sips but I get the same pain you described right between the sha shans and then feel like I have to burp. any ideas? THank you!

I use a baby spoon to eat with and only eat 3.5 oz at a time. If that settles and is good and I want more, and feel like I can eat more, then I do. Most of the time that is enough. Sleeved 3/16/17.

I was sleeved on 3/1 and had no problem with the liquid diet, but my 1st day on soft foods (3/15) was horrible. I tried a little chicken salad and wasn't able to keep it down. Any chicken is still a definite NO for me. I'll be able to eat regular foods next week, but I'm scared to have anything but tuna, boiled eggs, and Greek yogurt since I know I can keep those down and they are high in Protein.

If you are a week post sleeve surgery, you are probably cleared for puddings, Jello, creamed Soups, cottage cheese, ricotta cheese. I was sleeved on 3/31, 1 week today, and I do feel like I am hungry at times. I also dont feel much restriction yet. I can easily eat a 5.3 oz. greek yogurt without a problem. Last night I made Ricotta bake and ate about 5 bites and couldnt eat any more. I try switching it up, between shakes, broths, creamed soups, jello, popsicles, cottage cheese, anything for a change.

It's hard to stay on the liquid diet, pre op. I was able to do it for about 1 1/2 weeks and then I started gagging on the Protein Drink. If you're going to eat food, try to make the best choices - high Protein and low carbs. Now, I am 4 days post op and am on the clear liquid phase. I'm having no issues at all with wanting real food! I'm not hungry and I'm actually struggling to get all my liquids in. You can do this!

It is a tough place to be in, BUT it does not last forever. Know that, and know that your head may say you are hungry, that real food is all you obsess about, but you also know you wanted change , so allow that to happen. You can only hold so much right now and you want to heal correctly, so it is to your long term benefit to follow the rules for your own sake and health. We all got in this position because we couldn't learn to say no to our wants and desires for the most part. But it is a new day, and you will not die from hunger, your body will adapt and so will you. Good Luck.

I have no advice, just know i feel EXACTLY the same way. I want to lose weight, so I have no intention of binging on a whole large pizza. But the fact that I can't have it even if I wanted to is making me feel very trapped and like I made a mistake.

Definitely head hunger. It sucks but you have to push through. I had to just remove myself from the room. Or just not look. It gets better. Once you start eating real food or close to it it'll ease up a lot.

Had the SIPS procedure last Friday (3/17). Everything on my Facebook feed screams "food!" We have family helping us out and they brought my boys some pizza for supper. The smell was almost too much, I wanted a piece so badly! Then I got angry thinking "What have I done with myself? I have taken away this wonderful thing called stuffing my face" I know it sounds horrid. I know I needed to change. But that monster reared it's ugly head and then I started thinking of how much I would love McDonald's, and Pork rinds, and all these things I want right now. Which I wouldn't eat. But I felt angry, and sad, and irritated that I couldn't just eat what I wanted right then. What the heck is wrong with me? Is this head hunger?

I was too unsure about watching but I have too watched all the shows. I thought for someone who has had the surgery or thinking about it that it was great. It really shows you a much bigger picture. Many people think you have the surgery and there your are thin again and in a tiny bathing suit. That's not it at all. It showed that battle and continued struggle to not go back to poor eating habits and how important family support is and how hard it is for others to understand what your going through. Also for those who think of additional surgery with loose skin, just how clearly painful that is. Of course for her this transformation was a job too so how much pressure was that and what emotional stress that must have added. I'm sure in most cases they don't do that much skin surgery that fast and all together. I'm sure she was in extreme pain. However, I was proud of her and I think she knows her journey is forever and I really wish her the best and pray that she can stay strong and continue to fight the food cravings. We all know that's an extremely hard lifetime battle we are all fighting.

I watched the series and think it did a great job portraying WLS- she made her Protein Shakes and fixed dinner for her kids- showed her food addiction, even going to a support group for it (after surgery) this is no easy fix and it showed that people battle food issues in their life. The body lift surgery pain- that one got me- and depression of changes... yep- I was not a Honey Boo Boo fan, but liked this one- it's a reality show- but for what it was- it did a decent job. I will just say the comment about her legs and arms.... weightloss surgery doesn't make your body look like a models... everyone is different. She is healthier!

I watched the whole show. She busted her butt with trainers and worked hard to lose the weight. Everyone that knows nothing about surgery thinks it's the easy way out regardless of shows about it. I'm super proud of her for doing it. She lost 300 pounds!! Her starting weight was 460. She looks amazing just unfortunately her extra skin on her lower arms can't be helped. She still has it on her legs. The show shows all of her struggles, even regaining and making poor food choices when she was stressed. It showed the ups and downs we all face and how hard she had to work to make that weight actually come off. Now the real question, can she keep it off because that's the real challenge.
