  6. Hello I'm a newbie here!!! I joined for the support...I had my endoscopy on 4/3/17 and was told I have a hiatal hernia and it can be repaired during my sleeve surgery. I'm so terrified that I'm thinking about cancelling everything. Can anyone give some helpful insight on what's going on or what to expect..... Help 😐

Oh my, sorry to hear that I hope all is well with you. What is a spirometer? @Nulife16 I know everyone is different but I'm almost having second thoughts about this.

oh no!! It was my fault for not following instructions to the T. An incentive spirometer helps you to take deep breathes after surgery. Since after u deal with some discomfort so you don't take as deep a breath.

I am about 10 weeks out and I feel great!! I am not losing what I hoped but in 2 months I lost 40lbs and I never could have done it without doing this surgery. Most I lost in a month was 10lbs. You would not have started the process if you did not feel this was a solution or help to get healthy. It's tough but being overweight is a lot tougher. Good luck whatever you decide.

  7. I am pre-op and going thru the same thing. He keeps telling me that I just need to tone up my stomach. When we started dating I was 216lbs and now I'm at 263lbs. He keeps telling me I can't do it and how I will miss eating out with him and how he want support me. Whatever!!! I have chosen to continue my journey I was told I should get a surgery date in May. I'm doing this for me, my mom passed two years ago when she was 48 years YOUNG, from complications of being over weight and I refuse to let obesity win in my life. Girl you look good and reading your story inspired me more. Don't give up and don't let negative comments from No One discourage you. Keep Going!!!
