Exactly 100lbs down from surgery date! (10 months post-op with pics)
congratulations, you look fantastic. I was noticing that you don't have a lot of sagging skin. Are you exercising a lot? Also, how many grams of protein do you think you eat in a day? Do you still do the shakes or do you find protein in other sources of food? Sorry about all the questions but I have hit a stall and any help you give me would-be great. Did you hit stalls along the way?

Anyone lose more than 50lbs in this age group (over 60) ?
Thank you for the good ideas. I completely forgot about cottage cheese. I'm going to get some of that and some shrimp. Yum!

Anyone lose more than 50lbs in this age group (over 60) ?
Thank you so much. I'm going to try the deviled eggs for sure. I think I also need to stop weighing myself every single day. It's just that I've been stuck at the same weight for about 5 weeks. I think I need to increase my protein intake too. Do you eat the 60 g of protein a day? do you drink a lot of water? I don't. May I ask how you did it? I'm 8 months post o.o and stalled at 50 for about 5 weeks. What was your diet and exercise routine? Thanks

You're journey sounds similar to mine. I'm 61, had surgery 9/23/16 but I'm currently 191. You've lost about 19 pounds more than me. I've hit a stall. Any tips? What does your typical diet and exercise routine look like? I'm thinking I need to increase protein and water. Any tips will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

New Adventures
Thanks for getting back-to me. I think I need to increase my protein and water intake. That is going to be my goal this week. I've been at a style for a couple of weeks. Perhaps this will help

down 216 pounds!
Thanks so much for getting back to me. I really appreciate your input. You are so right, this is not an easy way out. It takes work, commitment and determination. I am 7 months out and I've been stalled for a few weeks now. I went to the nutritionist last week and she said I'm not eating enough protein and also my calorie intake is too low. I bought some premier protein boxes and I'm hoping that helps. There are 30 grams of protein in each drink box. I also upped my exercise. Do you eat 6 small meals a day? I don't but I will try doing that and see if it helps. Good luck with your journey. Wishing you continued success.

6 months post-op and only 10lbs from my goal!!!
Thank you so much for sharing your tips with me. I feel as though my weight loss has been pretty slow. I am continuing to lose, but very slowly. I hope your daughter is ok. That must be very very stressful. Wishing you and her all the best. Thanks again

2 things: exercise and protein
I had my surgery in September of 2016. I have lost 44 pounds to date. I know many people have lost much more than this. I think the main problem is that I have not been very good about exercising. Is there anyone out there that began their exercise routine five or six months after surgery? I'm wondering if it is too late? I suppose it is never too late to begin exercising. Also, How much protein do most of you eat in a day? I'm wondering if I'm not getting enough protein. Would increasing the protein help me lose more?
