  1. Hi I was wondering if I was eating too much protein? I am 4 weeks post op. My doctor said get between 60 and 80 g of protein with protein shakes. But I haven't been given a list of calories or how much protein is too much. What has everyone else heard?
  2. The second I started my soft food diet I lost 5 pounds in 3 days. Can't wait to see what the next few weeks hold. I joined a gym today [emoji4]
  3. Same exact thing happened to me! 19 pounds first two weeks then nothing for two weeks, THEN I lost 5 pounds in the last 3 days!
  4. Thank you everyone for being there through the stall. I am finally out of it and after two weeks of no weight loss I lost 5 pounds in 3 days!!! It really is true, I can finally breath and hopefully be prepared for the next one that comes along.
  5. Yea I weigh everything too but I don't want to force myself. Sometimes I think I am full before the amount I am supposed to eat and my doctor says watch for the cues. I am not sure how to know.
  6. Believe me it gets easier! The first two weeks you think how can I get everything in!?! You start to listen to your body and get the timing down. I know I pretty much do something every two hours, protein shake-eat-protein shake- repeat until the day is up.
  7. Hi all! I am still struggling with identifying the "full" feeling. I start to get what feels like gas to be and/or I have to burp and I stop. I am 4 weeks post op and I was just bumped from 2oz of protein to 3oz and I am stopping before the 3 which I know is ok. I have a big fear of stretching my stomach. Was hoping others can share how they know they are full. Thanks
  8. It's so hard! I'm sad and frustrated. I read countless stories of people my size losing double in this amount of time. I just don't know what I could be doing differently.....
  9. I was sleeve on 3/29 and I am down 20 pounds. I have only lost 1 pound in the last two weeks which is hard. I too have not really started incorporating fruits or veggies because I barely get in my two ounces of protein. I start soft food today. I struggle because I would much rather drink than eat. It's hard to set aside 45 minutes of not drinking. The 30 minutes after eating is like torture for me. I love not having the desire to eat. I know this is a slow journey but I am just looking forward to this stall ending!
  10. Sub butter for light olive oil and add unflavored protein powder. I also added a little light sour cream to a serving to thicken it up.
  11. I am so confused thinking about the next stage. I get things have to be soft but my team says protein first then vegetables. How is everyone making recipes and doing the protein first? I am really interested in everyone's go to or favorite stage 3 foods. Thanks so much!
  12. I have bcbs federal and my doctor and his staff were very clear that if I gained any weight during any of the weigh ins that I would have to start my 3 months over. I would suggest calling bcbs. They are very helpful. I was able to talk to them about my surgery questions. I think it would easy your mind to know the straight forward answer.
  13. Thank you. I am having a really really hard time with this. I will be 4 weeks post op in two days. I have not lost a pound in two weeks!? How is that possible? I don't understand it. I get that there would be stalls but not like this and not so soon. I am so discouraged. I feel like I am doing something wrong.
  14. I had the same issue! I have been ambiem taker for years but I after the surgery I had to crush it and it no longer worked. I went to the doctor and got a sublingual ambiem which helped. Just hitting the one month mark and able to take pills and the ambiem is working perfectly.
  15. I just was wondering what everyone heard as for when they could go swimming. I don't know if I was told and I was wondering how long I should wait?
  16. Hey all! I am 3 weeks post op and I was wondering when everyone's energy comings back??? I get up and do things each day by feel like I am dying and want to get back on the couch. I'm not sure if I am pushing myself to do to much or if this is just normal. I'm only doing everyday activities. Just wondering what others experiences are and when their energy comes back. Thanks!
  17. Thank you for your amazing comment! I decided to weigh myself max two times a week. I think that will take some stress off me. I saw the doctor today for my first post-op appointment at the three week mark. i'm excited for what the next few months hold.
  18. That is just what happen to me! It is not just the grit of the shake, I actually don't like the flavor any more. I bought unflavored protein but I can still taste it and it's gross! I now have a shelf full of protein powder I can't drink. I also am having so much trouble with my multi vitamin, all of a sudden I get sick to my stomach after chewing it. I wonder if after a while it will change again??
  19. Thank you so much. I really appreciate hearing that. I just wanted to know I am not alone. That feeling of maybe this is going to work for me i think will be in the back of my mind for a while but it won't be for a lack of trying!
  20. I was 300 on 3/29 and as of today I am 283. I understand that is a good weight loss but it was almost all the first week. It's hard only seeing a few pounds off in two weeks.
  21. I was sleeved 3 weeks ago and I am struggling emotionally. I want to be realistic about weight loss but I have been getting very down about the lack of weight loss. The last two weeks the scale has barely moved and the last two days it went up. I have not cheated, not one single drop. I want this so bad but I have this feeling I am not going to be successful like all the stories I read, and not for a lack of trying. Am I the only one? Even as I say it I know it sound unrealistic but it's a feeling I can't shake. I'm struggling and was hoping maybe felt the same way before or had some advice.
  22. I actually have these in my fridge! Someone gave me them and said they are gross so I was afraid to try it lol. Do you like it?
  23. I always did the powder but I've had a few premade that I liked pre-surgery. Now I like nothing. Mostly the flavors, everything just tastes wrong. Going out tomorrow to try the premier and crossing my fingers. They gave me one type in the hospital that I absolutely loved and I took a sip of it today and I almost spit it out it was so gross... they weren't lying about your taste changing.
  24. Thank you all! I haven't done any meat yet. I'm not really sure how to do cook it that is is not dry and the thought of puréed meat turns my stomach. How are you preparing it?
