    3 months update

Congrats to you. Keep up the good work.
  3. Yes, I too have pain in both knees. According to my othepedic the weight is causing the discomfort in my joints. I'm hoping to lose a few pounds during pre op. And relieving some of the pressure. I will be attending the first phase of WSL next week. I can't hardly wait.
  4. Some people just don't like to see others succeed in life. And some things aren't meant to be shared, even with best friends. Keep your head up high and celebrate every pound lost.
  5. You look great. Amazing. I can't wait to have WLS hopeful soon. Keep up the good work.
  6. You look great at 58. I'm 58 and will be having WLS hopeful within the next few months. I'm scheduled to attend orientation on 4/27 at Kaiser Hopsital in Richmond. I am so looking forward to this new journey. Congrats to you.
  7. So tell me, how was the eval??? Did you feel uncomfortable or nervous? Did you have to complete any assessment test? I'm not looking forward to it. I heard a few horrible stories.

I ratherdo full liquid diet pre op. Thank way you don't have to think about it. Just drink it.
  12. I just can't wait until next week to go to orientation. So tell me what's involved and how long will it take to have the surgery done. How many classes are required to attend? What type of test(s) will take place? I'm sorry, but I am really excited and anxious to know and looking forward to a life style change.
  13. Nice to know. I'm scheduled to have my WLS at the Richmond location.

    Did your blood work improve?

Wow. This is very encouranging to hear so many excellents results after WFS. I am so looking forward to having the procedure done. I'm in the early stage. My first class will be next Thursday, April 27th. I can hardly wait. I too have blood issues. I'm currently taking BP meds, have very bad joint discomfort in both knees due to arthritis, diabetic controlled with diet. It's my hope that these problems will go away after surgery. There's truly a light at the end of the tunnel.
  17. I'm still going through the process of attending various classes, psy eval, nutritionist, etc. I'm scheduled to attend a 4 1/2 hrs orientation on April 27th....I can hardly wait. I plan to have Gastric bypass (RYN). Here's my thought....do what makes you feel comfortable. But at the same time be honest to yourself as well as others. I have always been a private person. My husband was the first to know. He is soooo supportive in my decision. He loves me the way I am, but will support me in what ever I decide to do. I talk to people on my job as well as church members. I also talk to people who had the WLS just to get an ideal of what to expect. If you're concern what people say or think...not good. As my 9yrs old grandson once told me, people will talk about you for life. Very true statement. So for me, If people ask how I did it, my response will be...I had the WLS to assist me in getting back on track with a healthy eating program. The new me will not allow me to keep it a secret. So I'm going to tell everyone who wants to know. Food for thought.
  18. I'm a private person. However, I decided not to be so private in letting people know what I've decided to do. I'm still going through the process of attending various classes, meeting with psy to do eval, speaking with nutritionist, etc. Here's my thought...the more information I gather and hearing others who has gone through WLS, the better inform I am. My husband was the first to know. He is very SUPPORTIVE in so many ways. And frankly, he's all that matters. As my 9yrs old grandson told me once, people will talk about you no matter what.....Besides I care less what people think or say about me. So I'm telling everyone I know.
  19. Well I'm still going through the process like classes, psy eval and nutrition. So I have some time before WLS. However, I did review a few post in the 50+ age group and there were several people who experience the same thing after surgery. I had knee surgery many years ago appx 16yrs ago and had numbness in my right thigh. Todate, my thigh still gets numb from time to time.

    Still in shock

OMG...sorry to hear that you went in for one procedure and woke up to another. Just look at it on the brighter side. I'm sure it will happen. It's just been delayed. Hang in there.
  21. Well Hello, Wow....I'm not sure why, but I expected the opposite. This whole process seem to be taking such a long time. Last month I attended an intro class. I'm scheduled to attend orientation on 4/27 and it's taking forever for this day to come LOL. I guess I'm too anxious to move forward at such a high speed. So tell me, how has your journey been thus far? I plan to go with RYN.
