Mrsa got a reaction from LaLa Ladybug in What was the biggest surprise for you at or after surgery? What do you wish you had known?
Also, I had a few moments of sheer panic of "Why did I do this; what have I done to myself?!?" It always came after a nap. I'd wake up and for a split second forgotten I had surgery and then when I remembered, the panic would come. I could talk myself down but prepare for a few moments of "Whyyyyyy". It has subsided now. [emoji4]. For now. 🤞🏼

    100% agree with this!

Also, I never thought about how hard it would be to maneuver in the bed. For the first two nights, it was very hard to find a comfortable position and even harder to try to change the position. I was too scared to sleep in my recliner because of the fear of blood clots. (I have a clotting disorder) I'm 5 days post-op and am finding it much easer to get comfortable now.

Easy there trigger. That's a lot of absolutes and assumptions out there, and although caution is always advised, testing with any new thing to consume is always good. "Sabotage your entire surgery?" Where the hell do you get your information? I notice you didn't say HOW it was supposed to accomplish this ""SABOTAGE!"". Don't fear-monger.

You also make an assumption about calories. True for some choices, but not all. I drink a bourbon on the rocks (top shelf Knob Creek) maybe twice a week since week 7. Do your research on bourbon, scotch, and tequila. (I'm not going there for a long while) I started with ONE TINY SIP. waited a full hour for my staples to magically and hysterically melt, violent vomiting, a new addiction to alcohol, and a trip to the ER. None of that happened. Not even nausea. Nicely the bourbon lasts longer. Strangely, my favorite brand Dewars has completely changed taste in my mouth, and I have to go way high quality for a smooth taste experience.

Avoid absolutes that come from YOUR medical, NUT, and doctor choices.

What scares me a bit is I hear people refer to this as the "honeymoon" stage. If this is the honeymoon, I want a divorce!! It's such a mental game, especially for those of us who have a food addiction. I see people eating and I just crave whatever they have. It's such a hard addiction because we HAVE to have it to survive and we HAVE to be around it, unlike drugs. It's like telling a person with a drug addiction: here have just a lick while we full-on participate. [emoji15] (Not to make light of drug addiction) oh well! We can do this! [emoji173]️

I had surgery 6/29 and have been doing very well. Can drink fine. Can finish a whole Protein Shake in a half hour. But, darn I'm hungry. I cannot stop thinking of things I'd like to eat. I imagine myself taking bites of the foods. Facebook and commercials are killing me. Is anyone else extremely hungry? I mean, I've even thought - for half a second- what would happen if I took a bite of that cheese in the fridge. . Now, of course I won't.....but I thought it!

OMFG, I don't even know how to write this all down. It's such a blur. See, I've lived my life hiding for years. I hated my body so I hid in my house or just by not putting myself out there. Anyway, I'm so far on my journey now, I'm wearing size 10 jeans (I'm still 177 lbs folks. So for all of you who look at "plateau's" as horrible things just remember this. I've been at 177 lbs for over a month or more now but I've dropped almost 3 sizes. Because I'm working out, building muscle and reshaping my body) and I have been feeling pretty good about myself.

My friend invited me to go to a going away party for one of her friends. My friend is about 10 years younger than me. Not an issue but is relevant as all her friends are 10 to 20 years younger than me. So we get to this party and roll in. I'm feeling good, I spent a lot of years partying so I am completely comfortable in this setting regardless of the ages and I feel more relaxed and at ease than I have in years because I'm so much smaller and feel more socially average.

Anyway, I'm just having a blast. I'm joking around, doing my thing. After a few hours my friend pulls me aside and says "Do you realized you have about 8 guys all trying to get with you tonight and then there is that other guy who's done nothing but circle around you??" I was FLOORED. Seriously? Me? The 42 year old woman when there are about 30 young, barely dressed girls in there 20's all over the place?? WHAT??? And she was like "No, you're f**king hot and don't realize it! You could nail at least 5 of these guys right there and that other guy would take you home in a second!"

lol! The ego boost was PHENOMENAL! I think I'll ride high on this for years. One german exchange student kid in college just straight up came up to me and asked me what it would take to go home with him. I told him it would take him being at least 10 years older cause I could have given birth to him. He did not believe me at all. hahah! It was AWESOME! That one night has totally changed my perspective on myself and how I am viewed. Holy. Crap. say WHAT???? I can't even get over it. lol! I've been in shock for 2 days now.
