News Story

My name is Peter Billing, MD. I am not Dr. Pete. I would never give out patient information without express permission from the patient. It is against HIPAA. I also do not think the message board is where we should discuss specific patients. My name does not have an "s" but that is a common misconception. My intent in joining this conversation is to offer support, not to create controversy. I appreciate your concerns. Peter Billing, MD Edmonds, WA

Port complications may lead to Erosion

I agree with Dr. Pleatman. Erosion causes port site infection. If a patient develops a port site infection, then we must be concerned with an erosion. The port and band need to be removed. It can be done laparoscopically but it is difficult. Once it is removed, I would recommend waiting six months and give the patient the option of another lap band ( a Vanguard band) or gastric bypass. My Port Infections and Erosion Story

I am sorry to hear your story. I am a lap band surgeon in Seattle and I have removed three lap bands from patients who have gone to Mexico in this past year. Similar stories. I hope you can find someone locally to help you. If you are in Vegas, Dr. Fischer should be able to help.

Peter Billing, MD

pssurgicalclinic.com
