Weight stalled third week post op
Seahawks Fan replied to nyguy28's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Three weeks out! Don’t even bother weighing yourself until 2 or 3 months out. It takes time. -
Post op experiences & favorite easy foods
Seahawks Fan replied to Ivy Joel's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My surgery went well in my recovery just like everybody else was somewhat annoying but once I got through it everything’s been great. I have an Instagram page with meals that I eat if you want to take a look at it. You can see it at “my_tiny_healthy_plate”. You really have nothing to be scared about as long as you follow your plan to the letter. I personally believe the more water you drink before & after the better. -
Nothing wrong with that. I love green beans!

First Stall - less than 2 weeks after surgery???
Seahawks Fan replied to nycgirl18's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Again it could take up to 3 months & possibly sooner to start seeing things happen. I only get my weight at appointments & have no scale at home. Just follow your plan and it will happen. I felt the same way as you when I went to appointments and got weighed but I never complained on here because my surgery group informed me that in the beginning this would most likely happen. Some people are fortunate and start losing right away & some may not even be truthful just for a pat on the back. These words came right from my dietitian. Just relax & see how your doing at 2 & 3 months out. For now you’re absolutely not a stall. This is completely normal. I would love to see an update at 2 & 3 months though. Things have definitely improved for me during that period. -

No it’s not possible! Way to early to be concerned with weight loss. You shouldn’t even be weighing yourself for the first 3 months. Just get in your protein & nutrients. Sorry but I’ve seen posts like this 100 times now & it’s becoming comical. Just calm down & worry about recovery. You don’t just get out of surgery & instantly start losing weight. Your body is in shock right now. It will happen soon enough. -
Feeling like my life is over

Sorry to hear your having trouble but just stay positive. So you now have a prolonged recovery. Follow instructions to the letter. You’ll soon be eating normal in smaller amounts. Hope your on the mend soon. Be well! -
I can only eat 1 egg & a piece of Turkey Sausage. If I’m still hungry I eat a clementine. That’s breakfast for me.

You are correct! Very small plate.
-
It’s a saucer plate & I ate that serving size. I’m 3 months out. That’s why I’m curious about pouch sizes. It’s a small piece of fish though.

It came in the package. Lemon Pepper Marinated.
-
Well heck ya! I can afford to serve up an extra 1/2 cup/4-6 ounce plate anytime.

Wow! The cost of Surgery.
Seahawks Fan replied to MJinNorCal's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yikes! I’m on disability & my surgery was covered 100%. That said your estimate of $3,500 is what I’ve read many people pay for their surgery. Might be much less to have it in Mexico. -
VGS with uncorrected abdominal hernia
Seahawks Fan replied to NikaChicky's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Been there & was told it would be better to lose 100 pounds as I had my gallbladder removed years ago which is the cause of two hernia repairs at the incision site. I never want this surgery again! It was far more painful than my sleeve which compared to hernia surgery was a walk in the park. So soon I will be having my 3rd hernia repair as a result of gallbladder surgery & mesh trimmed to fit which was obviously trimmed a bit to much! -
Yes to the last bite!
