Is it correct that you weigh 146? That's great! How much more do you expect to lose? Sounds like your deficient in vitamin D or some other vitamin or nutrients. I'm not a doctor but it sounds like you might benefit from seeing a counselor or the Dr that did your psych evaluation. That's what their here for! Another thing is you might go back to the instructions you were first givin & make sure your still on the right track. Find something to do that you weren't able to do before surgery. Heck I went roller skating for the first time in many years with my son last weekend & was sore after but had a blast! I haven't had surgery until next Tuesday but before switching to a vegan lifestyle & the pre-op diet weight loss it wouldn't have happened. Good luck & hope you get feeling good again!

Screw your surgeon! Make an appointment with your dietician. Surgeons surge & Dietician's diet!

What is your favorite way to stay active on the rainy days?
Seahawks Fan replied to jesssa_belle's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I went last week and it was fun after an hour of single laps & rest I started rolling like back in the day. I was a little sore the next day but not to bad. -
Find something fun to do. I went Roller Skating & had a blast last week. If nothing helps make an appointment & talk to a Dr or counselor.

Yikes! Hope you get past that quick. Is it carb withdrawal?

PROTEIN SHAKES & NUTRITION Pre/Post-Op
Seahawks Fan replied to Seahawks Fan's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That sucks! If you have carb limits that aren't met you should be able to add something like fruit to bring it up as long as it doesn't throw off your calories. Did they tell you why you couldn't have Blended fruit? What if you're vegan or just want to use vegan protein powder? What did they tell you to use to reach her carb limit if you're not already there? -

Of course! I'm really just an NFL fan but my SEAHAWKS take precedence over any other team. I will say I liked the Patriots a lot more several years ago though. -
PEOPLE CALL YOUR DIETICIAN & ASK QUESTIONS!
Seahawks Fan posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's what they're here for. OK I know everybody on here has different pre-op diets different caloric intake etc. I'm struggling just like everybody else but the shakes I use have fruits and vegetables in the powder as well as nutrients. If you don't know what you can put in your shakes you should! I'm allowed around 200 cal per shake I'm also allowed 15+ grams of protein per shake which I go for the highest amount I can and that's 30 g & I'm allowed 15 g or less of carbs the powder I use does not have 15 g of carbs so I blend in fruit this is totally OK for my plan. If you're drinking a shake that has 30 g of protein & 1 g of carbs that's great but you're risking carb withdrawal which makes you feel sick and nauseous. I had to call because I could not even drive. If you're not sure if you can add fruit and I mean well blended fruit to your smoothies then call your Dietician! If you're going to suffer by not suffer less? I've had people on here tell me they can't have fruit. Hey I can't have fruit either but blended fruit which is pulverized to the point of being liquid is entirely different once again if you're not sure call your Dietician they are there for you & they know this stuff. I'm not trying to sound bossy but I see a lot of people on here complaining about how they feel and they're uncertain what they can and can't use/add to their shakes. If you want to feel as full as possible and have as little discomfort as possible then once again call your Dietician & ask what you can put in your shakes. i'm going to post a picture of what I use once again. This is all vegan protein but that doesn't mean others can't use it to get the nutrients that will make them feel better before surgery and after. If you have carbs available add blended fruit if it's OK with your nutritionist. I hope this helps people because I started out suffering and since I added all 15 carbs per shake I've been doing pretty well. -
Liquid diet....
Seahawks Fan replied to starfishwish's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery is May 30th. If your allowed a certain amount of carbs use all of them. Just don't go over. I've been on this for much longer than others I've seen on here. I had to call my dieticion because I felt sick and nauseous had no energy he told me I was allowed no more than 15 g of carbs per shake and he said I should use the entire 15 g to avoid feeling that way. 500 cal is that per day? My restrictions were about 200 cal per shake/meal, 15+ grams of protein & 15 or less grams of carbs which I was sure to use all 15 of. -
Liquid diet....
Seahawks Fan replied to starfishwish's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been on it for three weeks and I have one week to go the first two weeks I was allowed one meal in the evening (with restrictions) after protein shakes during the day the second couple of weeks all protein shakes no food I have six days to go Monday clear liquids and water only Tuesday the 30th surgery. 200 cal 15+ grams of protein and 15 g or less of carbs but I use the whole 15 to avoid carb withdrawl which is similar to feeling sick and nauseous. -
Two week liquid diet troubles
Seahawks Fan replied to Okie75's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just emailed my Bariatric dietician about adding fruit/carbs & got this back. I'm also 1 week out from surgery. Of course as I said this is well blended with the powder & water or ice as close to 15 carbs as I can get & you can subtract the fiber so roughly 1 cup of fruit & the protein powder comes out at 15 grams of carbs. As long as you stay under the 15 carbs you are fine. Just wanted to verify that adding fruit to make smoothies was still OK at this point as long as I stay within the 15 carbs? BAMM! -

Not enough CARBS! Need 15 grams
Seahawks Fan posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Before I added fruit for my protein shakes I was feeling nauseous and my thoughts were cloudy I couldn't even drive. I called my Dietician who said I was going through carb withdrawal. He encouraged me to add carbs to my shakes so that I hit 15 grams. Although he did say make sure I do not go over 15 g he said to utilize the entire 15 g to avoid withdrawl. I posted how I make my protein shakes and I had people sayingthat they can't add fruit. Recheck with you Dietician I was told to add fruit well blended into a smoothie as long as I didn't go over 15 g of carbs. As long as you stay within your guidelines there's no reason you shouldn't be able to add carbs to your shakes of course you can't have whole fruit but well blended fruits are carbs and it's pretty much pulverized into liquid by the blender. Premier protein shakes only have 1 g of carbs. Thats definitely enough to put anybody in a carb withdrawl & make you miserable. At the same time the more protein the better to keep you full longer. My plan calls for 200 cal which I asked and was told I could go a little bit over and buy a little bit I don't mean 100 cal over so around 200 cal 15 or more grams of protein 30 plus is great! And up to 15 g of carbs hitting exactly 15 is the best way to feel good and not have carb withdrawl. If you feel uncertain about adding fruit then call your Dietician and ask them! Thats what they're there for. My surgery is May 30th and this is considered the liquid phase of the pre-op diet. The day before surgery I can only have water but up until then I was told it was fine to add blended fruit make make 15 grams of carbs total per shake. Best of luck to everyone hope this works out for you. I wouldn't deviate personally & risk being rescheduled because I definitely don't want to do this twice! -

PROTEIN SHAKES & NUTRITION Pre/Post-Op

I'm also vegan. This of course has to be blended well & should be ran by your own dietician. If for some reason you can't add the fruit the powder alone works with unsweeted almond/cashew milk. My dietician encourages using all 15 g of carbs to avoid carb withdrawal. Enjoy! You can copy & paste the entire post picture included. Someone said they can't have fruit which I don't get as long as it's blended into your shake & is liquid my dietitian said go for it! -
Two week liquid diet troubles

I'm on the same restrictions. 200 cal 15 or more grams of protein the more the better & 15 or less grams of carbs but 15 is acceptable & keeps you from having carb withdrawals. My nutritionist told me I could add to my smoothies as long as I didn't go over on carbs but try to hit 15 grams. Of course it has to be blended. You might double check this with your nutritionist. -

Try this. Here's what I'm using for shakes. This makes two 16oz Protein Shakes with around 200 cal 30 g of Protein and 15 g or less carbs. Add ice or Water until just over 32oz & blend. Two scoops of each powder, & 2 cups of most fruit blends keep you in the right range for carbs. Check first so you don't go over. Garden Of Life also has many nutients & 50 fruit and vegetable super foods. Drink one & save one for later.
