sassifunk got a reaction from Arielle in Weight loss breakdown
I was sleeved April 4. Prior to surgery on pre op I lost 15. I am 5'3.5. As you can see it fluxes each month and the process does slow down. I went from a size 24/ 3x to a Large 12/14. My goal from my doctor is 130 but I am going for 150. August was tough as the scale didn't move. I had to look at measurements to see the progression. My doctor is sort of rude and has been on me about my progress. I am doing all the right things.
Sw: 230
Pre op: 215
April : 204 down 11
May: 191 down 13
June: 186 down 5
July: 182 down 4
August: 179.6 down 2.4
Sept: current weight 177.6
Total Loss: 52.4

Try to keep a positive attitude. 31 pounds in three months is over 10 pounds a month. Take a photo of yourself pre-op and put a photo of yourself now next to it. You should see a difference. Sometimes you lose inches and not weight. Keep positive and stay on track. Everyone's weight loss journey is their own. You will lose weight at your own rate. Don't judge your weight loss against anyone else.

sassifunk got a reaction from KJencius in Do you find that vomiting has become part of your post VSG life?
I vomit a lot. Not fun at all. I get a lot of foamies too. My stomach is very sensitive to food and anything can set it off. Doesn't always have to do with eating fast for me. Literally can't eat eggs, cherries or the flavor and the list goes on

sassifunk got a reaction from Joann454 in Chicken wings and worry
My surgeon actually recommended chicken wings to me. Breast is actually tough meat where wings are softer and fattier. These are easier for the stomach. I think you will find some things will turn your stomach eventually

sassifunk got a reaction from Pam_2-06-2017 in 10 days post op & vomiting
Honestly I am 2 months out and I vomit. My stomach restriction is severe. Also I can not eat any sort of gluten or I throw up. You are still early out so maybe take it even slower. Your stomach is trying to figure itself out. If you get nervous call your dr!

sassifunk got a reaction from jacinthapittman in How did you handle changing clothing size ?
I belong to gwennie bee and rent my clothing for work. So for $100 a month I swap out my outfits as much as I can. Also I'm selling my plus size clothing on Poshmark to make money for new staple pieces. I also plan to hit goodwill and platos closet!

sassifunk got a reaction from SleeveDreams in Sensitive to scents
Don't feel bad I lost my crap on some student nurses when I was in the hospital. They had so much perfume on that I would gag and almost throw up in the hall on my walks. I never was that sensitive before as I make soap and deal with fragrance.

sassifunk reacted to jnj701 in Excess skin
Yeah I definitely feel like I might, and at most I'm hoping just an arm surgery honestly. I have big thighs but I've always had muscular legs from doing gymnastics and soccer. So I'm hoping that plays a good role in little to no loose skin. But After I had my daughter I bounced back immediately, like I left the hospital under my pre pregnancy weight, and I had a 9.8 pound baby so I stretched huge haha that was 33 weeks pregnant to 4 weeks postpartum. I'm really just hoping for the best! My insurance wouldn't cover anything besides a pani I think it's called so if I qualify I'm fine with getting that but anything else would be out of pocket and being 20 and a stay at home mom it would be difficult for sure!

I really feel like it is hard to say you won't get loose skin. Your body has been stretched out and now you are going to lose weight rapidly by a non traditional way. After I had kids my skin was never the same and now I know that it won't be with this. Most likely it will be your arms or maybe your thighs. I know it's sucks because idk if I can deal with extra surgeries myself. Just do your best and let it ride!

sassifunk got a reaction from Syaniya in And the count Down begins
This has been a very long journey for me. Over a year ago I decided to do the surgery. I have waited and waited and now we are a little over a week a way. I start my liquid diet next Friday and my surgery is on April 4. So many emotions right now!
