If you're sweet/sweetener averse..It's vile. I have 5/6ths of a case you can have lol. (I'm gonna try to freeze some into a popsicle mold today, if I can't stomach it then it's going to hell where it belongs.)

I can get my fluids as long as they're not tainted with any kind of sweetener or demon whey protein lol. It's been a rough go. I can't tolerate any Protein Drinks. Can stomach about one cup of milk a day and a cup of some chicken or beef stock. My dietician is pretty keen on Liquid Protein supplements for like, ever, and that's just not going to work for me. It's going to have to come from whole foods as soon as I'm able. She's suggested as a very last resort I try a medical protein concentrate called LiquaCel and I ordered some samples but I can pretty much already imagine how it's gonna go with that too. I feel your pain and I can't even reassure you that it's going to get better but I hope it does for us both!! [emoji171][emoji171]

I haven't been on this forum in forever so thought I'd make a post. :-)
I will be 9 months post op in 3 days after being sleeved on 11/21/16. I started the WLS process on April 11, 2016 after basically being overweight my entire life. At my highest weight I was 398 pounds wearing a size 28W pant and 4X top. I lost 100 pounds over a few years and would always regain and lose down to around 300 after that. In Feb 2016 my PCP told me my blood work showed that I was just points away from being diabetic (runs in my family) and that unfortunately my BP meds were no longer working even though they were now at the highest dose I could go. She said if things didn't change drastically and quickly I may not see my 40th birthday. (My family has a history of heart issues and death before 40). I had already completed a full year supervised diet and workout program and had lost and regained the same 20 lbs. My body was just happy between 280 and 300. She suggested WLS and I had my first consult a few months later. At the consult I weighed in at 298.6 pounds and was wearing a size 24W pant and 3X top. After my 7 months waiting period due to insurance requirements I was sleeved on November 21, 2017.
This morning I weighed in at 175 pounds and I am in a size 12 pant and can wear both a women's L top or a Juniors XL. I am off my BP meds, my blood work is amazing and I just feel so much better. I turned 33 this year and have 4 children and feel better now than I did in my 20's pre kids lol.
Anyways here are some before/after pics. Some are highest weight to now and some are post op to now

So I am a year and two months post op. Thinking back, a year ago I was wondering if I made the right decision. I couldn't keep anything down, I was so exhausted, and it seemed like my surgery was more of a curse than a blessing. I couldn't eat without feeling overwhelmingly full. However, I weigh 135 lbs now and the saying is so true, nothing tastes as good as skinny feels. although I still vomit after eating, it doesn't happen as often. I have to be on prescription heart burn medication for my gerd and they completely control it if I stay on top of it and other than those two issues my body has adjusted to my new "tummy" fairly well. Of course there is the little things like how I get absolutely and completely drunk off of one glass of wine (such a cheap date haha) and how easily I get dehydrated but that's really the only down side. So if you are reading this and trying to decide if you want I go through with WLS or you are newly post op and feeling discouraged, i have a few important things to tell you. This surgery was the best decision that I have ever made. My quality of life and happiness is so much different. I can do things I've always wanted to do and I can go shopping and get "normal" sizes. This surgery is not an easy way out and it's going to be hard and at times you'll regret doing it, but, if you stick with it I promise you quality of life will improve so much. If you have any questions please feel free to message me, I'd love to answer any questions you may have.

I was watching an old episode of My 600 lb Life last night (I watch for free sessions with the shrinks lmao) and the therapist struck a cord with me when she said 'there's healthy discomfort (motivates change, pulls your hand off a hot stove etc.) and unhealthy discomfort (being violated)' in regards to the ...Discomfort of sitting with your discomfort. Just stewed on it a bit and I can't really get where I was going with this except that sitting uncomfortably with your healthy discomfort (instead of eating it) is what motivates the change. And we are safe with that healthy discomfort and nothing /actually/ bad is happening while we do that except that discomfort that we've been so desperately trying to avoid.

    And then it hit me.
After a couple of days feeling full of Beans my energy level just fell off a cliff. My surgeon said it was likely so I don't feel any enormous emotional upheaval but it really does feel different. I'm still pain free with no gastric issues I'm just physically tired all of a sudden.
Taking it easy is, unsurprisingly, the obvious response. Instead of fighting it I'm napping, sipping and walking - no pressure.
My first puréed meal was very welcome. I had made up a batch of beef ragu, puréed it and frozen it pre-op. It goes down well, little nibbles from the tip of a teaspoon of rich rich flavours and at least some texture. Feels good.
I'm not very conscious of any particular sense of construction in my stomach, I assume I'm just sipping at a good pace and I haven't come up against it. Like most things I'm sure that that sense of capacity will come with time.
All in all I couldn't ask for a more benevolent start to this journey. No complaints here.

I do recognize when i am having the thoughts. I can identify them. What I cannot seem to come to terms with is "sitting with" it. It doesn't make any sense to me. Something hurts, u fix it. But there is no fix for the thought except to eat it...distract from it, walk it, weed it, read a book.....etc. and there it is AGAIN with a self satisfied grin saying: "im so glad you decided to invite me In to sit on your shoulder and keep you uncomfortable. I win, again. Keep it up , pal"
I am unable to find a strategy for "sitting with" anything. No. Therapy is not new for me. Have tried several kinds. Plus meditation, breathing etc.

    Thanks for your reply.

So it's been one year since surgery. I am so thankful everyday for my sleeve. Before surgery I had to be on oxygen because I was so overweight I couldn't breathe properly and could hardly walk around a room without getting out of breath. Now I can walk 6 miles and up hills without stopping for a rest.
I'm down 200 since surgery and 263 overall. I started at a size 36/38 (probably stretching it out) and now I'm a 18/20 too and 22 bottom (though probably smaller because of my extra skin...that will be gone soon though).
I'm having a panniculectomy on June 5th. I'm nervous but also excited. Anyone who has had it...what are some things you think I'll need to help me out while recovering!
I had a really rough 6 months after surgery with a bunch of complications but even with all of that I would do this again in a heartbeat.
    My stats are:
    Highest: 540
    Surgery: 480
    Current: 277.2
    Goal: 199
    Height: 5'10
I am almost exactly half who I used to be.

I'm officially one year and one week out from my surgery date. I can't believe it. I've lost 140 lbs from my highest weight and I'm literally stunned at how the weight has just fallen off. Some people do not even recognize me because of this. Sometimes I do not even recognize myself because I feel like I will always be the "chubby" girl I've been since childhood. I've tried to explain this to some people but most don't understand... and I don't expect them to. I have always known this strong, amazing, resilient person was here, but didn't always know my potential to be such, because I was too busy hiding, unfortunately, but most likely, from myself. The first few months post-surgery were extremely difficult, but I feel I've gotten more accustomed to my new lifestyle now and I feel wonderful now. Just wanted to share...
I also wanted to ask... How many of you have lost a similar amount of weight within the first year or so? I asked my surgeon if it was typical to lose so much for someone my size and age, but I didn't really get an answer. He just told me I should be extremely proud of my progress... which I am! (I started at 325, I'm 5'11 and 25 years old)
Cheers, y'all!!! Whether you're drinking a Protein Shake, Water, or anything else...
Pictured is me at my surgery date last year on June 21, 2016 and May 31, 2017... [emoji12]
