    Just about a year out

Good job and congrats! Definitely an inspiration!
  2. I haven't really made much progress since I started this thread. I lost couple then gained 4lbs that stayed for a few days then lost a pound. This is just beyond frustrating to me. I go to the gym 3x per week. I average 800-1000 calories. I have tried to eat more and less than that with no change. I get 90-115g protein, 40-55g carbs per day. Most days I get less than 40 grams of carbs. It's really disappointing and discouraging to not loose weight.
  3. Carol, people like that are the reason I keep mine private. I just don't need the negativity from people. Got enough to deal with going through the surgery, recovery, and maintaining for me to have to worry about negative people.

    Good protein powder?

Your welcome! Remember that you can throw some PB2 in also every once in a while to change it up. Makes it sorta like a peanut butter cup shake. Lol
  5. That stinks. I have tried to keep my surgery private as well. I agree with the above advice to just do you and don't let anyone drag you down.

    Good protein powder?

Good call on the pb2. I forgot about that. I add it to my isopure on occasion to change it up.
  7. Have you tried different flavors? I know my taste buds changed a little after surgery. Also I was told the company keeps changing the formula which was one of the downsides to the quest bars. Maybe that's why you now hate them. I'll be honest I can eat them but they are sweet an ever since surgery I can't eat or drink super sweet things. So it's a once in a while thing for me or if I am on the go an can't get something nutritious.
  8. It's only 15 grams of protein since it is impossible to get 30 grams of anything into a 15 gram scoop. Search this forum for genepro. It comes up often. Just my .02 cents though so take it for what it's worth.
  9. Have you tried the quest protein bars? Some of them are okay.

    Good protein powder?

Your welcome. I mix mine with skim milk which raises the protein count to a little over 60. Ask your NUT if that's okay since some are different than others.
  11. Well it seems as if I may have sorta broke the stall. Only 1.5lbs but I will take it. Lol

    Good protein powder?

Isopure low carb. 50 grams of protein in a 12 ounce shake with no chalky aftertaste nor is it overly sweet. I am a fan of the Dutch chocolate flavor.

Congrats on beings sleeved. Hope your surgery went well and your recovery is swift an smooth. Glad you have a support structure in place with experience in what your growing through. I am sure it makes your process easier. I expected the worst since I didn't know what to expect other than what the docs an NUT told me. Turns out that so far it hasn't been horrible. Then again seeing results helps a lot. Welcome to the forums!
  14. I agree with deactivatedfatgal... you look great! Don't let others bring you down. Especially since some of it could be from there own insecurities an them being intimidated by your weight loss an beauty that leads them to try and pick at you to feel better.

    GENEPRO

Meh I'll continue to use isopure since like others have pointed out that a tablespoon is not capable of holding 30 grams. Not trying to stir up crap but your posts sounds like you are pushing the product a little hard to not be affiliated or getting some perk for the advertisement (how it comes off to me... just an opinion so take for what it is). If I'm wrong an it just works for you then fine, but I believe there are far better proteins out there with tons of proven documentation from independent people for the money. Just my .02 cents.
  16. So I am looking for some snacks that I can carry with me when I am unable to have a good meal that fits my diet or when I am on the go. I had read that the Quest protein bars are the best tasting an aren't loaded with sugars. Are these good or is there something better out there? I am sorta picky when it comes to taste, but who isn't? I mean if it taste nasty most people won't eat it. I know these bars have around 20 grams of carbs in them but the net carbs aren't to bad do to the fiber content. I just don't want to sabotage myself especially since I'm dealing with some stall issues already. Thanks for any insight and advice!

    Quest Protein Bars?

I have seen the premiere protein bars but avoided them do to the nasty after taste in there shakes. lol I know it probably isn't the same but it's just a mental block for me. I will look into the Atkins bars also. This surgery has forced me to try new foods which is something I tried to avoid before. Now I have to in order to get my protein in. The biggest struggles for me have been on the go so I appreciate all the suggestions from everyone.
  18. Congrats on the weight loss first off. Secondly, Stalls happen... of course with that said I'm gonna say what you already know which is don't give up! Get back to the proper eating and drinking habits. I think that is your first step. Other than that have you tried going back to the liquids only to try an kickstart your weight loss? I've read on here that this can help with the stalls. Most of all though don't give up!

I've just been walking since surgery. I know the gym is gonna be hard but I also know the results are gonna be worth it. He doesn't use just weights he incorporates plyometrics an helps make you stronger all around for the movements your body does playing sports or just in everyday life. I dunno how to explain it lol but I've seen it an the results in real time when he trained a softball team I helped out coaching.

I'm gonna go down to Athlete Ready and talk to Jared. I have seen firsthand how he does things and the results. Figure if I'm going to spend money on a membership I may as well go with something I have seen work. I sorta feel like going to a planet fitness or something would be a waist versus getting real one on one training at a place I have seen work.

24lbs is great! The energy will come back just takes a little time, its good to hear that you are happy with the rest of your recovery an nice to see a fellow ABQ sleever on here! I am coming along well I think lol. I have been dealing with some stall issues but that's normal. I am down 41lbs since surgery and 61 overall. The NSV are the best though clothes don't fit anymore an I'm wearing sizes I never would have imagined 6 months ago. Fixing to get into the gym in the next week or so hopefully so I can drop the rest an mainly tone up. Still lots of work to do but I'm looking forward to it now!

    Quest Protein Bars?

Thanks! Kazethats exactly what I was thinking something to grab and go that isn't junk. Outsidematchinside why do you hate the company? Just curious. Lol
  23. Thanks for the comments. Glad to know it's normal. I know I shouldn't sweat the stall but I was hitting my goals more often than not so I was concerned. As for weighing everyday I am working on getting better at not doing it. The NSV help me not want to run to the scale everyday burst here lately the stall junk has me doing it more often than not. I guess I will just keep doing what I'm doing an wait out the stalls. Thanks for reassuring me that these things happen!
