These are my absolute favorite. My husband makes them a few times a week.

    2 eggs 1 large banana (or 1 1/2 small)

    That's it

Whisk eggs mush in banana then whisk, til it looks like pancake batter. Cook on griddle or skillet. Yields 4 small pancakes which I am 6 months out almost and can only eat 1. So I'm eating a 1/2 an egg and 1/4 of a banana.

They keep well in fridge in a zip lock bag over night. If they last that long. Hubby eats the other 3 most days.

These pancakes are AMAZEEEEEEEEEBALLS!!!!!! almost like a banana creme flavor! I had them this morning... so good

This is the link that I have bookmarked for after my surgery. A friend of mine who is over 2 years post op sent it to me. She also told me that it's important to keep your skin well-hydrated pre-op & always... and better to add it to your daily routine now.

This is one of my biggest concerns so I'm right there with you.

Best of luck - hope this helps :)

FYI & in response to another post... she did this as she was losing weight and wasn't sure if it would be helpful to me because I will lose weight much faster having RNY instead the surgery she had that had her losing steadily at a slower pace.

I was sleeved a year and a half ago. There is nothing I can't eat that I ate before. Oh yeah, I cannot eat more than 8 ounces of anything!

You'll never be deprived of a "taste", so there's no reason for a food funeral.

Now, if you're wanting a pig out overeatingathon - what good will that do?

Naw, I've never been much of an over eater... my doctor said I actually ate to little and then the wrong things when I would eat!

I have several friends that have had WLS and for instance one was never able to enjoy dairy again... she doesn't miss it because it makes her ill.. but she remembers loving it.

I want to be successful!.. and so I will be. But it's in my nature to worry and question and since a friend of mine was making such a big to-do about it I figured I would ask and get some opinions! Thank you for responding & congrats on your successes :)

  4. I feel your pain! I live almost an hour away from my bariatric doctors - and they often schedule multiple appointments for the same month... For instance this month I will be going up there 6 times!!!! I asked about why the appointments can't be coupled together and they said that my insurance will reject the billing if they try to bill for the same office more than once in the same day... ugh

  5. Thank you both for responding. Like everything that I am leaving behind... being alive is more important to me and I didn't make this decision lightly. I try to keep that in my mind and frankly it's a little exciting to try new foods and flavors and find healthier way to make "old favorites"

I know I will get thru this... thanks for the encouragement!

  6. I will have 2 weeks as well... 7 shakes a day.

the surgeon said liquid to prep the body for after the surgery...when you will be on liquid only....and two weeks because he wanted to shrink my liver by 15%.. he said the tools used to move the liver can cause damage to the liver and the liver has a higher risk of bleeding if its enlarged...bleh

I'm not looking forward to those two weeks... or the first 6 weeks after surgery.

I just keep reminding myself that it's only temporary...and tomorrow is one step closer to the me I want to be

  7. I have several friends that have already had surgery and I am so close to getting all my approvals back and setting the date...(I can't wait)

I've been really good without much exception in following my diet and doing all that my team has asked of me. I quit smoking cold turkey on Jan 1st. I gave up sodas and caffeine (gosh I miss my starbucks)...butit really hasn't been too difficult.

My friend tells me that if I don't have a food funeral that I am risking slipping back after the surgery... that it is better to pick day and eat a little off all the things I will miss and say goodbye to them rather than deprive myself and freak out somewhere after the surgery.

I have mixed feelings about it... as I would really like to have the things... but I also don't want to curb my momentum and sabotage myself when I am so close to my surgery...and I have worked so hard for it..

    has anyone else been here?

  8. I am waiting for all my approvals to come too...I keep getting told the waiting is the hardest part...but it is nerve racking for sure. I hope you get to have you in April like you want and everything goes smoothly...my team told me 4-6 weeks after all my clearances so i'm looking at June I guesss
