It is wise to live your life quietly (no drama) so others may take notice of the good in you. (There's a lovely scripture about that somewhere). 😊
Good job on the 1.5 with no breaks. That is awesome!

Don't let the words of one persons opinion bother you. I see both points and I agree that sometimes people think just because their journey went a certain way that everyone is going to have just as hard a journey, and that just isn't possible or even logical.
I believe you will succeed and if you believe it, that is all that matters.

I'm 9 months post op, down 90lbs. I have been in the gym 5 days a week. I follow my plan. I've had no complications. I have no intention of looking back or failing. You can join my bandwagon...

I just heard a message tonight at church that might encourage you. Don't worry, it's not preachy or anything and certainly not religious. I don't do religion. Anyway, despite what this person says, you'll need to do your best to let it roll off your shoulders. So, part of the message was "do everything for an audience of One" (for me, that means do everything I do for God alone). But let's apply this to your situation, heck...everyone's situations with the naysayers or super opinionated (there way or the highway type)....do everything you need to do for your weight loss/surgery for the audience of one...yourself! Do you know the truth of how things are going with YOUR journey? YES Are they working for you? YES Are you lighter, happier, healthier? YES. The questions can go on. What I'm saying is, despite how anyone else may come across based on their own journeys, failures and successes, you will need to be mindful that your journey is the only one that matters. So, just let it roll....easier said than done, I know it! But you have the choice to let it not bother you. You have the choice to know these are lies for you and not believe them. Which I don't think you do. You have the choice to forget and forgive and move on. Will you choose to do that? Blessings to you hon. I enjoy your statuses, posts, concerns, and opinions here. Stay on board for the rest of us, huh?

That's funny - I just came to that realisation as well! I did some research last night and found out that Gold's Gym here in Japan is now open 24 hours - which means I can go in for early morning workouts before work! I'm so excited, but I won't join until September as I'll be away for most of August.

@MSinger lol.. I must stay off Amazon. I have one more delivery coming tomorrow and then I am done shopping until Christmas like I said.
@OutsideMatchInside you are right about waiting to buy too much. I didn't have any workout clothes though so I needed to buy a few. I went overboard for sure. I have tons of tips hanging in my closet from before I gained weight that I am just waiting to fit into. I am glad I saved everything.

@Newme17 yep, it's pretty bad. A UPS truck parked in front of my building yesterday and I get deliveries so often I assumed it was for me and was going to buzz him into my building until I saw him walking in the other direction.

If you are dropping weight it is so pointless. In the weight loss phase I bought as few clothes as possible while always keep clothes that fit. It is really important to have clothes that dit and aren't too big. Shoes though are my biggest problem. I'm between sizes still and nothing fits right it is really annoying. Just don't waste your money buying a lot at once, just buy something new when you drop a size. If you were high quality workout stuff/compression, you will notice the difference pretty fast.

Thank you @Apple1 I can't wait to update with the physical changes. Reminds me, I forgot to take and post a 2 month post op pic. I'll just do one for next month.
@MSinger absolutely! Gym time has been ingrained in me since a kid (doing workout with my dad in the gym), it's what I know. So, I'm pretty excited, once again, to be back there. LOL

@Newme17 preach girl 😊 That is exactly what I needed. I know all of this I just needed someone else to help rein me in. I am blessed because I could afford to purchase everything I bought, but that is no excuse. I still have a mortgage that needs paying off.
No more clothes until Christmas time. That is my goal. I will stay out of the stores and off Amazon.

I'm sorry you're hurting. I have problems with humid weather from old injuries. Sometimes I'll have days where my entire body is cracking and popping - back, fingers, toes, elbows... I sound like a bowl of rice crispies! I hope it gets better. Rest up and take care of yourself

    @Newme17 - I so feel for you!
I haven't had anything "old" flare-up, but I have noticed that various bits of my body get creaky and cranky for short periods of time (up to a week) and then it kind of disappears. However, I have had a long history of bad backs (herniated disc), bad feet (plantar fasciitis and now it appears that I have heel spurs (no more fat padding!)), and perennially bad knees. As I result, every time I try to "step it up" to increased my activity, something always happens that sets me back worse than I was before I started, and for much longer. Now, luckily the weight is not so much the issue, but I do know that after turning 35, and especially after turning 40, things begin to go rapidly down hill! (at least they did for me). So I'm taking the activity part of my weight loss slowly - lots of walking, hills and stairs are okay, but nothing even remotely high impact or overly strenuous (although I'm now at the point where I do think it would be safe to go a bit harder). I also have to find some lighter weights to use, because the ones I currently have at home (which in the past seemed too light for me) are now too heavy and may cause injury if I continue to use them for weight training (I've been using the video on YouTube you suggested a while back). So...that's a long story but basically I think you are doing the right thing by taking a step back for a little while. We have to learn to listen to cues from our bodies, and remember that changes take time.

@Berry78 my house is called the "Pinterest" house by my friends. I still have tons of projects to do, but first the kitchen needs to get finished. We at least know, by updating/fixing our homes, the value should go up...so it's a win!
@Apple1 I'm happy to help. In fact, my own words made me think of what I did yesterday. I bought some phones for my kids. Now why did I do that? LOL Anyway, back to REALITY...my step 2 on the money makeover. I'll have to adopt the "no more clothes until Christmas time" too...cause I know even when I lose more weight, I can still wear some of these stretchy things perhaps, and always get some from my church store for free. We can do it!

@Newme17 I am spending most of time in running capris and tank tops lol, but they are so comfortable and I love that I can wear them now.

I was spending way too much time in clothing stores a couple months ago. Had to distract myself from going there, and start looking around for other projects/hobbies. The house is in need of a bunch of TLC, so that's my new time/energy/money sucker. The house has gotten into a state that should keep me busy for, oh, the next couple years at least! Lol!
