  1. Very happy for you!! You will be replacing fat with muscle so that is a good thing! As long as you are happy with your body composition that is all that matters. I hope you continue to share your progress.
  2. I want to offer a little tough love here. You can completely ignore this if you want, but it comes from a place of having been there and done that and wanting to warn you. Consuming two krispy cream donuts in a day is not cheating, it is binging with the size stomachs that we have. In fact the size of your stomach is probably the only thing that stopped you from eating more. Before I had WLS I tried to follow various diets like most everyone, and the first sign that I was losing my willpower was allowing sweets back into my diet. Once you start you know how hard it is to stop. You have this window of opportunity to change your eating habits and relationships with food. Stay strong think about the reasons why you wanted to lose weight and get healthy. Are they worth eating a krispy cream donut? Focus on the plan your doc/nut have you and be successful.
  3. The Suthwest one looks yummy. I haven't seen those yet in our grocery stores. I buy the steam in the bag veggies all the time. It saves so much time. Five minutes in the microwave and boom done.
  4. I made salmon and Parmesan crusted squash for dinner. To think I used to eat similar sized portions as my dh, maybe a little less, but not much.
  5. Check out these mean sky's on my way home from work. About 2 minutes later it poured so hard I had to put my hazard lights on.
  6. Just do it girl!!! You got this. You know you will feel better after you get your blood pumping.
  7. Congrats. That is fantastic! I am very happy for you.
  8. Check out this video on YouTube. Lifelong Success After Bariatric surgery - How to prevent gaining weight after bariatric surgery Dr. Matthew Weiner 36,192 views He outlines what the most successful people have done and what we all should be doing.
  9. My internet is 89 a month!! It is highway robbery ? But my provider is the only one available to me where I am located. I wish some competition would come!
  10. Many of us have medical reasons for wanting to shed the fat. It is unhealthy to be obese. Also many obese people have type 2 diabetes or pre diabetes and the carbs in bread and sugar would not be healthy for them. I congradulate you for finding the plan that works for you. I know I can chose to eat the way that works better for me and I am. I just don't want anyone newly post op to think they can just throw caution to the wind and eat like this. I would gain weight if I ate those types of foods.
  11. I would consider a lot of what you have listed here as junk food or processed foods. There is a lot of bread and sugar. These types of food are not healthy by my definition of healthy foods and they would not help me with any of my goals. if you can eat that much bread and be fine well that is just great. I am happy that you are happy and have found a lifestyle that works for you.
  12. Just make sure you are following your plan for diet and exercise and you will lose. Stalls are common and everyone loses at their own pace. I stall at least once a month for 10 days, but I am still losing inches. Measure yourself as a way to keep motivated if the scale isn't moving. Definitely stay away from sugar, bread, pasta, rice, potatoes. Those carbs will definitely not help you.
  13. Congrats!!! I know how happy you must be with those numbers. I can't wait to have my A1C tested in November. I am off all of my meds and my bs are normal now.
  14. So sorry that happened to you. I think pasta is a food that should maybe never be eaten post-surgery. It just fills our sleeves up with no real nutrition. Try zucchini noodles instead once you are approved for soft foods. They taste great and you wont even miss the pasta.
  15. Hugs to you @Dashofpixiedust8. So sorry you had such a bad week. Prayers for a much better weekend!
  16. 7/14/17 184 I dropped another size. I am fitting my size 10 jeans!!!
  17. I havent had the DS, but I just wanted to say welcome. I think you are doing a great job. We all lose at our own pace and experience many stalls along the way so keep following your plan and I am sure you are going to do awesome. You are beautiful!
  18. I have been taking Bariactric Fusion Chewables twice a day. They are supposed to be a complete supplement, meaning I don't have to take anything else. I can't wait to get my level checked next month to see how I am doing.
  19. You are rocking those shorts!! You look great! When I eat fruits I eat berries because they have the least impact on my blood sugar. To be honest I havent tried to re-introduce any others yet since surgery.
  20. I always weigh my portions and I never serve myself more then 3oz of protein and 1 oz of vegetables. This really helps and also eating slowly. By limiting my portions right off the bat I don't have to worry about eating that one bite too many.
  21. Are you keeping track of your protein consumption? At this point getting your protein and water in is the most important. I was able to get 50-60g of protein in at 3 weeks. I was probably consuming 400 calories +-. It is a good idea to use a food tracker app and weigh your food. This way you will be able to show your doc/nut exactly what you have been eating and there will be a record for you to look at. Are you drinking protein shakes? At 3 weeks I was still using a shake a day to help bump up my protein levels.
  22. Anyone noticing their nails are getting weaker. Mine keep splitting and are looking thin. I am taking my vitamins so I am not sure why?
  23. If you are following your doc/nuts plan don't worry the weight will come off. We are all individuals and will lose at the pace our bodies want to. Stalls are common along the way so if it stresses you out when the scale doesn't go down I would suggest to weigh less often. Your body is healing right now. You will lose if you stick to the plan. Try to relax and enjoy the journey.
  24. research the 3 week stall. It is very common, and it wont be the last stall either. Your body needs time to catch up and even when the scale is not dropping you are most likely losing inches. Did your doc or nut talk about stalls at all? I am curious because this questions pops up everyday and a bunch of us were wondering if doctors weren't telling their patients.
  25. How many calories are you consuming daily? Do you track your foods? How many carbs and protein are you eating? Are you drinking at least 64oz or more water daily? I think we need more information to offer advice. Did you follow your doctors plan? Exercise can be walking or non-impact in a pool, it doesn't have to be stressful to the body. I am sorry you haven't lost weight, but maybe you still can if you change some things.
