  1. I'm two weeks out I have just been drinking Protein Shake n Gatorade/ Protein Water. But since I can't get enough liquids I'm dehydrated... this has led me to be constipated or idk if it's lack of Fiber or cuz I stopped my metformin but it's been a week & I want to know if I can strain ??? I've started chewable fiber & took two stool softeners today ! Still it seems STUCK just like my life. I feel like once I'm relieved I'm only gonna drink fiber over protein

Definitely get your doctor's/nurse's advice but this is what mine had me do in that situation: 1) one tablespoon of milk of magnesia every hour for up to five hours 2) take a stool softener (I now take one daily before bed) 3) add benefiber (or similar) to my daily routine. I use the dissolvable powder in one of my bottles of water each day. 4) make sure you're drinking the amount of water they have told you to drink each day (my dr.'s requirement is 64 oz/day)

  2. So, I am now 5 days post op. Feeling pretty darn good. Stopped pain meds three days ago. My Fluid intake & exercise are where they need to be. Everything is great. EXCEPT, I can't [emoji90]. I have been taking Miralax for two days now and nothing. It's been five days...should I be worried? When do I call the doctor/nurse? We all [emoji90][emoji90], so I appreciate your sharing.

  3. Is chest discomfort a sign of fullness? I always stop eating when that feeling starts up or when I'm just satisfied because I'm not sure if that's what it is. [emoji848]

Yes, if you start to feel pressure in your chest, stop eating!

  4. I met Dr Baranov back in October 2014 at a pre surgery seminar. I knew immediately that I wanted him to be my doctor. Dr B will take the time needed to make sure you're on the right track. The office staff and nurses are some of the nicest I've met. My case was handled so quickly and with such care to me. I had my surgery on 3/2/2015 and expected to spend 2-3 days in the hospital. When I woke up the next morning I felt great! Later that afternoon I was released. The office stayed in contact with me for those first several days; a very nice personal touch. The office on West Ave is very nice, always clean and I get a sense of calm there.

Just had RNY by Dr. Baranov on Monday (4/4/17). Highly impressed with him and his staff.

  5. You sound optimistic and ready to take the world on! The gas will pass and when it does it's amazing ! I'm 6 days out and finally feel good! At the mall shopping now!

Had bypass surgery on Monday. Trying to drink 64 ozs of fluids/day. Have sharp pains on my side. Not real bad, just like getting a stitch in your side. Only lasts a couple seconds. Am I sipping too much at one time?

  6. 2AM - just woke up. I had my surgery yesterday morning. I was so groggy afterwards I couldn't really wake up until around 4:00 PM. Sipping on Water, walking the halls. Received an iv of something similar to Tylenol around 11 for pain. Pain really wasn't that bad but I figured it would help me sleep comfortably. Hope all my April 3 surgery buddies are doing well!

  7. Mine is the 3rd also!!! Are you getting nervous? I've been spring cleaning to try and keep my mind of of it.

Another April 3rd here. Yep, worked from 8am to midnight yesterday since I'll be out for weeks. Now to go crazy cleaning my house so I don't have to think about it afterwards. Running on all liquids.

  8. I've actually, finally, lucked out. The biggest offenders are moving out April 1st, which would leave my mother and youngest brother at home. My mother is coming around to understanding. She recently broke her knee cap and now understands the pain I'm in every day.

Checking up on you. How is the situation with your family? Hoping it's better!
