  1. What a wonderful hubby. He sent me a video text telling me that he wants me to focus on getting my mommy makeover that I want. Sure I’d have to wait for it (I am only 5 months post) but I have his total support with it. He says it’ll be my anniversary gift. 😊 I’ll take it! I better start saving now.

  2. So the ex-bf is completely out of the picture. I could not handle the uncertainty of his behaviors. One day he likes the way I dressed, the next day I was begging for attention. Once he started with the insecurities, I had to let it go. Truthfully, it did not hurt me as much as I thought it would. And that is because I had falling in love with someone else.

I fell in love with a woman. She is the most funny, beautiful and caring person I have ever met. She is strong, confident and dorky at the same time. She is everything I ever wanted in a person and she is ME!! I FELL IN LOVE with MYSELF again. I forgot the person I used to be and went searching for her and I found her. I never want to lose her again. If that meant giving up someone else for the sack of myself, then I would do what is necessary to keep me as a I am.

I guess sometimes you have to be selfish. I cannot sacrifice my success to make someone else fell secure in themselves. I cannot sacrifice my peace of mind to give some one a peace of mind. I just could not keep living my life through other peoples wants, hopes and desires. I want to live my life for me. I have wants, hopes and desires and I plan on making them happen.

  3. There is a hill that is along my bike route to work. Everyday I ride, I take that hill. Today was the first time that I made it to the top without having to stop. I am getting stronger a bike rider. My calories for today are 672 but that does not include dinner. I will be buying Standard Gold Whey Protein Powder to add to my fruit smoothies. 1 scoop is like 26g of protein (Something that is much needed as I am trying to build muscle). I am having a hard time increasing my protein intake in the form of food lately. I just have not been hungry.

Things I am adding to my diet to see if I can take them:

    1) Whey Protein

    2) Dannon Oikos Triple Zero

Also, I have started doing mediation to help alleviate some stress. I retain weight when I am stressed out. It also causes pain in my neck and back because that is where I hold all my tension. I also want to be flexible and by relaxing myself, I am able to stretch and bend a lot easier.

This week is buffalo chicken for lunch and breakfast is turkey bacon and eggs. That is small bag of ranch (1 tbsp).

  6. I went to my monthly support meeting yesterday and got "yelled" at.
They think I'm too rigged with tracking my food, and I'm not eating enough carbs. Not that I should overload with carbs, but I should have more in the morning, and continue to eat a lot less of them in the afternoon and evening.

As for tracking my food, they think I can't continue like I do, and think at one point it'll be what makes me gain weight again. That I'm not on a diet, and that I should build a normal relationship with food.

At this point in my life, I must have read at least a million weight loss success stories and they follow a general pattern:

      1. A person made goal by religiously tracking their calorie intake.

      2. A person got to their goal weight by tracking, life happened and they stopped tracking, and now they've regained weight (sometimes possibly gained more weight than the last time they started).

      3. A person got to goal weight by tracking calorie intake, and they continue to maintain their weight by tracking their calorie intake.

Tracking seems to be an important theme here. Do what works for you.

  7. I am getting ready to go for a run this morning. It will be my first time at this distance 4.5 mi. My training plan has me gradually increasing my long runs and next Sunday I will be doing 6.0. I know I can do this. I am ready, it is exciting, but if I am honest it is also little intimidating seeing all of these dates on my calendar with 3.0-8.5 mi runs for the next 3 months. Gone are the quick 2 mile runs. I will need to get up a little earlier if I am going to be able to do a 4+ run during the week before work. I am proud of myself :) I never dreamed I would be a runner. My dh is joining me now on Sunday runs and it is great that we can do this together.

  8. New to this site...  I started my journey July 12,2017 I have to do 6 months of supervised dieting for insurance to pay for it.. I started off at 321 now I'm 292..  Ive decided on the duodenal switch.. Surgery should be in late December or early January not sure yet... Super excited ready for a new me... Looking for support and to meet new friends..

  9. I finally gave Premier Protein shakes a chance. I picked a 4 pack of chocolate (I'm a chocolate kinda gal)

i might be the only person to think this, but those things are terrible! They're thick and gritty, no wonder people have such a hard time with the pre/post op liquid diets. Now, I'm cheap, and they were expensive, so I did pour them into my morning coffees until they were gone. Long story short-Blech🤢That is all. :)

I agree with @Yettid . I didn't like them at first, but you get used to them. Although I wouldn't drink them if I didn't have to, but I think they are the best tasting protein shakes I've had.

  10. SO today is day 10 and I started my diet at 224 and am know at 216 lbs. When i first got my pamphlet i thought this would be easy because I thought  I could control my self. But dear god this has been the hardest journey of my life. Childbirth was more straightforward than not eating. I have had more cravings for things that I never really ate since I started. I won't lie I have cheated but food high in proteins. I felt discouraged until I saw I was loosing weight but right know this journey is extremely hard. I salute all who are currently doing their diets and those of you who are long pass this stage. ::) just a few more days to go.

Pre-op is by far the hardest as far as exercising willpower. You still have all of your hunger hormones, honeymoon period will not start until post op. Hang in there!

  11. So I have come to the conclusion that I have a racer back gym shirt problem. I keep buying more shirts and they are soo cute and they make me feel cute. I am still kicking butt on my workouts and I have decided to end Keto for now. I have been stressing a lot about food and unfortunately, I hold on to weight that way. It is time to go back to just being mindful of what I eat and how much.

Although I look great in clothing, I wanted to show what my body looks like outside of it. My stomach is sagging lower than before I lost weight. My arms are sagging and my breast have deflated.

With that being said, I would not go back and change anything. I would not give up being able to jump, bike, go shopping easily and feel comfortable in clothes for anything. I would not trade this confidence or happiness. I am soo a peace with myself and my body. The aches that I feel are from soreness of pushing my body, than from being too heavy that my body cannot handle the weight.

This journey has saved my life in more ways than I could ever imagine. I do not hide from the world anymore. I do not hide from people. I go out and want to explore. I meet new people. I have been freed from the burdens my weight had placed on me mentally and physically.

With being said, "I LOVE MY IMPERFECTLY PERFECT BODY!!"

I have developed the worst racerback shirt addiction too. Got some for 12.99 ea on amazon and I LOVE them. Lots of colors, great compression, and I love the extra ventilation to the back of my shoulders. The best thing is even though I'm tall they still are long enough in the torso for me. Round 3 purchase will be tomorrow when I get paid. :72_imp:

And right at the time when people talk about leaving keto is when I am recommitting myself to it... lol, figures. I did really well on it prior to going on a vacay for my birthday last week, and now I have to re-focus which is almost harder than starting from the beginning and I don't know why. In any case, if there is one thing I love about keto is no more obsessing about food. When I fell off the wagon on vacay it was all I could think about, and that is when my sleeve restriction really made its presence known! Sometimes I think to myself that my sleeve doesn't work as much as it might for others, but I realized it's because I usually eat the recommended 4-6oz. If I go carb-crazy and over-eat that restriction makes itself known!

  13. HAPPY 39th BIRTHDAY TO ME!!! :D

Yep, today's my birthday and I'll scream it out loud for all the world to hear.  Why?  Not for birthday wishes, but because of the birthdays I had growing up weren't really celebrated too much.  When I became an adult, I would always be depressed on this day.  I had enough of it two years ago and had a revelation (thanks to my brother) and decided that from now on, I will celebrate my birthday and be happy on this day. I believe that this is the day that God has made and He and all His angels are rejoicing because I was made!!! I won't be sad anymore.  Sure, things come up, like today my four year old had the biggest epic fit over a pair of pants (and at school--the first ever) and also today, I'm missing work because I'm not feeling well, and have to go see the doctor as well.  I even weighed myself to see if I made it to onderland, but that didn't happen either.  But despite the negative stuff, I am well, TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY AND I WILL BE HAPPY.

  14. Just about 4 months post-op and within 7 pounds of my goal. This morning I ran my fastest 2 miles at 12:20 average pace. I run faster when my dh runs with me. I haven't decided if this is a good thing or not..lol.. I do enjoy the company :)

I've come a long way in these 4 short months and it has been better than I imagined it would be. I love that I enjoy running and I am eating healthier then I ever have in my life. I feel hope for an active long life now where before I imagined myself dealing with the complications of having type 2 diabetes as I aged. Life is such a blessing and I am enjoying each new day!!

I'm glad the hair loss is slowing down. Mine started about two weeks ago and no matter all the threads I've read warning it would happen it's still freaky to run your hands through your hair and come out with a clump. RIP shower drain.

  16. 9/7 - I got my butt kicked. She did not hold back on cardio today. I crawled to the locker room. I sat on the floor for 20 minutes. I think I died at one point lol jk. It is all worth it though. I could not even lift my phone to take an after. I noticed that I am losing inches now.

i LOVE my fitness shirts and pants. I will be getting more shirts. The place I order from always has a special sale. https://www.thefitnessteeco.com/

  20. Sooo...I decided to keep a pair of brand new dress pants that I've never worn from the past two years (that I could also never wear due to them being way too small) for when I need a pair to wear. I decided to try them on this morning (for an important appointment this week) and they are now too big! Lol. :P

  21. 7/26 - Worst day EVER!! My dog was hit by a car and his back leg paw is broken. My mom had him off of the lease and he was peeing on some grass near the curb. He was walking on the edge to come back around when he fell into the street and a driver clipped his back right leg. The driver didn't even stop.

He is okay and just requires surgery to get pins in his right ankle. He has surgery on 7/28 in the morning.

I broke my Keto for the day. Anxious eating has always been my problem. I had Tostitos and salsa and just ate half a bag without realizing it. It took over an hour, however I still ate it.

7/27 - Got the price of how much this would cost. Over $5,000 for 3 nights stay, surgery, pins and painkillers. I cannot complain. It was funny to watch people look at me as I paid the medical bills up front. They were like, what does this young girl do and how much money does she make? I was looking at them like, I will pay anything for this dog. I just want to be able to take him home already. He is such a resilient dog though. He continues to try and get up although it hurts. I told him we will be twins (I have screws in my right ankle).

Kept to my keto today. Had beef chevy's for snacks. Sooo good.

Day 6 of a 2 week clear liquid diet...this sucks so bad!!  :47_tired_face:   I'm so frustrated and angry and FRUSTRATED!!  I am so hungry and want to eat so bad!  I can have sugar free jello, popsicles and Crystal Light but the artificial sweeteners are just so bad!  I keep telling myself I'm almost half done but honestly it's not helping much.  This better be freaking worth it...👿

Good luck to you.. this is typically the most challenging part of WLS as far as appetite. Take it one day at a time and remember this is so you have the best chance at having a smooth surgery as possible. Hang in there!

  24. Hello everybody I new to this forum but wanted to share my story . I started my weight loss journey on October 15 2016 when my surgery was scheduled  in Tijuana Mexico. I started a all liquid diet on the 17th of october 2016. On that day I weighed 268 pounds , my Vsg surgery was scheduled for October 27,2016 at 11am. On the day of surgery I weighed in at 258 pounds . The surgery went off with out a hitch. I was released the next day . For the first month I questioned the decision I had made . Nothing can prepare you for the huge life change that's to come. For the first time in my life I have control of my life , my eating and have regained my self confidence that had been gone for so long.  I'm almost 10 months out and have hit my ultimate goal of 150 pounds. I'm embarrassed to admit I never exercised during the 10 months , i always struggled to get my protein in and after work , kids and life I was always exhausted and not motivated. Now after 10 months post op I've started to go to the gym. I don't regret my decision and would do it over if given the opportunity. #Mynewlifeisfabulous:)

There are quite a few people I've seen post here they weren't working out too much. There are plenty of ways to get to the finish line, and you picked the route that would get you there. :)

I stay active, but wouldn't really say that I work out because of how little activity I can tolerate. If I push myself I sometimes get dizzy, or I get extremely hungry later in the day. I'd eventually love to add more activity in, but my #1 priority right now is losing weight. Congratulations on your success!

I usually eat oikos triple zero yogurt. I like plain yogurt, just not enough to eat on a daily basis. The oikos is very filling and and tastes pretty good (minimal sweetener taste). If you're not too crazy about plain yogurt I'd recommend this one.
