Sorry to hear that you're having a hard time with the shakes @Sosewsue61 have you tried different shakes? I had bought the chocolate and banana Premier Protein shakes from Costco, and some 4oz plastic cups with lids (like you'd get a side of guacamole in at a restaurant). Then I just pour out a 4oz serving 6x a day. Once I get cleared to blended/pureed, I think I'll be down to 4-5 meals a day. It can get boring, but having the pre-mixed shakes have been a huge time saver. I'm just focusing on getting enough water in between my shake portions now.

Yay Karen Marie! So glad you are doing well. I am strugglig to get in enough nutrition to not pass out, I can drink ok but just having trouble forcing those shakes down. Keep us posted.

I can only offer sympathy, sorry. It happens to a lot of people and doesn't seem to be anything to do but wait it out. Hair is in one of two phases every three months, resting or growing. I read it can take a year to stop shedding - likely in 4 months I will be crying over mine. You could try a wig or opt for a short fluffy haircut.

You need help. Please reach out to your doctor for guidance. Alcoholism is a physical as well as mental dependence, and cutting it out cold turkey could result in withdrawal symptoms.

I would love to go horseback riding again!!!! My love for horses has never changed. I was 12YO when I got my Mare Taffy. I rode every day. One way or the other I got up every morning went to the pasture and away we went. We got home just before dark!!! I had her from 12 years old until I had my 2nd child. I was 23YO and at first, I took my 5YO son with me but....I didn't know how to take 2 with me. So I ended up getting rid of her. She was the joy of my life until I had my babies. I still miss her so much, she was there for me so much more than anyone else could or would be. I hope my visions of her last days were resting and grazing on her sweet hay!!! Taffy, I love and miss you so much!!!

Thank you! Can't wait to get back on to provide an update post surgery My pre-op with my surgeon yesterday evening went great. Said all my pre-op tests looked really good and he didn't foresee any issues as far as he can tell/predict.

Ha ha yes many sewing machines! My addiction is showong!! I just bought a new serger! So slick w air threading. But I quilt too, longarm in the basement. I need to start Christmas presents. I am going down for barium swallow and ultrasound of my legs at 9 I think. I might get out of here late this afternoon w any luck !!

I made it!!! I have been in my private room since 10:46 am. I have walked twice, longer the second time. Pain tolerable w meds - 1000mg tylenol in IV, an anti-inflammatory, two little boost of dilaudid. Sat in chair for a couple hours, short nap. Will have swallow test tomorrow morning, then try sipping.
I have a nausea patch - scopolamine and it works for me, a little drowsy from it but I'll take that over the nausea.

Thanks for the update @Sosewsue61! Glad to hear all is going well so far after surgery for you!!! So I know you're just like my mom and have multiple sewing machines - which one are you going to play with the most during your recovery time?

Your hormones are going to be messed up during this process. Glad you are doing so well. Good luck.

Take heart and examine what you were feeling when you were eating off plan. Were you tired, nervous, feeling deprived or neglected, missing food? Journal this and see if you can pinpoint what was going on.
