HealthierMe193 got a reaction from ProudGrammy in 2 Years Post OP and struggling
I am 18 months out and am in the same boat. I did a pantry purge this morning and am looking forward to filling my home with healthy yummy foods again. You lost the weight the first time and know what it takes to do it again. For me I noticed coffee is a trigger food. I drink coffee and want "just a bite" of a donut and once I have that bite of donut how bad could Pasta be? It's a slippery slope of excuses that got me here in the first place! Think about trigger foods or activities that maybe are not supporting your healthier lifestyle. You got this! [emoji4]

HealthierMe193 reacted to KimTriesRNY in 48lbs to go...help!
I agree.
Taking it a step further, it is likely an unrealistic goal that you will lose 4 pounds a week to make goal weight in the time frame you have selected. Once you have less to lose, the losses are going to get smaller and itβs going to take longer to lose weight.
You have done fantastic so far and if you keep following your plan, you will probably lose the 15-20 pounds like Wanda mentioned. If you lose more great!
Either way you will look better in April than you could have dreamed two years ago, and that is worth celebrating!

I did my pantry purge first thing this morning! [emoji274] New day new start! The dogs thought they hit the lottery! Now to go out and fill my home with only healthy foods again. Thanks for taking the time to respond. [emoji4]

Hi HealthierMe193
Iβll be 3 years post surgery on the the 14th of this month and still maintain well.
Things that have helped me:
- Delay Breakfast. Most days I donβt eat to 10 or 11am. I feel this shrinks my stomach and when it comes time to eat I canβt eat too much.
- I go easy on the carbs. I still love my carbs but I try not to eat too much. Iβll have toast in the morning and then reduce carbs during the day.
- I mostly snack on Protein and a little fruit.
- I watch those sliders! Iβm still a sucker for chocolate and most days Iβll have a couple of pieces to control my cravings. But Iβm careful not to eat too many calorie dense nibbles, things that donβt feel me up.
- Iβm careful not to graze too much
Although I still have my bad days, and when I have them I accept it and I become very disciplined so I donβt completely full off the wagon.
Also in regards to determination, my surgery gave me amazing results, Iβm so terrified to go back to my old body. I buy nice clothes and to be honest Iβm really happy with my reflection and I feel healthy. Even 3 years later I still enjoy the simple act of putting on jeans and a t-shirt rather then a hole heap of layers. The thought of going back to my old me keeps me motivated.
Good luck on your journey, I hope you get back on track soon.

Try a pantry/kitchen purge. Really clean all the problematic foods out. Give them to neighbors and charity or just trash them. Start over again. For motivation considered joining our challenge

HealthierMe193 got a reaction from Liz The New Me in 18 months out and struggling!
Hey guys!
At my heaviest I was 363 and 1 year post op this summer I was down to 197. I worked so hard to get there and fought for every single pound lost! At my one year appointment my surgeon told me to be happy at 197 and accept it if I gained some back. Looking back I think I took this as permission to slack off instead of being proud of where I was. Now I am up to between 208-215 and I can't seem to find my way back. Anyone have suggestions on what got them back on track or kept their determination going? I need some motivation about now! I will find some before and after pictures to post. Any kind advise would be appreciated

Sorry you are struggling! Try increasing your Protein, cut out carbs and fat intake and move your body. If youβre already exercising, change your routine. This seems to help! Good luck!

HealthierMe193 reacted to greenreader in Inspiration from those who stalled and turned it around?
Hi there. I had my surgery at the end of 2017, and have lost a total of about 75 lbs. I feel like I did well until early October, and have been at a standstill, with lots of bad habits from my earlier life coming back in to play. I definitely am a stress eater, and have changed jobs, I am dealing with some difficult issues with my kids, and my parents are having lots of health issues, so the stress has piled up. A lot of this was out of my control, but making big changes as a new surgery patient was too much for me, but here I am, and I have to deal with it.
I started seeing a therapist, and have anti depression/anxiety meds which have finally seemed to level things out a bit. I think I am at the point where I am looking around and feeling like I have been through a big storm, but I want to get back on track.
I have about 65 lbs. to go to be at goal, and I know I can do it. I just need to forgive myself, and find some inspiration. Any advice or tips? Thanks in advance!

HealthierMe193 got a reaction from woodside in JULY SLEEVERS- How are you doing?
Hello July Sleevers!
I have officially lost 100 pounds in total!!!! I lost about 50 pounds before my 7/3 surgery and 50 after but I still think its a neat coincidence that I am 100 days after surgery and I hit 100 pounds lost in total! I am so excited for the future and this shows me that I can and I WILL do this.
Reading everyone's posts has helped to motivate and inspire me. Thank you for sharing your journey.

I have my pre op tomorrow and surgery on 7/3! Very nervous. I do love that my surgery is the day before Independence day. It seems fitting
