  1. That's not very encouraging. I know someone will come along and say "But the risks of being fat, you know the risks, etc it's worth it, etc etc etc" But that's easy to say while we are feeling well and nothing is gone wrong, but it's small consolation to someone who has it removed and is having pain or problems every day for the rest of their life.

    Pain in Sternum area.

Okay Kath! The throbbing is pretty bad tonight. I'm thinking I will have to go to soft for a while, because the 3 days on it after that PB did not seem to help and it's very swollen.

    Abnormal Pap

Just got a call from my gyno saying they found endometrial cells in my pap. He said the cells were normal, but that they should not be in the pap. I have to go into more tests because it's either nothing or Uterine cancer. :-( AT my last visit, he was very, very supporive of my getting the band, because he said, the weight will increase my risks of cancers like Uterine cancer. I got the band to avoid all that...:think

    Esophogeal Danger for Bandsters

Phyllis, I am so sorry!! I can understand your fear. One of the main reason's I got this was to lose weight so my GERD would resolve and lower the risk of cancer. I was just posting in another thread that I had GERD before banding and the banding did not relieve it, like it has for others. I wish I could add something other than how sorry I am.

    Anyone with acid reflux

I have acid reflux. I've had it for years, before banding and still do, although it's not as bad. It's still there. I wonder at how some of the other bandsters have had their dissapear after banding. Lucky!

    Pain in Sternum area.

Hey! I'm back from the endoscopy! Doc said everything looks fine. Said my throat and my band is a-okay. YAY! What a nice gastro doc he was too. I'm wondering if I irritated my pouch or stoma after my golf ball incident? I rested it for 3 days, but perhaps that wasn't enough? I wonder what it is ?

    Pain in Sternum area.

That's true (I hope!) I'll post later what they find with the scope Kath. Thank you. I'll be honest, I'm freaking about this. I want to say "take this thing out of me!!"
  10. Thanks lildarlin, That happened to me twice 2 weeks ago for the first time, and I've had that feeling ever since.

    Throwng up at night

I'm also worried about the GERD and the esphogeal cancer. I had GERD prior to banding and it never went away.

    Pain in Sternum area.

Going for my scope tomorrow and an upper GI on Wendsday. I had to cancel all the weeks's plans (and it was a busy one!). The throbbing is much worse at night, which makes me think it's an infection. What if the band is infected??? :-(

    Esophageal spasm

Did the doctor say what caused the ulcer? The reason i ask is that tomorrow I am going for a scope, because I have a horrible throbbing pain where my band is. I think it's either infection or something is up with my esophagus. But when I called I heard the receptionist say "We ahve had a lot of band people with ulcers in here lately"

    Slipped band too

Oh my god, Pachoulli, I can't believe this happened to you. I am so, so very sorry. :-( You were banded not long before me.

    Pain in Sternum area.

Thank you Kathy. I read those threads and can relate to the frightenng pain. I don't feel like there is anything stuck, but that doesn't mean there isn't. What worries me is the throbbing feeling in the band area and the sore throat. I'm wondering if I have infection. This is so scary.

Hi Kath, Actually I don't have a fill at all. I never had a fill. :-( Just called my doctor's gastro and they are doing a scope on me tomorrow.

    Pain in Sternum area.

Okay I'm scared now. Th epain in my sternum is still there. It's starting to throb too. It's between my breasts and high where my esophagus is I'm guessing .It's gnawing and no amount of acid reducers is helping. I've also developed a sore throat for a week now. My Upper GI is 3 weeks away. I think I need a scope. Advice???
  18. Can I ask all of you what it feels like when you have eaten too fast or the wrong food? Where do you feel the pain and does it last for a few days? Is it a gnawing pain etc?

    Website advise

Hi Plunder, just some observation and opinions. On the True Folk site, I think the font on the title page should be smaller. (the area where you are describing your business) and personally, if it were me, I'd take off the Double D Donations link from this site. I'd keep the business separate from the donations needed for surgery. I don't think the two mix in a professional sense. I'm a Rennie too, and I know we have a more relaxed view of things, but if I'm looking to buy, it's a different story. Great costumes on the costumes page. I would suggest using thumbnail images with the option to click on them for a larger view. Also, maybe having someone wear them instead of on a hanger. IOther than that, it looks great!

    Pain in Sternum area.

Thanks to all of you who responded, it really does help me get through this. I'm having bad reflux. Anyone take prescription Nexium and get dizzy?? It's making me dizzy. Eflicka: Yup that was it, the golfball. And it was pasta! The BestMe: Your right lady. I'm trying to hang in here with all that it is going on. It's overwhelming. It seems all I do is go to doctors now and tests. If this thing slipped I'll kick myself because it was my fault for eating too much too fast.

Yup, listen to The Best Me, she knows her stuff.

    Pain in Sternum area.

There is some reflux going on too. Just got off the phone with my doc's office. I am having a upper GI (again) next week to see if I slipped. If I have I don't know what I will do!! I just don't know if I can handle it mentally or physically anymore. :-( I'm bummed out. Really feeling low now. Everytime I have a test done or any procedure, it costs me out of pocket money I can't afford. And i just had surgery on my uterus yesterday. All these medical problems and tests are really getting me down (and in debt)

    Pain in Sternum area.

Hey all, I went on soft food for a ffew days and the soreness went away. But now it's back again! It's happening with foods I have had no problems with before! It seems it's happening with any kind of solid food. What the heck is going on?

    Abnormal Pap

Thank you all!!! Surgery was easier than I thought it would be. They gave me the choice of general anesthesia or an epidural. I went for the epidural. And although getting that was frightening and at one point I questioned my choice, I'm glad I made it. Recovery was 100 times easier for me as I do not do well with the anesthesia. The anesthesiologist said "I just gave you something to relax you. It will hit in about 30 seconds. I said "why Tom, you slipped me a Mickey. Then 30 seconds later I said "I'm feeling the love". I also told them I was no longer responsible for anything I said. So I was dopey and drugged for the procedure, but "awake". Did not feel a thing and at one point woke up enough to see the monitor. I said something and Dr. Mandel said "yes, that's your insides on the screen". Then I asked him what was his favorite dessert. He said ice cream. Then I asked everyone else too. They all said ice cream and I slipped back into la-la land again. I'm sore from the epidural. That was weird, having them in my spine like that. Weird. And instinctively you reject them going in there. They had a tough time with mine. I asked my doctor if he would be able to tell if it was cancer and he said he is pretty good eye about that, but I did not see him after surgery, only Brett did and he did not ask him. He said he would tell my boyfriend , so he didn't, and that worries me.
