I did the same thing! Don't forget to get chapstick!!! That is my number 1 advice for surgery.

    Finally got my date :)

Don't forget chap stick. You will be very dry after surgery, especially your lips. I couldn't get enough chap stick!

    2 months post op progress

    You look fabulous!
  5. 5 days post op and going to a party tonight. Of course it's a pot luck party and everyone brings a dish. I have my bottle of crystal light ready. I haven't told any of my friends about this surgery and I don't think I am ready to tell them yet. Is it wrong just to say I am in a diet? Does that make me a bad person for omitting the big truth??

    5 days post op

Thank you all. I went with hernia surgery! And worked like a charm! The funny thing is that it is no secret that I am fat. I get that. I've always gotten that. But this surgery feels like my super power tool that I want to keep for myself....right now anyway. And I am not in the right place yet to explain to people why I went this route. I love this app and all of you because you all know exactly what it is to be like to be the fat friend and now to be the one making this huge decision. I wish you all well. And I thank you for being here for me.

  8. Feeling good. My one incision site is sore. But other than that I am up and about. Right now I am on clear liquids. Monday I can start adding protein back into my diet.
  9. Checking in to see how everyone is feeling!!!
  10. If you really need a pair, go to a thrift store. No point spending full cost on a pair of pants that won't fit you for long.
  11. Good bye. ..McDonald's Sweet Tea. I will miss your sweetness. You are my most favorite drink in the world. I spent good money on you week after week. But that's all over. Good bye....candy. Oh candy. Our relationship is almost 40 years old. Many times you have been my best friend. Any and all types of candy. I have loved you all. There is something so fabulous about eating candy...but the reality is that you were a bandaid to my life. If I got upset, happy, mad or sad...you were always there. But that's all over. Good bye Cool Ranch Doritos and Lime Tostitos. You two were good for a night time hang out. But that's all over. Good bye Soda...esp Wild Cherry Pepsi. I mean come on your WILD and quick and easy to find at every check out aisle in every store. But that's all over. Today I am breaking up with all of you. I am starting my Day 1 of PreOp. Your power and control over me are no more. I am ready to make new friends. Friends that will take care of my body, heal my body, nourish my body....not slowly try to kill me. You and I have had a lifetime together. But your time has ended and mine is just beginning....and you will not have any power left over me. Sincerely, The girl who loved you too much but realizes she deserves more.

    Weight gain 2-days post op

I had my surgery on the 20th. The first thing the nurse told me was to avoid the scale for the next 2 weeks. During surgery they pump you full of air. Plus you probably had an IV giving you continuous fluids. She told me that it is not out of the norm to gain 5 lbs because of this. Your body is healing and you have to give it time to catch up.

    Good Bye...

I am actually feeling pretty well. Already on my way home. The first 6 hours after surgery were a little hard with being nauseated. But once the meds kicked in, I was much better.

    Good Bye...

Well yesterday morning, the 20th, I was sleeved. My good byes worked on my preop diet. My surgeon said my liver looked beautiful due to lack of sugar. And I lost 17lbs. Now, the hard part will really start because it's realizing there's no going back now. This is my new future. This will be our future....but you know what? We got this. If you had a moment of weakness....do not hate yourself for it. Admit it and move on. Just like alcoholics take it day by day....so do we with our food. IIA sending good vibes to all of you.

That is so funny because I spent yesterday cleaning the house and doing laundry. Today I did grocery shopping. My husband said I am acting like I'm nesting again LOL.

  23. OK I started my pre op in Friday and I was feeling pretty good about it... until today. I'm all liquids and today I am missing food. Like real food. It's almost making me sad. Anyone else feel like this?
