  1. I have not had my surgery as of yet but if it is anything like my ankle, I should be fine. I am returning back to work after 7 days for now. If I need the additional time, my job is aware and have the FML forms ready just in case. I do not think I will need to use them as I got board after the first 4 days. I will keep you posted as my Surgery is March 26th.

Hello, I have a question about pain/recovery after sleeve. How long does it take for most people to return to work/school? Thanks!

  2. I would tell her to not use food as her best friend when she got to college.

I would tell her that this decision will be the hardest thing she would ever have to do but she will do it and be proud.

I would inform her that she was almost going to end up like her dad (which she feared more than anything).

I would hug her and say don't lose your love for adventure and the outdoors because it will keep you healthy and one day you will miss it.

And most importantly, I would tell her that she is an awesome kid and will be an even more awesome adult.

That people would look up to her and think she is brave because of the surgery she is getting. (But hope that would fix the habits before she would need it).

I could go on for days about what I would tell my 16 year old self.

I dont know where your picking up attitude but whatever you read into whatever you want to read into...You in fact were responding directly to the comment I made about surgery in Mexico so I responded with my opinion and personal thoughts on it. nuff said. Good day maam.

I think you need to reread my comment so you can realize that I was not speaking to you. YOUR opinion is your opinion, if you do not feel like Mexico is a good choice that is your opinion. However, do not come at me because I told her to look up topics regarding the surgery in another country (not at all mentioning you). Now I am not going to do a back and forth with a person of your level. Have a good day and next time read carefully before you post negatively.

I simply said I personally would never go to Mexico. The regulations are way different down there, and I dont trust it. Not to get into a pissing match about Mexico surgeons, just not for me. I read horror stories on here of people who had leaks on the plane trip home and wound up in ICU. Just do your research.

UMMMM.... Maybe you need to bring your attitude down to a Zero because my comment was not directed to you. You should read that I offered her an option. I did not Quote you nor read your Quote. The world does not revolve around you and what you have posted. To make sure I am talking to you, I have now Quoted you.

How do I do a status update? I tried searching but it just came up with an unanswered post. Thank you!

Hi, I figured it out. It is something that needs to be enabled for the option to appear on the "+Create".

To enable status updates. Do the following:

    1) Click your username on the top right hand side (Then Click Account Settings)

    2) On the right hand side, you will see edit profile.

    3) Under entering your birthday, you will see "Enable Status Update".

Then save it, it will show up like @biginjapan said.

Yeah, I keep fumbling around with this since the new update. But here it is:

In the top menu bar, next to your username on the right, it should say "+Create". If you click on that there is a dropdown menu and the very first item is for status updates! Actually that create button is a shortcut to all the main things you may want to do on this site.

    Cheers!

  6. To change your city and state. Do the following:

    1) Click your username on the top right hand side (Then Click Account Settings)

    2) On the right hand side, you will see edit profile.

    3) Scroll down and input the information you would like people to know.

    I hope that helps.

Now, there are many people on here whom have gone to Mexico for surgery. Search some of the topics, as they also refer great surgeons that would help you.

  7. That is interesting. I rather chew my gummy vitamins like a big girl lol. I have always been skeptical of anything that is a patch and is supposed to penetrate the skin. I rather take the shot in my butt every 3 months as birth control then trust some patch.

Patches lol "First they're Sour and Then they're Sweet". Please excuse my silliness today. I believe it is due to my Pre-Op diet.

The best way to trust that you are getting your Vitamins is through taking them orally.

I do not have the option to create a status update. I am wondering, do you have be of a higher ranking to create the updates?

  9. It may seem harder because you are actively trying to be social. The hardest thing is putting yourself out there. It will get easier as you interact with people more. Just by coming out of your shell, you will get a little more comfortable.

Submitted to insurance Monday, approved today. Surgery is 3/21. I think I freaked out the minute I got approved.

I completely understand. I am doing the last bit of test for my clearance. My stress test is next week Wednesday. Thank god they all work in the same area and pass the information quickly.
