    Vitamin struggles, need suggestions!

Have you tried Alive! Chewable Calcium with D3? I use it and I have not problems. It reminds me of gummy bears. I also use Alive! Women's Multivitamin. Unfortunately not every flavor is delicious. When I plan these vitamins, I take two of the same. Also buy the small pill containers. I have 8 (see picture below). That's an example of one of them. They come in all colors. I have one of each and stack them in a rainbow. It makes me laugh but also reminds me. I do a pack and go for the week. In addition there is the app called Round. I use it to because it sends notifications to my phone to remind me to take my vitamins. I hope this helps you.

    Pics

It is okay. You look amazing. The best thing is that you see and notice your mistakes and are willing to change them. You posting your pics shows that we can reach our goals, fall off the wagon for a little while but also get back to it.

    Three Week Post-Op Stall: Help!

I am sure you already know but watch your carbs too. That maybe holding you back. The general consensus is 20g of carbs or less. Also try tracking your food intake. This can give you a better idea on where you succeeding and where you need to work on. Also remember, that you are still healing and your body is going crazy trying to take care of itself. Right now it won't be worried about weight loss. It is probably just holding onto the weight due to shock. Give it time, you will lose again. Also I stall for 1 week and lose big the next. Try to keep a weekly track of weight loss too. It actually helps you figure it your bodies partners. Mines goes like this every month: week 1: Major loss (3 - 4 lbs) week 2: okay loss (2 - 3 lbs) week 3: little weight loss (1 - 2 lbs) week 4: barely any weight loss (0 - 1 lbs) I hope this helps.
  4. I was in the same boat. Try setting a timer. 1 - 2 small tiny sips every 10 minutes. I did this and it helped. I was not able to keep down soup or anything else. I could only sip water. I did this the first week and then the second week got easier. I had tons of back pain, I could not stand up straight. What helped was a hot compress on my back and sitting in the shower with hot water running down. I hope you get better soon!!!

    Not losing after gastric sleeve?

I would suggest staying away from the scale too. My first month, I did not step on the scale. It was also because I was having a horrible recovery and did not care if I lost weight.
  6. 6/26 - I had a bad day. My bf and I broke up. He stated that he preferred me bigger and that had he known things would change that he would have never supported the decision. When I asked how things changed, he stated the following:

    1) You put on makeup more

    2) You get your nails done more

    3) You do your hair more

    4) You dress differently. You do not cover up as much

    5) Guys look at you more (Ding! Ding! Ding!)

    6) They hit on you more (Jackpot!!)

I was stunned as he continued on his rant. At that point he told me he needed space and that he felt he needed time to get used to the new situation.

Before this journey I would ate my feelings away. I would have cried, watch romantic movies, Jack and Rose would have been my idols, my heart would have not gone on and I would have gained 5 lbs in one day. However, I felt no desire to stuff my face. Actually I felt nothing. After thinking about what he said and talking to my mom, I decided to end the relationship. I do not want that toxic attitude in my positive environment. I made a hard choice, however I am sure I made the right choice.

6/27 - Still followed my Keto diet. I did have a sugar free Popsicle. Went to the gym. Noticed something disturbing, my boobies are starting to have loose skin :48_weary:. I knew it would happened but I was hoping it would not. I boobs do not fit in my bra's anymore. They are sliding under the wire like peek-a-boo. SMH.

It's okay. Thanks for all the support. I just did not think that he would be that way. He is fit, muscular and works out religiously. I thought he would be proud of me. I do not look like the females he typically date. Part of me thinks that's why he is insecure. His exes either treated him badly or cheated. Maybe his fear was that I would do the same once I lost all the weight. Whatever the reason, it's unacceptable. Really thought he was it.

  7. Sorry I am sooo late. I will make it short and quick.

6/15 - Keto nothing out of the ordinary.

6/16 - Gym and healthy eating.

6/17 - I had a small I mean baby spoon of Red Velvet cake for my b-day and I was out for the count. I had to use the bathroom a lot. My mom said, "uh hmmm. was it worth it?". I whispered, " Yes" lol. Just an overall bad day. I broke the diet and ate carbs and sugar. Shame Shame !!!! Lol I am only Human.

6/18 - The cake was still messing with me so I barely ate or even drank water. I was exhausted all day. Weighed in at 209.8 lbs.

1-Month Post Op Overall Loss: 14.6

2-Month Post Op Overall Loss: 8.8 lbs

3-Month Post Op overall loss: 10.8 lbs

6/19 - Barely ate or drank water again. I just slept most of the day away. Spent a lot of time in the bathroom.

6/20 - Still followed the Keto Diet.

6/21 - Still followed the Keto Diet. Still time, adding breakfast foods to the option instead of a shake or protein shot.

6/22 - Breakfast: Baked Turkey Bacon (3 Slices), 1 Egg white. 1 Romaine Lettuce leaf.

    Snack: 14 Olives

Lunch: 2 oz of ground chicken, mild salsa, 1 tsp of sour cream, and 1 romaine lettuce leaf.

    Snack: Sugar Free Popsicle.

Dinner: 2 oz of ground chicken, mild salsa, 1 tsp of sour cream, and 1 romaine lettuce leaf.

    Snack: 1 pickle

    6/23 - Breakfast: 3 Egg Whites

Lunch: Homemade Chicken Salad - no dressing.

Dinner: Pickles and Sugar Free Popsicle.

6/24 - Went to a friends baby shower. They actually had healthier food options. Met a few of her extended family whom had Bariatric Surgery. One woman (weighing 392 lbs) had the bypass 17 years ago. She said back then there was not a pysch eval, waiting period or even a pre-authorization. She said she went to the doctor Monday and that Thursday she had the surgery. She showed me all the scars from access skin removal. She told me that nothing prepares you for the disappointment you will feel when you work hard and you do not look the way you thought. She had to have a full body lift and breast augmentation. It was soo enlightened to speak with someone whom was from that time and had the experience. She told me that sugar kills her but rice and bread is her fave. She stated that she got down to 125 lbs and felt soo unattractive. She stated that she gained her weight back up to 185 lbs and have maintained that weight for over 10 years.

6/25 - Had my Keto Meal.

Breakfast: Baked Turkey Bacon (3 Slices), 1 Boiled Egg white.

    Snack: 14 Olives

Lunch: 2 oz of chicken, 1 tsp of sour cream, and 2 romaine lettuce leaf.

    Snack: Sugar Free Popsicle.

Dinner: 2 oz of Chicken and Romaine Lettuce with 1/2 tomato.

    Snack: 1 pickle

My best friend is trying to get me to try Isagenix (https://www.isagenix.com/en-us/products/weight-loss). She has lost 55 lbs since February on it. It is like $378 a month. I am like the hell!! Bro whom has that money. She is really excited and she wants to me to try it so bad. I am tempted. Keto has been awesome but I am bored now and want to try something else. I think I am a Fad Diet Groupie.

Oh and the Hydrate. On the days when I focus on water. I am barely eating. I love those days. Food does not be on my mind. Below I have screen shot my progress. So yayy. Keto has really helped me get back on track.

@Newme17 Thank you!!! Yes I put ice in mines. In addition, I place it in the freezer for 5 - 10 minutes. I know it is against the rules but it makes my water colder too. I cannot help it. I ended up telling her no for now. I just like trying new things all the time. I am one of those people that tries something just for the experience.

@Mowryrocks I know that Isagenix has been around for awhile. I consider anything that I try in which someone recommended it to me a "fad". That includes clothing, cars and my job lol.

    Any New York City Sleevers?

Congrats on making this decision. I am in Bed Stuy NYC. I was sleeved in March.
  9. 6/8 - KETO KETO KETO. I am trying everything I can with KETO. Nothing out of the ordinary.

6/9 - Breakfast: Had two egg whites, and 1 slice turkey bacon. Lunch: Turkey lettuce wrap (delicious). Dinner: Protein shake. Got my Hidrate bottle and immediately fell in love. I went as far as purchasing another one in Teal. I plan on having all the colors. Yayyy. Having difficulty with this 64 oz water intake I see. All this time, I thought I was drinking way more water than I was. SMH.

6/10 - Meal prepped for the week. Mozzarella stuffed chicken with Mushrooms. It is soo delicious. Low carb and high in protein. The remaining prep for breakfast was turkey bacon (BLT) with lettuce as the bread.

6/11 - Nothing out of the ordinary happened.

6/12 - Could not get out of bed. I felt burnt out and just exhausted. I went to work but could not function enough to hit the gym. I slept so long.

6/13 - Still felt exhausted. No gym and had a massive headache. It could possibly be this NYC heat. My fan is not cutting it anymore.

6/14I actually had enough energy to workout (with the help of C4). I have been slacking in my vitamins for the evening so I am wondering if this could be the reason why I was out of it. It does not help that I am overworked as well. However, that C4 gave me a kick that I needed. I still have a buzz going. I hope I do not crash. I only took 1/2 scoop which is below the recommended. My mom went and brought some organic Turkey Burgers lol. She was sooo excited and happy. She goes, "Look Mocha. It is for you. I know you cannot have the other food at the cookout but I got you some Turkey burgers and I will make some chicken and shish kabobs for just for you :D." She had the biggest smile. It was too cute.

Well this is it for now. I am sorry that I do not post regularly like I used to. I am taking on a new business project and it is taking a lot of my time.

Well here is mines for today. Only 9 oz for far. I am so focused on water because I used to feel so dehydrated that now I am not focusing on eating enough. Ever since getting the hidrate, my calorie intake has dropped to 350-450 when I normally would take in 650-750 a day.

  10. 6/5  - Still doing my Keto Diet. It is working. I am very proud of sticking to it.

6/6 - Went to the surgeon for a 2 month followup. I weighed in at 213.4 lbs. He was very happy at my progress and the way I am healing. He said that amount of weight loss is amazing. I went to get my blood work done to make sure that my vitamins and nutritional intake is great.

6/7 - Had a Glazed Donut. It was the best Donut I have ever had. I THREW IT UP within 10 minutes. I needed to do it to myself. I was starting to slowly eat something I was not supposed to so I just gave in and now that I know I cannot have it. I feel better.

I have a few freinds that are doing the KETO DIET. They are doing great. Most of them have had WLS. My hubby tried his hardest to do Keto but the meal plan, was to prep the food form the part of the week. We were set up with recipes for that week. But he really didn't care for the food. I DON'T care for leftovers so I didn't even try it. But I think it is a great program for sure. I have heard and seen lots of peeps doing great on it. Good Luck

    2. Sleeve1stFitNext

      Sleeve1stFitNext

Yeah. With keto you really have to meal prep and since I am lazy and like to just roll and go, I can eat left overs for days. It saves me money when it comes to outside food too. Thank you. I am trying.

  11. 5/31 - Yeah that whole liquid diet thing is not going to work for me. The protein drinks made me sick and I just could not force myself to do it. Oh well. Back to keto is was. Instead of the gym, I ended up a BJ's with my Mom. She had me pushing around a flatbed cart with 4 waters boxes, 2 pepsi boxes, 2 coke boxes, 4 kool aid jammers, 2 Gatorades and 2 powerades. The hardest work out I ever had. I was sweating in the frozen food section lol.

6/1 - Had my off. I went to a party at one of my friends house. I put on makeup and dressed really pretty. I was feeling myself. I got hit on by 3 guys. I was just  awkward because I am not used to that much attention. It was really weird. I was like, "Thank you. Goodnight." the whole time lol.

6/2 - Continued with the keto diet. I have however made some alterations to it. I make sure to get in 50 - 70g of protein a day. I keep the carbs below 20g and the fat falls in where ever they do. It is actually a pretty easy diet to follow.

6/3 - Nothing special. Just a regular day.

6/4 - Lost 4.6 lbs this week!! I was having a minor stall and my month of May was not that great. I am just happy with the progress that I made. I am 214.2 lbs. I just never envisioned that I would be at this weight.

    1. Newme17

      Newme17

Yay! Sounds like a great week you had. Glad you didn't go back to the pre-op...just another diet. 😊 Find what you are going to do forever hon, that's key. That'll be a lifestyle and not a "diet".

    2. Apple1

      Apple1

I agree with Newme. Find a sustainable lifestyle that you are 100% comfortable with. I know this is sometimes easier said then done... I think you are doing great, 4.6 pounds lost is a lot!!

    3. Sleeve1stFitNext

      Sleeve1stFitNext

I really enjoy keto and meal prepping for it. I find that I do not have to think about it too much and I have so many options when it comes to the recipes. I just have the difficulty shopping and finding certain key snacks and ingredients. My whole foods and trader joes look like a Walmart Super Center.

  12. 5/29 - I thought the gym at work would be open. I forgot that the trainer/owner of the gym is a Veteran and he stated that he would not be there and it would be closed. I came home to my brother and mom arguing. It was the funniest thing I had ever heard. My brother really wants to bleach his hair a Honey Blonde in the front. My mother is against it. I am going to try and repeat the conversation because it was hilarious:

Brother: "I will not conform to your tyrannical rules you DICTATOR!"

Mother: "I said NO! This is my household and you are a child and have no say."

Brother: "This is my body and I am trying to express myself externally."

Mother: "I DON'T care what you are trying to express. I will express my belt across your (explicit) if you do not leave me alone."

Brother: "Well you let Teeara dye her hair the honey color and did not say anything."

Mother: "Teeara is a grown woman, whom works 40/hr weeks plus over time, pays bills, cooks and did not fail any of her classes."

Brother: "Why do you always have to bring Teeara into things."

At this point, there were tears running down my eyes.   Best conversation that I listened to.

5/30 - Decided that I wanted to lose 17 lbs by my birthday. Hmmmm. Now how can I do that? My Pre-op Diet!!! I decided to do a 2 week liquid diet again. I figured that this worked for me during that time, so it should work again. Sometimes we have to go back to the beginning to succeed. I am soo hype about it. I have two protein shakes and 1 meal like before.

I went to the gym and worked out. Nothing special.

  13. 5/28 - It is officially shark week:249_whale:. Omg!!! I feel like I am dying. Ladies, do your breast really hurt during this time? Mine's hurt to even brush against them.

Shitty day. Tummy ache and all. I ended up in the back of my office sleep on the floor for 1 hour. I had made food (2 meals) for the day but I only eat 1 of them. I barely drank any water. I know I am dehydrated today.

Went to Target and brought another food scale (broke mines), measuring cups, Vitamins (running low). The most embarrassing thing happened. The really cute guy from Vitamin Shoppe, literally came to say hello while I was picking out Tampons :(. I was like, "OH COME ON!"

Listen, I know I have a bf and he is amazing, however this is my Vitamin Shoppe bae. I go to that store all the time, we know each other on a first name basis. My face has never been so red a before a day in my life and I have had my pants fall to my ankles (in public, getting off of a bus at a crowded bus stop) because my jeans were too big.

Hon the only time my breast hurt was when I was pregnant. 😂

    Gastric sleeve time off work

I was supposed to be out for 5 days, however I choose to add an additional 5 days.
  15. 5/27 - Had a good day.

Breakfast: Two scrambled egg whites and 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese.

Lunch: 3 Lettuce Wraps (6 oz of turkey, 1 povolone cheese  slice and 2 pickles)

    Snack: 14 olives

Dinner: Chicken Salad (4 oz of chicken, 1/2 cup of mozzarella, romaine lettuce, guacamole, sour cream)

Sounds like a great day. 😊

    2. Sleeve1stFitNext

      Sleeve1stFitNext

      It was no complaints.

  16. 5/25 - Went to the gym and worked out cardio. My shoulders were really killing me from the workout the day before. I did not get to see the trainer today because he does not oversea cardio days. I ended up working out for an hour and trying to keep my heart rate in cardio.

I went home and started reading up on Ketogenic diets more. I found out that when Bariatric patients are required to do a liquid diet (low in carbs), we end up putting out body into a Ketogenic state. This allows our body to start burning fat as a energy resource. I was really intrigued and decided to do a full Ketogenic diet as an experience. I have foods that I omitted (red meats, bacon). I very barely would eat red meat prior to surgery so it was easy to omitted that option. I meal prepped enough chicken for the week. I can eat YASSO  frozen yogurt ice cream which is 100 calories and low in sugar with 5g of protein. I used to eat them for dessert twice a week. I made chicken breast, brocolli, mozzarella cheese (reduced fat). The remaining chicken breast, I am using to follow the Ketogenic Diet now.

5/26 - Went to my Granny's house to spend time with her. She loves seeing my progress and oh baby does she like to hear about the foods I can and cannot eat. She enjoys seeing my meal preps and just praises me for sticking to staying away from junk food.

For breakfast: I had boiled egg whites (hate the yoke).

For snack: I had 7 olives and a powerade zero calorie drink.

For Lunch: I had 4 oz of chicken breast, 1 tsp of guacamole and 1 tbsp of sour cream.

For snack: the remainder of my brocolli and cheese.

For Dinner: I will have 4 oz of salmon and 1 tsp of guacamole.

I have attached a picture below of my portion8 container. This takes me about 45 minutes to eat in it's entirety.

And a picture of the happiest baby I know. My little cousin.

Good luck with the Keto. I was eating low carb for about 5 months before my surgery. It was great at lowering my bs and I did lose 20 pounds. However: my cholesterol and triglycerides went up a lot. I stopped eating red meat also. Steak is a big trigger food for me so i have to stay away from it.

I don't blame you on the the vegan. I love my meat and cheese too much.

    2. Sleeve1stFitNext

      Sleeve1stFitNext

@Apple1 Thank you. That is one of the things I worry about. Cholesterol mainly. I just do not want to eat soo much fat that I end up causing more damage then good. Yeah I have never really been a red meat eater. I prefer chicken and turkey.

    3. Apple1

I eat a lot of fish, chicken, and turkey... well I used too..lol tomorrow will be my first time trying some baked salmon. I figured that would be a good meat to start with since it is so soft.

  17. 5/24 - Got a full 8 hours of sleep:69_zzz:. I woke up feeling amazing:D. Went to the gym and today was weight lifting. We were working on arms. I BARELY sweat at the gym but today, I was sweating puddles. The start of my workout, my knees were sweating.

He hd me doing knee raises. I was sliding of the machine because of the sweat lol. I could hold myself up 10 seconds at a time. That was enough to lift my knees and then bring them back down. Then I had to do 10 minutes of the rowing machine that has water. He was yelling "ROW!! ROW!!". I look over at him<_< like: Yell in my ear one more time and I am going to ROW!! your ass across this floor lol. I guess he took the hint from my face and started whispering "ROW"

I ate a tuna salad from Subway. No additional dressing. This subway uses a small (1/2) scooper. I will admit a shocking fact but hey, I am human but I ate a whole Turkey Roll with no cheese. It took 6 hours but I did it. lol

    3. Sleeve1stFitNext

      Sleeve1stFitNext

@Sweet as peaches Awww thank you!! You will get there and it will the most amazing feeling. That confidence to give a trainer the look, really shocked me. 1 year ago, I would have been like, "Okay. I am rowing." lol all while whispering it.

@Newme17 The gym time has been awesome. Honestly, I did not realize how much I missed it until i was weight lifting. That Row machine is a killer. My shoulders are still sore from that workout. That means it is working and I am loving it.

  18. Unfortunately, for some it is bad. I had it bad. I also do not regret it. With me being in pain 24/7, my views of this surgery and food have forever been changed. I will never want to do something like this again. This is a one time thing. This is my last shot and this painful. I think that if I had a smooth recovery, I would not really have been inclined to change my relationship with food that much. Now, I eat to live and I choose the best and most healthiest food I can find. That is because I do not want to go backwards. I want to continue going forward and finding new receipts and foods to try. It gets better I promise it does.

    Dreaming About Cookies

Oh it is normal. Lol I had a dream that was sooo real I thought I had eaten ice cream. My dream was me walking through a Supermarket and I cam to a giant freezer with every one of my favorite Edy's Ice Cream. I had a spoon. I opened each ice cream and took a spoonful and ate it. I then closed the ice cream and put it back neatly. I backed away slowly as to not get caught lol. Our love of foods really play with our emotions lol.

    Regret

It is okay. I had regret. I call it buyers remorse. It will make you rethink every life decision you made. However, I promise you being that I am 2 months post-op, it gets easier and you will feel better. Right now it is uncomfortable and the pain maybe unbearable but do know it gets betters. I do not regret it now at all. Remember, this is a non refundable transaction, you cannot take it back. You can only think positive and push forward.

    a little help & advice :/

It took me 7-days to go. I had nothing but warm tea and hot baths. I would force myself to walk. I was not very happy because it was causing back pains. I also used a warm compress on my tummy to help relax and try to release some of the gas.
  22. 5/23 - Was supposed to go to the gym but I woke up feeling like a dying flower. I will be honest with the fact that yesterday I did not drink enough. I thought I did but I did not apparently. I was out of breathe, I was light headed and I was just exhausted. I just spent most of today drinking water and trying to re-hydrate myself. i wish that darn Hidrate 2.0 would hurry up and arrive. I am like hurry up!!!! I want it now!!!

I ate beans, chicken, lettuce and tomatoes for lunch. I had watermelon for snack. I have a protein shake that I am forcing myself to drink because I want more protein.

Tomorrow will be a new day. I will be going to the gym.

I did get the email but I thought it would be, "Hey we have shipped your item. Here is your tracking number." They are just teasing me. I was soo sad when I realized that it is being sent next week.

    How do you feel?

It is time for a vacation. I do agree that it gets tiring when people constantly ask you questions about your weight loss and what you eat? However, it is just people whom are curious.

What is your favorite way to stay active on the rainy days?

I purchased the Booty Max just for shits and gigs. I use it on rainy days when my ankle hurts just working on arms lol.

    Feeling Kinda Meh.

This morning I woke up feeling like a dying plant. I was out of breath and completely exhausted. I had to drink water. Once I did that I felt a lot better. I am sorry to hear that you were diagnosis with Diabetes. I know many of us get the surgeries to help. I agree that it just might be the reason why you are feeling MEH.
