  1. How far out are you? Some people can only take a couple of bites and start to feel full, but i was able to eat 3-4oz when i started soft foods at 2weeks. remember to eat slow and i still chew everything pretty much to a puree consistency at 6 wks out
  2. Yes so normal, the day off my surgery i turned the car around twice to go back home lol.. i am almost 6 weeks out the first 2-3 wks you will feel regret bc everyone around you are eating normal, but once your body gets used to everything and you start soft foods youll be fine. I dont regret a thing, and i am 46lbs down!
  3. At 4 weeks out i was allowed regular foods. You should chew everything up so finely anyways
  4. I didnt self pay but got the bill in the mail, if insurance didnt pay id have to pay 34k for sleeve in pa. Thats with a 2 night stay though
  5. I also have a scale but if i put 4oz of turkey lunch neat and cheese on the scale for 4 oz its a massive amount i feel.
  6. I eat the go lean cereal, its pretty good protein. Thank you!
  7. Hi guys, just seeing how you measure/weigh food that is pretty light weight. For dinners i always weigh 4oz portions but for lighter items like lunch meats/salads/cereals im just not sure.. Should i be looking at doing a cup of food? Or do you just usually make up a plate and eat until you feel satisfied. Bc i feel like i can eat a whole bowl of cereal lol
  8. Has anyone tried protein chips? Debating on ordering some, they are 21g of protein and only 5g or carbs per bag. And now i kinda only have yogurt or string cheese. Any recommendations on soft protein bars would be nice? im not a huge fan of real chewy ones. just starting regular foods, its scary going into the regular food world lol
  9. I was excited to find a flat bread pizza lean cuisine because it said 20g protein and 0 trans fat, i got it home and realized it had 60carbs?
  10. Try room temp and flavored water. At first i was the same and thats all i vould handle my surgeon said it is esophagus spasms, they put me on a liquid med and worked like magic. I was only on it 1 week and it went away
  11. The bad taste is ketosis, it sucks but the only way to get rid of it is to keep drinking. Sounds like dehydration, maybe try to up the fluids and keep water with you at night. If you feel dizzy or anything else id go to the er for iv fluids
  12. You should be fine with any type of soups. Even potatoes and soft veggies just chew them up really well. Look up the menu so you know what you can get before you get there. If they ask why you arent eating that much say your stomach is upset[emoji6]
  13. They called me the day BEFORE my surgery saying i owed 1500$ talk about being super nervous and then they hit you with that.. i said id pay 200 and they can bill me, technically how do they know if the surgery is going to be performed?? Most places you are not obligated to pay in full you can say bill me.
  14. But how do you eat 6 times a day and still get get all of your fluids in since we have to wait 30mins before and after before drinking?? Dr told me to stick to 3 meals a day and constant drinking in between
  15. Maybe your stomach is still pretty swollen? Im 3 weeks post op and can eat 4 oz of food
  16. Yes i have the mirena and haven't gotten one in months, right after surgery i bled for 3 weeks. It sucked but surgeon said its normal and its a side affect of the anaesthesia. Also when you have rapid weight loss your hormones are changing throwing things off
  17. 1 month out and i can eat 3-4oz pretty well then i start to burp and thats how i know im full, just had a 3/4 fish fillet and 3 broccoli tots for dinner
  18. You cant have real solid food until week 16?? Thats seems pretty long. Im going into week 4 and can start a regular baritric diet. Id die!
  19. I do it all the time[emoji55][emoji17] but like you i just want the taste in my mouth and spit it out and it satisfies me and i rinse my mouth out. Im 3 wks post op, i think once we start regular food it will be easier mentally.
