  1. When I asked for time off work I just said I was having surgery for "female issues" and wasnt questioned any farther. I told one of my coworkers I was having a some fibroids removed. It is a laproscopic procedure and has the same recovery. (I actually looked it up, lol) When I went to work a week later I was on full liquids and no one questioned me having soup for lunch. I said the anesthesia had left me nauseous and that my tummy still wasnt 100%.
  2. Glad you had an uneventful surgery! I am sending you wishes for a speedy recovery!
  3. I fall from the Fig Tree. Pretty neat, fairly accurate!

I have had another horrible week with insomnia. I have not had more than 4-6 hours of sleep on any given night. I took some liquid Benadryl and was out by 11:00 pm.....but here I am up since 3:30. I am going to give the Melatonin a try. My DH always suggest taking a nap, but hell...I cant sleep at night and it is twice as impossible to sleep during the day.
  5. Ummmmm.......I only lost 6 lbs the entire first month!!!!!! Yet here I am over half waay to goal!! Hang in there, it WILL happen!
  6. Thankss!!!!!!!!! I have done nothing but protein today........protein drink for breakfast, ff cottage cheese, an some tuna. I weighed earlier,,, 185, must have been some water weight..........but doesnt hurt to shake it up!
  7. I would go..........but I have to work.
  8. I was just here for support??????? I asked for it earlier...............any tips or anything?
  9. Excuse me! I party like that EVERY WEDNESDAY!!!!!! One of our friends is a pilot and we arrange our get-togethers around when he is in non-flight. Tonite was at Booga-Dee-Boos Burger and Brews. I had chicken wings and 4 glasses of Chardonnay..
  10. I dont like her personality......she looks good to me, but she is still a condescending self-righteouss "i know the legal system"..person,lol
  11. You look beautiful! I love the shorter blonder hair! Is that naturally curly? Great smile and great olive complexion also, you look radiant!!!
  12. Telly, I was thinking about doing that or even going all protein for a few days. I continue to work out 3 times a week (strength training and 3-4 miles on recumbant) and for the past 2 weeks DH and I have been taking 45 minutes walks 3 mornings on top of that. I think I need to add some more intense cardio. It is just making myself do it that is hard, I have really came a long way with the exercise.....I was NOT an exerciser before this. I guess if what I am doing is not working, I need to make a change somewhere.
  13. I had no last supper. I had a subway wrap for lunch the day before and no dinner at all, nerves I think. I had nothing but coffee and water the day of and had my surgery at 2:00. So I was truly on a pretty empty system and had the gas for about 2 weeks. It isnt so much intestinal gas I have heard, but the CO2 they use to inflate your tummy...they release as much as possible before closing you up, but the remainder just has to work its way out. I also weighed on the 3rd day and was 6 lbs heavier than presurgery, due to all the I.V. fluids and swelling I assume.
  14. :bump: Was wondering if anyone has heard from Alysha yet?
  15. Too funny!!! I have one! You know what the egg said to the boiling Water? It may take me a while to get hard, I just got laid.
  16. No change here. It is TOM, but I am getting discouraged. For the first time I am starting to feel less than optimistic. I have been okay with medium/slow loss the first 6 months (6 lbs a month) but May was almost a complete stall with maybe 2 lbs and this month has only seen a 4 lb loss. I really need some encouragement here. Maybe due to TOM (which is horrid this month) but I am so down in the dumps right now.:think
  17. I had a consult this past weekend. I am still 40 lbs from goal, but wanted to get an idea of what I might need at goal and what it will cost! I have also never had children and was very fit until mid 20s....the Surgeon said that I would not require a full abdominoplasty, the ab wall muscles are in great shape. He said he would only have to do the "mini" tuck which is just the removal of the loose skin and fatty roll above the pubic area. It is a much more simple procedure and has an easier recovery. He said he preferred that I be "at or within 10 lbs of ideal weight". This would be purely cosmetic, I have some diagonal stretch marks under my belly button (sorta like this, lol */// about 2-3 inches long each) and know the skin will never return to flat OR tight. It really depends on your particular build, amount skin has been stretched out, how overweight you have been and for how long, genetics, etc.... whether you will think you require anything done.
  18. I had the compression bandages (ace), not the type you mean! The had them off anyway within 2 hours of surgery, once I was up walking around.
  19. Jacqui!!!!!!! That is wonderful! Congratulations!
  20. Congratulations!!! You will do great at keeping it off!
  21. I never quit. It is supposed to make recovery easier, but mine was easy anyway after the first 2-3 days. I wish I had've quit...I have tried over and over and never been able to put them down for good. My husband quit over a year ago and I am so proud for him, but I just cant seem to STAY quit. It is disgusting, it stinks, it's expesive, it's unhealthy, and still I havent managed get out from under it, lol.
  22. I was robbed of my last supper. I was banded in Monterrey with Dr. Sanchez. I had planned on some fajitas or enchiladas. Authentic mexican food....flour tortillas, beans, rice, salsa! We got there and went to the hospital for paperwork and found out he could fit me in a day early...I never got a last supper, lol.
  23. Alysha!! Sending you good thoughts for an easy recovery, Welcome to Bandland!!!
  24. Hey there! Just saw this post! Dr. Sanchez hooked me up with a doctor that does my fills. The fills are honestly painless and take all of 2 minutes or less. What part of Texas are you in? I have P.Md you but I know that there are several people on here banded by Dr. Sanchez...maybe someone else already knows of an aftercare doc in your area. p.s. I have never heard anything but good things about Dr. Sanchez here or on any other board. He has an impeccable reputation as far as I know. Do a search on him.....you will hear happy bandsters reporing!
  25. What a cutie patootie! A perfect little Gerber baby! Maybe someone can resize them for you?
