Wow, 40 lbs is an amazing amount in such a short time! Congratulations! It truly is validation when other people start noticing.....just gives you the warm fuzzy feeling, lol!

I take Liquid Tylenol when needed, which is rare...maybe once a month. The Centrum chewables and Viactive chews are both great as a vitamin supplement. A lot of people take the Flinstone chewables. The one time I had to take antibiotics since banding my local MD gave me a prescription for the liquid suspension formula. The only real "pill" I have to take is Metformin and I used to use a pill cutter to break it up, now I just chew it up and swallow with some water and suffer the bad taste for a few minutes....it is a matter of convenience, lol. I know that Ibuprofin (Advil) is one many docs say to avoid.

How long before you returned to work / or normal duties
lianna replied to oldspark's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had surgery on a Wednesday and was back at work the following Thursday. I definitely didnt feel 100% but I was totally able to do my job. My biggest issue was needing extra sleep, so I was having to go to bed MUCH earlier than normal to feel human the next day! -
I can do rice in limited quantities as long as it is mixed with foods of different texture. I dont eat it often, but it is a must for me to have a LITTLE rice with stir-fries and such. Now bread on the other hand,,,,I dont even attempt it anymore, or miss it.

18 months post op (to the day) and the dreaded slippage
lianna replied to Parvathi's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Parvathi, I hate to see you having such stressful situations at the same time. That truly and totally sucks. I will be sending you and your DH both tons of positive thoughts. Keep us updated. -
I assume you mean the first week or so post-op? Right after surgery I was fine with either warm or cold drinks. I suppose I stuck more with warm liquids since I was having mostly broths and decaf teas. BTW, good luck with your upcoming surgery!!!! You must be reaching that nervewrecking excited/apprehensive stage about now! Look forward to seeing you around the board, and am sending wishes for a speedy recovery!

Mine was at 5 weeks. I think the Inamed booklet states that the first fill should be done at 4-6 weeks, so it is primarily up to your doctor....most prefer to wait 6 weeks.

It was "Scrubica". I was feeling sorry for Erika the last few weeks, and actually starting to like her some the last few days......until she threw that hoh comp. You could hear her kissing Boogie before Janelle was completely out the door, lol. I lost ALL respect for her all over again. I really thought she would want to redeem herself by taking Janie, and winning 2nd with her dignity restored. Now she will probably win 2nd anyway, but without a shred of dignity left. Boogies DR session was just horrid....called her a "HO" and said she was of no more use to him....vile man. I just hope Janie gets America Choice and the $25,000!!! (which of course she will!)

Neuro-surgeon on Tuesday! Death to Pitunia!
lianna replied to vinesqueen's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I will also be sending positive vibes your way! -
If you watch the live feeds you will remember that weeks ago Janie, Will, and Boogie made the plan to get each other to final 3 and split the winnings. They even figured out that it would come to $190,000 apiece. (They called the plan "splitting the banana bread".) They have been working on this for weeks to get out everyone, including Erika, and leave them as final 3. I only hope Janelle doesnt trust them too much at this point, and does everything possible to ensure she makes it to final 2!

C 177 (-52 total) I hit my 50lbs gone goal!!! I know it isnt an update day, I will check in again on Wednesday for that.....I just wanted to share that I hit one of my biggest goals!!!! My summer break is over, and life is back on a schedule now! I want to be an active member for September!!! I need to recommit myself to getting in my Water and Protein this month. My goal is to lose 1lb a week. (Not completely clear on what all the crazy changes are and hope this is the working thread for GFG.) -
Big fan........addicted. Live feeds and all.

The Band is not working for my daughter???
lianna replied to ladysplenda's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The rate of loss doesnt matter. Are you comparing her loss to yours? Never do that, I am 10 months out and down 52 lbs........not very fast compared to many others, yet faster than some. I have averaged about 5 lbs a month, I look and feel great. What makes you think "it isn't working'? I think if she gets better restricition and keeps plugging along she will be fine. Even if she continues at a slow rate of loss (she is losing around 3-4 lbs per month?) she will be down a substantial amount within the first year.
