hello everyone .... And thanks for sticking around. From someone that's been on this site for a long time.... Since 2009.... from time to time a change is needed.... We should never let a few bad apple spoil the whole bunch.
Never is it ok to allow any person/persons to make anyone feel bullied, belittled, unimportant, dumb... Etc. We are all here for basically the same reason.... To be with people that have been in our shoes... We all started at the same place. We were all obese and looking to make a change in our lives for the better. We found this site looking for answers. Answers to questions no matter how large or small. I'm sure if you thought of the question... someone else is thinking it too but may be afraid to ask. NO ONE has all the answers.
So I say.... ask... I'm sure someone here may have an answer... if not, must of us will say... Check with your DR.
So stick around... there are still plenty of the Vet's here with years and years of experience, knowledge and advice to give. Lots of amazing people here with amazing success stories to aspire too...
I'm not going to say the thought of leaving didn't cross my mind... it did. I was going to only because i didn't like the drama..... Then that night I got a PM asking if a member could share my Before/Afters with a coworker... I said sure and the next message was how encouraged he said she was to start her very own journey. THAT.. makes it all worth it... so I stay to try and encourage those who are to come behind me, like I was encouraged all the years ago...

Surgery is set for 1/27/17 ...started my liquid diet today gonna be a tough 2 weeks

I'd eat something high fat/salt to make myself bloated. Very uncomfortable, but Water retention packs on the weight.

I'll tell you that bit about pizza was kind of sad. If you get some big Portobello mushroom caps, flip them over, and dress them up like your own personal pan pizza, they are low carb and delicious! I had surgery last Friday, so I'm clinging on to the day I can have real food!!

Well, it's been over a month since I have posted anything on here and I'm a couple days away from my two month post surgery date. My surgery date was august 1st and I got my first fill on Sept 12. I weight myself this morning and I'm down 40 pounds which make me feel great emotionally and physically. I can eat anything I want and not have any issues except for pizza and bread which is fine because I try to do a low carb low calorie diet. The great part about the band is that I feel like I eat like a normal person now and not over eat until I'm sweating...The things that I have noticed is that now I'm the last person eating at the table which is fine with me. day of surgery two month after surgery

It took over a month and 35 pounds for someone to say something to me. My neighbor complimented me and made a gesture as though it was my midsection which shrunk.
People may be hesitant to give out such compliments, but they will come with time!
I'm looking forward to 6-7 months down the road and seeing people I haven't seen since before surgery.

Welcome to the wonderful world of dumping! I get really bad flu like symptoms when I dump and it happens if I eat too much sugar, anything fried, or anything with too much fat. Sometimes it happens right away and some times its later. Hot, sweats, pain, light headed...all symptoms. I have a lot of great information on my blog about dumping (in nom nom nom). I know this will be TMI to some people but you can always tell a "dumping" poo from a regular poo because of the smell. ugh.

Yes, my surgeon said it was fine, i had gum during pre op. My liver was "near perfect" according to him. You just can't have it after midnight the day before surgery, or the day of surgery due to the saliva that builds up. They'll cancel your surgery for that. My boyfriend/ now fiancé was so against it but respected my decision. He was worried about the surgery itself and let's just say food is a big part of our life. With that being said. I'm 2 weeks post op. He is my biggest supporter and my accountability. food is still a big part of our life. We still go out, socialize. I just eat differently. I still cook and love to bake. He gets to enjoy my new recipes. It's not always about them scared of loosing you in a relationship stand point. He was just plain scared.
