    DR Nottle

Nottle has an excellent reputation he was the first surgeon to bring the lapband to Aus Im not sure of any other surgeons that do it so I can't offer any advice in that area.. And if your in Melbourne and not to far from Werribee or Williamstown I would highly reccomend him My friend the one who just had hers done stayed in for 2 days.. I have to go but all the very best to your DIL Night

    DR Nottle

I was done at the Williamstown hospital and I was only in for the night I was home early the next morning.. But I have since heard that if you don't have kids under the age of 5 they allow you to go home the same day.. Is you DIL planning on using Dr Nottle?

    DR Nottle

To be honest I have no idea why her wait was longer than mine? We seen him the same day different time I guess I just got in earlier?? She also had alot of health issues. sleep Aponea and He aslo made her go on the Optifast before surgery. I was shocked at the waiting period to as I thought I would be waiting years for it Good question I guess if it doesn't cause us alot of pain or interferes with our health we most likely would go back on the waiting list but I doubt we would have to wait the same amount of time as we did to get it.. I will have to ask about that myself..

    DR Nottle

Hi Aquasky13... Firstly congrats on taking the first step.. Perhaps I can help with a few questions.. I was banded almost 4 months ago under Dr Nottle I went in as a public patient.. I saw him in late december and was banded in july so 7 months before I had my operation.. Me and my best friend went and seen him at the same time and she was banded 4 days ago so I guess it all depends she waited 9 almost 10 months... Tarajane, If your Dil has a health care card there should be no costs involved... The only thing I had to pay for was the dietician ( $ 80.00 ) and I only had to see him once.. I do not pay for fills, I did not have to pay out anything for the operation at all.. Hope this helps.. If you have any further questions don't hesitate to ask.. Cheers

    Dry Heaving....Eww :(

Thanks to all that responded to this thread I really do appreciate it I'm thinking I must have picked up some form of bug I am 100% again... Was just a little worried as to why I wasn't able to throw up.. I see my surgeon on the 30th so I will ask him about it and see what he has to say.. Jachut funny you ask that, If I didn't have the band and I dry heaved to the amount I did, I would have definatley thrown up.. If think that if I was able to throw up this time round I would have felt alot better... Kat , Thanks heaps for the birthday wishes I had a cool one it was me and the toilet lol.. Thank you again to everyone that took the time to respond to this.. You guys are the best..

    Dry Heaving....Eww :(

:sick Yesterday and today I have not felt the best.. I don't know what's wrong but I cannot stop dry heaving....It is so bad my stomach jolts and then it starts it feels like I want to be sick I get ready to be sick to no avail.. Every so often Im rushing to the bathroom just incase I do throw up, It is "extremley forcefull " I Have NEVER dry heaved to this degree after my stomach relaxes and the force stage is over I let out the most loudest burps ever that feel like they are lasting forever.... The thing is NOTHING at all is coming out..I don't get it? I got my band done in July this year.. I have no problems at all with it, Have had two fills and everything has been really good. I'm just a little concerned about the whole force of the dry heaving... I'm paranoid about the slippage... I don't know how that works exactly.. Can the band slip through Dry Heaving? Or does Vomiting make it worse? Is nothing coming up because I have the band.. This is going to sound really stupid but are we able to vomit like normal people :) ? I was thinking about it and if we can only get a little amount down at a time how can we get large amounts to come out ?? Just has me curious Sorry if I am all over the place I'm sleeped deprived :cry

    So Unhappy...

Awww you poor thing.. Would it make a difference if you were to see a different Dr ? That sucks that your Dr wouldn't give you anything to help ease the pain it would definatley turn me off wanting to go back and see him.. Maybe you could get a little bit taken out and see yourself a new Dr ? Anyway best of luck with your decision and I hope things get better for you soon.. Do what makes you happy

    Lap Band Complications

Hi Marijana, I can understand your frustrations.. What a horrible thing to happen.. I to am under Dr Nottle and it took him about 6 tries before he was able to get mine in.. He is a fantastic Dr but I think he takes on more than he can handle.. Loooonnnggg waits .. I hope it doesn't turn out to be anything to bad ..I can't believe that you may have to bare the cost's.. If this has all happend because of a faulty band I don't see how they can expect you to pay for it all over again that really sucks ass.. You are not at fault you shouldn't have to pay for it... I really hope everything works out for you..

which side is our port on?

Mines more so to the left... I found it hard to sleep on my side after the op it took me about a week and a bit to get on my side..

Will no one be the wiser

I think you will have to choose very wisely on what it is you eat, Some people have no problems at all with food whislt others do.. I had my lapband done a little over 2 months ago and I can not eat ANY meat unless it is minced up (Pasta sauce) regardless of how much I chew it,It will not go down my doc told me I should be fine with sausages and hamburgers but as it happens I'm not.. I think by your 6 month stage you will know exactly what will work for you and what wont.. Good Luck matey
