Hello I'm also 41 lapband in 2009, RNY 9/18. I had my band removed in 2015 it damaged my esophagus. The RNY best the decision I have ever made 1 day in hospital and only 3 days of strong meds just at night. Dumbing the only time I felt it when I ate to fast. My suggestion is don't try need foods out make sure you eat it at home first this way if you dump your dumping will be in comfort of your home. Another suggestion is since you work a lot always have a Protein Shakes powder or liquid with you. I keep powder in my date at work, in my bag for work etc. I work 2 jobs so when I can't eat I'll make sure I do a shake. I found bypass recovery easier then the band was. I hope this helps I haven't experienced panic attack before so I really can't help with those questions. Good luck

Hello everyone, today is 7 weeks for me 9/18 surgery date. Recovery was very easy. I eat a lot of Turkey burgers, eggs, chicken and tuna mostly. I made spinach quiche on soft a lot it so good and easy to get down without the crust of course also added turkey sauage (blended it first). I find myself not having to problems with food sometimes chicken isn't the best choice. I'm struggling with getting my liquids in. I wasn't a big drinker of any beverage before surgery so I find myself falling into bad habits of only getting in about 32 oz a day. All my boots are so loose around my calves I use to couldn't find that many that would even fit around them. I'm losing about 2-3 lbs a week. I'm 4'10 start 218, surgery 207 and current 188.9.

Is been now 3 months post-op from sleeve to bypass and for the past week i been dealing with bad GERD.. feel like my throat is on fire and i have discomfort on the area just below my throat. Also when i swallow it feels like something is stuck. Dont know if this is just a temporary thing happening or something really of much concern. Contacted my surgeon but he is away for a week and will return the following week. I know bypass is supposed to make GERD much better to deal with but i am just concerned and frustrated with this uncomfortable feeling.. any help would be appreciated!!!
My doctor requires 6 months of daily prescription of Nexium after bypass surgery but supposedly people no longer suffer from gerd after that. I'm only 6 weeks out but I take it daily.

U sound like me![emoji24] I had bypass on 9/13 and I've only lost 13lbs. What's supposed to be inspiring seeing all these posts about people dropping vast amounts of weight in a short timeframe is actually discouraging to those of us who aren't in that lucky bunch. I've been told, tho, that those lucky 'losers' may have a lot more weight to lose than us, or are starting at a higher weight than us, or perhaps they are exaggerating a bit. Who knows? Mainly, everyone's been telling me that comparing to others is unproductive, everyone's journey is different. I know....I just can't help seeing all those types of threads on here and feel defeated!!
I sent my whole food log to my NUT just yesterday, in fact, to see what she could tell me since I'm so frustrated with my slow weight loss. Turns out, there ARE a few things I need to address. So I agree with previous poster that u should also do this. What we think we're doing 100% right and accordding to plan may not be as close as we thought. For example, I was eating between 700-900 cals a day and getting a MINIMUM of 70g of Protein a day, often 90-120g. Turns out, my docs plan wants me at NO MORE THAN 600 cals a day, 80g max protein a day. And here i thought i was following the plan by the book! [emoji52]
I sympathize with u a million times over and wish u luck as the days, weeks, months continue on. I hope ur weight starts to pour off and u get to post the exciting news!! Take care!

My list was the same as yours with the thighs being a "maybe."
I met with five plastic surgeons and sent pix to one in Mexico.
Several told me they could do two stages--upper and lower body. The Mexico surgeon would do it all at once. I fell in love with my surgeon. Part of it was that he said with as little body fat as I had (i.e. No Lipo needed to contour) he could do my top three at once because not as much blood loss and he could keep the surgery under his max hours. He also said that thighs were usually the surgery with the least satisfaction of the four I had in mind and his goal would be to do such a good job on the three he did that I would no longer care about the thighs.
That was over two years ago and he succeeded!
Who was your surgeon?

It sounds like you are doing the right things. Just try to make sure you're getting in your liquids. Don't weigh yourself until you are exactly 2 weeks to the day. The first week you were pump with so much gas and fluids. I only lost 7 lbs 2 weeks out.

Hello
Also try taking your measurements because what you don't see lost in pounds could be in inches. Good on your journey.

I seen my doctor yesterday and told him about the pain I feels above my belly button incision and it sharp pain that I have been having since Saturday once a day it last less then a minute. He told me that's around the area port was at and should go away. I'm not sure what that meant but I said ok.

After my RNY gastric bypass surgery, I do not recall my stomach swelling. I had some weight gain because they pumped your body full of fluids in the hospital. This weight gain took less than a week to go away. After surgery your body also produces a lot of gas. Walking helps with this condition. The blood thinner medicine that I took caused my body to bruise very easily. My body really looked like I had been in a boxing match because of the bruising. But after a month this went away.
Thank you for responding. My stomach wasn't this big prior to sugary but it's big. I'm doing to do more walking see if that helps

I has sugary bypass on 9/18 I was shocked they sent me home the next day. They said they try not to keep people long because you are more prone to getting staff infection staying in the hospital.
