  1. Again, protein first... and rather than juicing eat the fruit itself I’m told.
  2. Hmmm. My surgeon said because the gas is pumped into the cavity for them to work easier it’s not the same as can be helped by gas-x . However, at this point I’ll try anything so thanks!
  3. Tomorrow will be better, I promise. Just hang in there!!

    Post op.

Your diet seems to be drastically different from mine so best speak with your surgeon but to give you an idea; i’m not allowed juice at all... milk and soup (not all of course) are fine at that point and coffee if allowed 4-5 days out if absolutely needed. I’m only two days post op but I heard others say the restriction kicks in once you move to solids. So keep following your surgeon’s plan. Oh and mashed potatoes are a big no on my plan at that stage; check with your doctor’s office.

    Worst Experience so far?

Oh my goodness, I’m so sorry to hear that. I hope it gets resolved soon
  7. Aren’t you supposed to eat your protein first? And even so 12 oz seems like an awful lot to me just now. Maybe not do that again?
  8. Hey sleeve buddy... also sleeved 10/10 and I just got home yesterday. I ended up opting to stay a second night in the hospital so I totally feel your pain. I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy! I am somewhat better now but the only thing that helped me was the walking, even though for the longest time after every walk it would get worse as the gas shifted and broke up or whatever it was doing. I was bawling my eyes out so hang in there, it will get better and be persistent; ask for pain meds to help you through. If not now, when?

    Beginning My Journey...

Aaaahhh... it seems like only yesterday that I was starting mine.... and now look, surgery’s tomorrow and a time I thought would never pass has passed so quickly (duh, looking back of course) but it is a good time for you to set your mind in gear - whether you actually diet and lose weight or not, whether you make life style changes or not - getting your mind wrapped around what you are about to do is a big enough job. You’ll have bouts of doubt, excitement, impatience and all that good stuff. As to your question; I had an endoscopy and was put under. Not even a sore throat to report afterwards though they make sure you have someone to take you home afterwards so no Uber! Do it earlier (but make sure you stay within the required time frame as some doctors or insurance carriers require it to be such and such a time before but not longer). I say do it earlier rather than later because if you do end up having H-pylori it’s a whole regimen you have to go through and you don’t want THAT to be the reason your surgery gets delayed. Good luck and check in some time!

    Telling friends

I told one friend. Her reaction was more along the lines of “oh, ok” than anything else. I was ready to celebrate together or fight... but not for “I see”... kinda left me hanging

    Going back to work

I know it’s hard! Especially if you’re already having a blastedly sucky day One day at a time, right?
  14. The spray in my case was prescribed by my surgeon. They deliver, have auto-replenish and are covered by my insurance. There was a co-pay that I’ll be paying monthly.
  15. I was given the same. I was told it’s this or pills. I tried the celebrate sublingual ones and I’ll be going back and forth, both were OK in my book.
  16. If that’s the worst that can happen I’d be a-OK [emoji23][emoji12]
  17. Good luck and let me know how it turns out for you! I hope for excellent results for us both!!

  19. Wow 3.5 miles already? Color me impressed!
  20. Thanks!! I get to have breakfast today and then liquid diet for the rest of the day so it really shouldn’t be bad [emoji4] my only concern is that I don’t forget and pop something in my mouth!
  21. How will you get tested for it, do you know?
  22. Encouraging words for me for tomorrow... couldn’t sleep well this past week, up at all hours of the night, then crash come 7 pm the following evening and the cycle continues. I’m just hoping it’s my bodys way of prepping for tomorrow and that once back home (I’m outpatient) I’ll crash and actually sleep through the night!!
