  3. After being on liquids since July 7th I had my first puree meal. I've been waiting for this day. My stomach is talking to me, but all went down well and I didn't have any complications. I could only eat about 4 baby spoonfuls. This pyrex will last me forever!
  4. Today was my post op appt (surgery was 7/21). Dr gave me the clear to go to Zumba, so I took myself to class. Did low impact but survived the whole class. Pretty proud of myself, along with the 20lbs I lost since surgery! Sending well wishes to all July sleevers!

  13. So today I'm 1 week post-op. Last Friday at this time I was just getting out of surgery and miserable. Today, I just finish walking 1 mile around my neighborhood. I just want to thank this page for all the tips that help me prepare and be fully educated about this process. I have been reading everyone's post on do's & don't since Sept last year and attribute such a smooth surgery and recovery because of this group! Anyone getting ready for this journey don't be afraid to ask questions...There are no dumb questions!

Some meds are liquid for or need to be sprinkled in food or liquid. I bought the children's tylenol. I do chewable vitamins & liquid calcium citrate.

    Surgery stories???

1st day was painful I was nauseated and had bad gas pains. I went home next day which was a big relief since there was constant interruptions in the hospital and I couldn't really rest. I immediately stopped the oxycodone and just took chewable tylenol. After about 3 days I didn't need any more tylenol. I am 1 week post opp today. I walked 2 miles and getting in all my fluids. The first few days will be difficult to drink and your stomach will be tender. Move and walk as much as you can. My suggestions is it will be rocky the first few days, but will get better. I'm going back to work Monday after taking 1 week off.

    Help!

Just keep sipping...try protein water or pre-made protein shakes like Premier. I'm 1 week post op today and able to get about 64 oz in. Just take sips. I stopped pain medicine immediately after I was released and did chewable children's tylenol. It could be the meds. I haven't taken any more tylenol for a few days. I've also been do french onion or beef broth, move onto yogurt today. Stay strong!
  24. Hello, I'm 5 days post op (recovering well)...I'm trying to figure out different ways to get protein in. I have the Premier Protein Waters and Protein20...Anyone know of any concentrated powders to add to water to make fruity drinks. Similar to Fruit Drink Concentrate? Thanks!!
