Want to go to mexico w/me and have surgery

    Where in OC are u?
  5. I was banded on June 5th this year and i'm down 51 lbs. I've been filled twice, i'm at 5 CC in my 10 CC band. I felt huge restriction for the first 3 weeks after my 2nd fill, but now, no as much, so I may analyze it a couple more weeks, but I'm thinking i need another fill. I dont "pig out" persay, but I do eat more than I was able to a month ago. ANyway, congrats on your loss... keep it up!!
  6. Hi was I was reading one of your post. I, too was banded on June 5 of this year. I also got a fill on Sept 9 and i think I'm a little too tight too. I just refuse to go back to get an unfill. This is some serious restriction. The type that I have to remember to eat. I'm just a little worried that I haven't gotten all of the calories that I need. But I have a question. You commented that you lost 51lbs, is that all together or is that since your surgery. When I started I was 299.6. Pre-op I was 279. I am now 252. So I'm at 47lb total.

  7. I was banded June 5th, i'm down 51 lbs! I've restricted myself from eating any bread or bread related products (Tortillas, buns, pasta, etc). I eat pretty much anything now. I always have to coach myself when i eat. SMALL bites, chew SLOW and relax! I also chose not to eat any sugar. I drink only water and an occasional glass of white or red wine. I have steak, chicken, salads, you name it, i eat it. I'm at 5.5 CC's in a 10CC band and i might be a tiny bit too filled but i'm giving it one more week... we'll see. Good luck, let me know how it turns out!!
  8. It's subsided.... but man was it scary. 2 hours is what scared me the most! Thanks for the reply.
  9. So I had one bite of an egg white omelet with ham. BIG MISTAKE. I'm here at work and dying a slow death. It's been stuck for almost 2 hours now. I've been sliming the whole time. Throwing up periodically, obviously nothing coming out but saliva, in chunks! :crying: Has anyone else experienced this and for this long? Will it ever pass? I feel like there's a tennis ball in my chest that won't go up or down. Please go away!!
  10. damn, i haven't been on the board for awhile and missed your message!! How are you feeling? I went in last week for the first fill - so far, so good!!!

  11. Just curious, i know what the Dr.'s tell you about alcohol consumption and I know about not drinking beer because it's carbonated. What about Wine? My friends mom is a year out and can drink wine like crazy... in fact she drinks wine almost every night with dinner. Anyone else have any input on whether or not you consume wine post op? I'm not talking weeks out or anything, but after a couple months or even a bit longer, have you given wine a shot?
  12. I had my first fill at 5 weeks. I have a 10 cc band and was filled 1.5 cc at time of surgery. At time of fill, my Dr. put another 1.5 cc in so my band is now filled at 3 cc total. I felt like you did after the fill. It was hard to even get soup down. My fill was on a Thursday afternoon and I couldn't eat anything solid until Saturday night, when I had chicken, but chewed really well. Now it's Tuesday 5 days later and i'm doing good. I eat normal again, but have to chew SUPER good or else it gets stuck. If I take too big a gulp of water, same thing. I am getting a LUMP FEELING in my throat a lot and I hate it, it's so scary, but in a few hours it'll go away. I'm telling you, it's so scary to have that feeling. Anyway, hope that helped... it does get better
  13. Ok, so I'm 5 weeks post op, i had my first fill yesterday. All went well. I'm down 30lbs in 5 weeks. YAAY! I have this horrible feeling though, as if there is a golfball sitting in my throat. It's not food stuck, as i'm on a liquid diet for 2 days (Post fill) and all i've had is Soup, Water, Protein shake. I've had this feeling for 2 days now and it's more annoying than anything, but it also makes me worry quite a bit. I've read before where this has happend to other people, but they thought food might be stuck?? I dont think that's what i'm experiencing at all, again, since i haven't eaten anything solid in 2 days. Has anyone had this feeling before? If so, how long did it last? Please help!

    Can this really be done?

All I know is I was the most skeptical out there. I finally did it on June 5th and have lost 30lbs in 5 weeks. Oh my god how my life has changed. I am 5'10, 270lbs at time of surgery. It's the most amazing thing I could've ever done for myself. Go for it!
  15. I was able to finally sleep on my stomach about 7-8 days. It was HEAVENLY!
