Until I see my doctor next week, I'll just end up taking .25mg instead. That much is obvious really. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced their anti-anxiety med being more potent. Sent from my SM-J327V using BariatricPal mobile app

Thank you!! Here's a side by side of me before surgery and today. You know, with my face instead of my waist! -

What is your favorite part of weight loss?
KDBaker replied to 1234567890's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I went to a job interview yesterday and the place had tons of stairs. I climbed them all without being in pain or out of breath. Sent from my SM-J327V using BariatricPal mobile app -
2 weeks post-op - surgeon said I’m cleared to eat all soft foods so long as I chew well!?!
KDBaker replied to Once Upon a Sleeve's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I could have well chewed solids 13 days from surgery. I took it very easy. Soft scrambled eggs, refried beans, cottage cheese. Just chew very well and eat slowly. You'll know if something isn't right for you relatively quickly. Sent from my SM-J327V using BariatricPal mobile app -
multivitamin that won't make me gag?
KDBaker replied to Lainey H's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same problem, so I switched from Bariatric Advantage to a Centrum chewable. No more nausea when I take it. -
Help, I’m losing my hair!
KDBaker replied to Mytimenow17's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm almost 2 months out and I noticed some hair falling out too. Best you can do is keep up with your protein goal, I think. I also cut my hair short and started using Nioxin. With the short haircut at least I notice not as much comes out when I run my fingers through. -
Ok post-op ladies. I have a small situation and I'm wondering if it's happened to anyone else. Up until surgery, my periods were regular. Once a month, lasting for less than 5 days. I'm 6 weeks post-op now and have my period for the second time this month. My last one ended 2 weeks ago. Is this a normal thing? If so, please tell me it won't be a regular/long-term thing? My hormones are pretty monstrous.

So, this whole relearning to eat thing has gone pretty well so far. The only problem I'm having is figuring out how far apart my meals should be. When I'm at home or work it's not really a problem. But when I'm out I don't really figure it out until my blood sugar crashes. I was thinking a good solution to this would be to keep a protein bar in my purse, at least until I have it figured out. The problem is with my program I'm not allowed any grains until I'm 3 months post-op. I plan on asking about this at my group nutrition class tomorrow but also am curious about other programs. What is your post-op diet like in the first 3 months? Do you know of any grain-free protein bars or something else I could keep with me?

I was also sleeved on October 16. I'm down 22 pounds since surgery, 36 since July. Sent from my SM-J327V using BariatricPal mobile app

I'm only a month out but I've started shedding too. My dietician told me it's nothing to do with vitamins or protein. It's a normal reaction to major surgery. So it seems like there's not much to be done. I went and got my hair cut short today. I have super fine hair so that makes it look thicker. Meanwhile, when my hair starts to grow back it won't have a long way to go to catch up.

I also use Baritastic and like it. I know a lot of other people who use MyFitnessPal and say it's good.

It's not silly, at least not in my opinion. I think if it were fresh strawberries it might be difficult to digest. But since strawberry yogurt doesn't usually have fresh strawberries it seems fine. At least it didn't cause me any issues.

I just use regular leggings.
-
I've had both yogurt and cottage cheese with strawberries and had no problems. I think you'll be fine.

Before I went into the OR for my surgery, the doctor explained to me that some throat discomfort was normal because of the breathing tube they put in during the surgery. It will go away soon!

I'm a little more than 3 weeks out now and back to work. I had a great routine while I was at home. I had a regular eating schedule. I was walking 30 minutes a day. Now that I'm back at work I'm struggling to get into a good pattern and I have no energy to get out and walk. Trying to be patient with myself but it's frustrating! I also seem to have hit that 3rd week stall. Ok. Done whining now. Thanks for letting me get that out! Sent from my SM-J327V using BariatricPal mobile app

Anyone else having trouble with their multivitamin? It was fine for the first week or two, but for the past few days, I've been feeling sick after I take it. It's just a Celebrate chewable multivitamin with iron. Any advice?

Feeling sick after multivitamin
KDBaker replied to KDBaker's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got some different vitamins. I don't want feeling sick afterward to deter me from taking them. Let's see how Centrum treats me. -

Did your Dr tell you No STRAWS? No SODA?
KDBaker replied to Fibro Queen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been told no to the carbonation but yes to the straw. My doctor and dietician both told me that straws are safe a few weeks out from surgery. -
I just left my first post-op nutrition class. I expected to learn that I'd be on pureed or blended foods now but that's not the case. I can go straight to solid foods. I have to cut it up very small and chew thoroughly but I can do it. Has anyone else had their diet progress like this? Sent from my SM-J327V using BariatricPal mobile app
