Still don't know if I'm full or what
mstrina27 replied to shy_one's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Understanding exactly what u are talking about... But it sounds like u might not have a restriction. Prehaps u need to talk to your Dr. about getting more of a restriction... Also and yes I am still in the process of changing the way i think and react towards food. Knowing that I am thinking that ok i have THE BAND and now everything is going to be great... it is so diffrent from the gastric bypass and until u reach that sweet spot u are going to struggle... so just like myself I do have to excercise self control when i eat. Not saying that u do this, but for myself I am not going to eat until i get FULL.. becasue once i am full that is too much and i have learned that by reading and research... and the funny part is, is i was never taught that when i was growing up. I was always told to eat until u are full.. and by that time u are miserable... so along with having a tool that will help us control our food intake we have to say ok well this is enough... and back up... Also if we all drink the proper amount of Fluid on a daily basis u will get and stay fuller longer... just a thought....everyone is diffrent.. but hopefully something will work for u... -
Wow.. I must say that dammmmmm u are doing freekin fantastic!!!!!... I had to stop typing and get up and dance for u... seriously.... baby... make sure u are taking fiber to keep things moving... and not sure if u are lifting weights or what kind of excercising u are doing but kick it up about 30-minutes every other day and that will help to burn more off.. also cut out more of the carbs u are eating for about a week and gradually add them back so your body wont get use to being without them... u know.. the days u work out 30-minutes more eat more carbs.. and the days u don't eat less... keep it going like that and u shouldn't have a prob... keep me posted... and again... u are doing the damn thing.....
-
lol.... Add V-8 Juice to your list... also instant lipton soup mix... cream of soup is good also.....
-
Wow.... u know it is bad when they act as if they can't give the necessary cases to someone that is actually working..... I understand your frustration......I'm getting pissed off for you... Hopefully when that person returns they will be well rested and will put approved on it.... to get thru all of the paper work on the desk... Some people can be such pains in the azz..
-
You know with your response u not only nailed it but u drove that sucker thru the wood...lol.. U are so right on the money!!! The Dr. that told u that prob. never had a freekin weight issue in his life and hey if it works for some good.. but this is something that never worked for me and i wont do it.. call me going against Dr's order or whatever.. but I have talked to personal trainers and everything and they all suggest the same thing that Crystal said... so with information that u are given u have to tweek it for u... Thats just like when we read our horoscopes how in the hell could it go for all Capricorns??? Somethings may or may not apply some days and others it may be exact.... One thing i did also was to get a RMR done at the gym and it showed that my body burned 2600 calories by doing nothing.. so if i ate about 1100 calories and worked out and burned about 1000 calories i could loose about 3-4lbs in a week... so even if u eat more calories and u workout u will still loose bottom line...

I've been cheating.
mstrina27 replied to LeslieR041906's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will say that it is hard to gather the fact that you have to go an entire 6WEEKS.... U have to take one day at a time... during this time I drank v-8 juice, cream of chicken, brocolli, rice, chicken noodle a friend of mine's mother made me some home made chicken and rice soup... there were little pieces of chicken in it from the chicken breast but hell i chewed that up into nothing...lol.. but u have to stay on top of eating and eat when your hungry so u wont get so hungry u are angry and want to eat everything.... I do understand it is always easy to tell someone hey just don't do it when u've already passed the 6-week point and u can eat as u wish just in smaller portions... but think about it like this. When u are born u have to start out with the baby foods not regular ones.. and u slowly migrate towards the regular stuff as u get older.. because your system has to get use to eating that kind of stuff.. so don't discouraged just take one day at a time and know that everything yr doing now will pay off sooner than u think.... -
I've been cheating.
mstrina27 replied to LeslieR041906's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
U know i was going to tell u off.... at first.. with the I've been cheating topic... but after reading i feel u. I really do. If u focus on being healthy for your daughter and not wanting to leave her behind u will be able to do anything u want to in regards to living a healither lifestyle. I am doing this for my son also. How selfish would it be for me to die of some fat persons disease when i could have just backed my big ass away from the plate. It is easier said than done, but we have to put what is more important to us before anything... WHO DO U LOVE MORE.... FOOD OR YOUR DAUGHTER??? Well I guess u have made the decision.... Use food as your fuel just like gas is for your car and that's it... Find other things to do with your time and you wont think about food so much..... plz believe me I have been where u are so I am not just rambling and just saying crap to make u feel good or bad... but it starts within your head...... U have to change the way u feel and think about food... start to write down what triggers you to eat and put something else in its place.... -
Prayers needed for a fellow bandster
mstrina27 replied to hootiebelle's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well I am going to post my prayer here for her. In the name of Jesus I come to you on the behalf of Joan in Las Vegas. You know her need more than anyone else. I know everything happens for a reason and you don't make mistakes bottom line. I also know that you died for us and by your stripes we are healed. I am being unselfish and not asking that you do this for me, but that you do this for Joan. She was trying to improve her quality of life by getting the lap band not to make it worse in any way. I know that you hear and answer prayer because that is just the kind of God you are. I am sending this prayer request to you knowing that you have heard it and you will honor it in your son Jesus name Amen. -
I am new to this site...
mstrina27 replied to hopea's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
U know I have been banded since may 15th, and before i was banded i thought it was going to be hard as hell but it actually aint.... Once u get use to eating less and u get use to seeing the results and like what your hard work gets u... You wont have a prob. either... U can pretty much eat what u want, but u have to make the choices to stop when u are no longer hungry not when u are full and to get up and workout.... the band aint gonna push u off of the couch or the chair.... -
Pre-op beer drinking
mstrina27 replied to hikerchik's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You know drinking beer to u is prob. like soda pop was for me... at first i couldn't ever imagine not drinking pop, but i haven't had it since 2-weeks before banding which was the beg. of may and i haven't had a sip, or even a thought of drinking it and i'm cool.... U just have to have a made up mind to want to change bad behavior whatever that may be.... But one thing i do know is, is that beer and other liquor's add weight to u... i has a lot of carbs in it, and it will make it harder to loose weight... that is one bad factor but ultimately u have to make the choice for u... -
Still not losing weight !!!
mstrina27 replied to salam's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What are u eating? What kind of excersing routine do u have? how much Water are u drinking? How many calories are u eating per day? If you have and or keeping track of your excercise and food intake and u are not eating thing u know u shouldn't be eating u should be loosing weight.. by just having the band isnt going to just make the weight fly off... -

Banded yesterday and I have lots of questions
mstrina27 replied to thughes113's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
well u might want to get some freeze pops to suck on those that will help with the dry mouth.. I ate cream of chicken, cream of brocoli, cream of chicken and noodle soups and stuff like that... but i had to stop taking my pain meds because it was making me sicker than i should have been... make sure u move around and sit up as much as poss. that will help to make u feel better also..about the tickers u can click on any ticker and it will pull up another window on your computer and u can create your own.. and then when it gives u the stuff to copy and paste.. click on edit my profile and click where it says edit signatures and paste and save... -
Serious Questions About Lap-Band
mstrina27 replied to gmwatson16's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well my dear I haven't had any issues with reflux, choking of any sort... Some that have acid reflux poss. had it prior to being banded... that has to do with your food not being broken down and digested properly within your own system. I don't eat oily foods, i don't eat late, and i chew my food really good. Also i know to stop when im not hungry... not when im full... If u stop eating when u are full that is too late.... U have to know how to listen to your own body and becuase most of us have tuned out to listening to our bodies we miss a lot of signals and warning signs... but take one day at a time and u will be ok.. -
please tell me I'm okay!
mstrina27 replied to lynnie77's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well what is done is done... but next time ask yourself this. If u are a recovering drug addict and your friends that u use to hang out with don't know that u have kicked yr habit and they come around asking u if u want to get high with them say naaa im good... don't do it... or either choose a new set of friends. U are starting distructive behavior already, u are setting yourself up for failure. U have to have some sort of will power. The band aint gonna make u stop eating the foods that u actually like, u just wont be able to eat that much of it... Now in a few months a slice or 1/2 slice will be fine but not now you are still healing... -
Anyone else getting cold feet?
mstrina27 replied to kimaly's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
U know one thing is to look but not to harp on the issues that others had. They are not u.. Not to sound harsh or anything but i did the same thing I was like omg look at all the issues with people throwing up and food getting stuck and shi*. I don't think this is for me... but i prayed about it and there were things that i have learned along the way. Take your time and chew your food good now, dont drink any liquid 30-60 minutes before of after your meals now.. start acting like u have the band now. I haven't had choking or throwing up at all and i thank God for that... Not saying that everyone is not ready for the change, but I was ready and still am. Just as u will always hear the band is a tool and if u dont work it nothing will happen. If u are trying to build a house and u have nails that have to get in the wood and u lay the hammer down by the nails and the wood thats all it will do is to lay there...U have to work the hammer with the nails in order to start building the house.... U can do it put the negitive thoughts out and know that u have come this far and u ain't gonna turn back now.... -
Heart Stopped Once Stomach Inflated w/ Gas
mstrina27 replied to MsChris72's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
wow... I am so glad that u are ok... and the best part about it is that your Dr did not risk your life.... did u have a pre-op diet? and did they say why the gasses might do that to u? -
of course everyone's pain level is diffrent and everyone's recovery will be diffrent. Just like when I was banded.. with some people it was nothing for them to recover they didn't have any issues with their pain meds..but me... I didn't take to well to the pain meds... they made me sick.... Not saying that everyone that has a tummy tuck will need someone to wipe their butt.. but i have learned by being a single parent of 1 and living alone... it is always safer and better to be prepared for the worst... and when things turn out better that is always a +++ My friend had muscle repair and i can't recall how much fat and skin they removed.. but she had lipo as well in her upper back...

How bad is the pain from the surgery?
mstrina27 replied to Startingover!'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
U know the pain level is diffrent for everyone.... If you can tolerate the pain medication they give u, u should be better than I was. That damn Loratab made me sicker than i could have ever imagined.... But when u have the procedure done things get better as every day goes by.... -
Well my band came with a pre-fill of 3'cc's and my first fill i got 2cc's added now i have a pretty good restriction but with about 2more cc's im sure i will be perfect.... I think it is a waste of time for a Dr. to only put 0.25 cc's or 1'cc in a band when u don't have a restriction or a fill at all... wow..

4cc BANDERS, WHERE'S YOUR SWEET SPOT???
mstrina27 replied to TxChelsey's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
This is a really good thread... i was going post the same thing about people with a 10cc band... Now we all know everyone's sweet spot is diffrent but to get an idea of what might be good for u is good to know... -
I love u guys...i had to stop reading because it was hurting to hard to laugh....
-
This is exactly what I am talking about..... i couldn't have said it better....... This is key... If u follow this u can't loose.....
-
wow... U know i was kind of afraid of that... Thats why I am going to start toning excercises now not saying that will be the key to the problems... But another thing that should be covered under your insurance is when u loose a certain amount of weight as long as your Dr. says it is medically necessary your insurance will cover a tummy tuck and a thigh lift...or body lift.. that is what i am going to do if the skin looks too horid.... i am going to try to avoid the plastic sug. because i know the recovery will be really hard, but thats where my short term disability comes in at.. and i have a best friend that is willing to be with me next summer to help me because she went thru a tummy tuck and really needed someone to wipe her butt...lol... but the issue can be fixed...
-
That is amazing.... Wow.... :blushing:
