  1. Angelface: Took about a day and a half. I take full responsibility because I don't think I chew nearly enough, still 'wolf' everything down. I'll take it as a learning experience because now I'm very careful about how much and what I eat. Kinda gun-shy now. Thanks.
  2. Just wondering if it hurts to get the band filled. Getting my first filler 4/15 and looking forward to/dreading it. I hope he numbs up the site first, but does it hurt inside - can you feel it when your stomach gets cinched up? Banded 3/3/08 and still getting used to it. Thanks
  3. Welcome from the other side - Clarkston, Wa. I was banded 3/3/08 and it's going pretty good. Good luck with everything and just holler if you need to talk.
  4. Just curious if anyone else was banded there. What did you think of Doctors and facility. I was banded 3/3/08 by Dr. Pennings.
  5. I 'experimented' last night and am also paying the price today. My weapon was scrambled eggs which I normally despise. I was soooooo hungry I scrambled 5 eggs & added a little grated cheese. It went down really good, but when I stood up it felt like someone punched me in the gut. Still hurts today. Just really wanted to find out where the limit was - how much can you eat before it triggers that full feeling. Not doing that again! Good luck!!!
  6. Congrats! I was banded 3/3 and still adjusting. But I agree with everyone else, drink plenty of fluids and walk, walk, walk! It's the best excercise. Hang in there!
  7. I did end up calling the doctor who did the surgery & told him about the fever and stomach pain. Short version; there was an infection at the band site in one of the sutures. Also, the reason it hurt to take a deep breath was due to the inflammation. Had to stay overnight in the hospital with IV's. But I do feel much better now, just dreading the bill for the whole thing. I'm self-pay, had to take out a home equity loan for this and can't really afford any unexpected bumps in the road. So, thank you to all who responded to my initial post. It's so nice to hear from real people who've gone through this. Btw, after 3 months on the optifast diet & surgery I'm down 45 lbs. It was originally 48 lbs, but after all the IV fluids I've gained 3 lbs back. That should disappear soon as it was all water weight. Can't wait to pee! :biggrin2:
  8. New to this forum, so hi to everyone and thank you in advance for any help you can give me. Had surgery 3/3/08 and everything went really well. But in the past few days I've been having the worst stomach pains, feels like gas and bloating. Most of the time it even hurts to breath. Also, I've been running a fever, not all the time but sure can feel it when it breaks and I'm sweating all over the place. Lower abdomen hurts to touch it, and have been taking colace the past day & half. I just hope all this passes because I don't want to freak out and call the doctor since he's over a hundred miles away! Please help!!!
