  1. Sleeved 2-15-17 Start weight 270 Preop 258 Current weight 245 My journey starts off very well extremely nervous going into surgery scared of the pain that was about to come my way waking up after surgery! To my surprise I had very little to no pain at all up on my feet walking within the first few hours, walked laps in the hallway every hour like clockwork for the first 48 hours in hospital! Met all my water and protein goals with no problems!! After discharged I had a little discomfort on right side of my stomach for a few days, and for some strange reason I could not sleep!! AT ALL!! I had this strange energy running through my body, every time I would sit or lay down I would get pain in my stomach and hurt to move around so I started doing small projects and clean around house!! This really helped me take my mind off of everything!!! I started to get about 4-5 hours of sleep in 30-40 mins at a time! But still had tons of energy, hadn't watched tv or relaxed in days!! 9 days post I went to see doc, told him my story, at this point I had only lost 2lbs! He told me I needed to start exercising and cleaning house really didn't count.... ☹️️ tummy looked good and I was ok up on my feet almost 20 hours a day! He said my body will let me know what and when it needs things!!! Later that day my friend came to paint one of my walls, I was the dictator, she was unable to remove some tape from wall so of course I insisted to climbing the ladder! She spotted me and ladder, got the tape and headed back down, about 4 steps to bottom of ladder I reached my foot over to staircase and totally missed the step falling about 4feet onto steps landing on right side!! Instantly had the wind knocked outta me unable to breathe, and being 250ish lbs my friend called 911!!! Bruised up head, 3 broken ribs, torn cartilage from sternum, twisted knee, broken right foot!! Also landed on tummy but no damage to sleeve!!! 4 days in hospital and was released home!!! Kept my butt in bed!! It's been about 4 weeks now since fall and noticed my left foot swollen and very pain full!! Tested showed torn and sprained ligament!! And either happen in the fall or from putting too much weight on my left foot!! So now I get two walking cast on both feet and no work for another few weeks that's if I have a job to go back to!! I have been unable to focus on weight loss, exercising or diet!!! Don't eat or sleep much, in pain 24/7 and pray everyday the hurt will stop!!! I wish everyday that I never went on that dam ladder and How stupid I was!! WHAT WAS I THINKING!!! Why did this happen to me!! Guilt and regret weighs heavy in my soul!! I hope better days are coming my way soon!!!!

    Swollen foot & ankle

Sorry not the best picture but the left side is huge doesn't look like it in the picture but it is
  4. 4.5 post op as I was getting ready for bed I noticed my left ankle felt a little tender, "no unusual routine or additional walking" my calf ankle and foot are swollen about three times the normal size very unusual! Anyone have any suggestions of what this could be or if I should be worried?
  5. Getting surgery done tomorrow 2/15!! I'm prepared for everything except for postop pain!! I am type of person that don't handle pain very well and this makes me so nervous!!! I'm freaking out!!! Help??? Any suggestions
  6. As much as the research that I have pulled together I speculate the liquid diet is based on surgeon and part weight some surgeons want you to go on an all liquid diet to mentally prepare yourself for what's coming ahead, as well as shrinking the liver to make it easier to operate and easier for healing time! Also if you have a lot of weight to lose your doctor may put you on a strict liquid diet for a few weeks longer to lose weight to be able to operate, I have a BMI of 40 and my doctor put me on a two-week liquid only diet surgery date January 25, for the first seven days I had extreme headaches all day and all night long due to sugar withdrawal I did call my dietitian and she told me I can add a small piece of fruit two times a day if needed! Hope this helps and good luck HW 270 CW 258 Surgery date 1/25/17 Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. Well thank you for clarifying that no harsh feelings! I guess maybe I read it wrong as well but I do appreciate the words of wisdom HW 270 CW 258 Surgery date 1/25/17 Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. Ok!! Deeveg!! Wasn't referring to drinking smoking and eating every minute of every day it was hypothetical and referring to these are the things I enjoy doing in my free time!! Obviously they were bad things that put me in the situation that caused me to be on this forum! We're all in this together and sarcasm can be left out!! And I understand that quitting smoking quitting drinking and quitting eating unhealthy is going to be a lifelong change not just for two weeks! I was referring to the two-week pre-op diet that I'm only allowed to have liquid on is a struggle but the hardest part of that two-week struggle was more of cigarettes then of food! So yeah I will pat myself on the back because I have accomplished more than I have in the last 30 days than I have in the last 10 years, so I thought a little offended by your first portion of your comments! Although I do appreciate the middle and last half of your suggestions and mind set to move forward on quitting smoking! I am looking for suggestions of what to do with myself now that I have taken away the three things I enjoy doing that were killing my body! 9. This was my day to day life for years! I loved to meet the girls out for some margaritas and wine, few beers by the pool and fire pit! Barbecue grilling and restaurant dining!! For the past six months I've been struggling with the smoking part and well the drinking and eating! I am smoke and alcohol free for now 30 days alcohol hasn't been a problem but the smoking is an extreme addiction! I think I want a cigarette more than I want food being in my two week liquid only diet! The main question for everybody is what do with myself now that drinking smoking and food are no longer a part of my life! During work is fine but my weekends are killers, i've been hiding in my bedroom all weekend too afraid to leave the house to fall back into bad habits! I am single and 40 and I live in Wisconsin with temperatures at freezing! I need to find a new hobby or something to do with myself anybody have any suggestions!!! Pre-op diet starts tomorrow

I am Day five in my preop liquid only surgery January 24, The worst part about it for me is the headache, i've had a screaming headache since I started, i'm thinking it's due to withdraw from sugar! I am doing the Premier Protein premade drinks it comes in five flavors, I do five a day which brings me to 800 cal and 150 protein little high in the protein but dietitian said it's OK, at the start of the morning I put the five drinks in my lunch bag and when it's time to have a shake I dig my hand into the bag without looking and I get a surprise flavor of drink!! Got to make some fun out of it!! It keeps me full throughout the day but I still crave food and want to eat! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. Yeah where is the hipaa and the privacy laws these days!! Everybody at my work knows and is gossiping behind my back about it but no one dares to confront me about it!! And every time I walk into the room it's like the white elephant!! And I can tell my boss is pissed off that I'm taking 3 to 4 weeks of FMLA, and being in the health field were always shorthanded!! So now all my coworkers have to pick up all that extra slack at work!! I'm at the point to just get the surgery and start looking for another job!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  13. To be honest I don't want my coworkers to know what's going on, i'm 40 years old and work with the younger crew, and some I don't really get along with, and our department are filled with all women that love to chat and gossip, but since I'm having the surgery at the hospital I work at my medical records will be going through our department, I work in the laboratory so as soon as they see my orders they're going to know what's going on!!! Everybody's already talking behind my back!!! Rrrr I hate this!!! But I'm gonna tough in this out I'm doing this for me and nobody else!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
