How much you can eat ?

My surgery was March 6. I can still only eat small amounts; one egg and maybe 1/2 piece of toast. If I eat soup, I can eat a little more. Chicken wings, 2. Some days I feel hungry all day, and others not hungry at all. Has anyone started eating salad and/or raw veggies at 3 months? I miss salads so much and I'm scared to try!
  2. Today is 6 weeks since surgery. I'm doing pretty well, but still having a hard time getting enough protein and calories. I'm down about 26 lbs since surgery, but the past week I have been losing/gaining the same 2 lbs. The only glitch I've had is dehydrated and last week had to go to hospital for infusion. My electrolytes/vitamins, etc, were low, and was very weak. Since the infusions, feeling better. The thing that still bothers me is I'm still tired all the time, and most days actually need a nap for an hour or two. Anyone else having this problem?
  3. You may also want to check your state's specific leave laws. Some states have additional family medical leave laws in addition to FMLA.
  4. Thanks for all the good posts. I have always been a little lactose intolerant. I've been using almond milk for years. I use the unsweetened almond milk with the shakes, and still have the gas and bloating. I am, however, able to tolerate most fat free yogurts without the same problem. I'll pick up some lactaid tomorrow and see if that helps.
  5. I am 1 & 1/2 weeks post-sleeve. I also have problems with gas and bloating after drinking the protein shake. I have several different brands/flavors, but even one that is soy, lactose, gluton-free causes gas and bloating. I see where a few people have posted using GasX. How far out did you start using it?
  6. Now I've been a week from surgery. Pain is much better now. Gas and bloating still a problem. It seems the protein shakes cause the most bloating. I'm having a hard time getting them down, but yogurt seems to be okay. Anyone else have problems with the protein shakes? I've tried several brands and flavors, they all cause it.
  7. I am 4 days post-op. Nausea was really bad in hospital, but much better now. Yesterday was first day of full fluids. I thought I did well, did not over do it, and was really careful with amounts and timing. I felt okay most of the day, but ended up awake almost all night feeling bloated and nauseous. Spent all night walking around the house, but still feel bloated and nauseated, even after nausea medicine. Anyone else?
  8. Hi all, I am new to this forum and looking for support and friend. I'm on the Eastern Shore of MD, first visit was Aug 2016, last doctor visit pre-op is scheduled for 1/30. I'm excited, happy and terrified all at the same time! Best advice tips?
