It's been so good so far!! I think the hardest part was the two week liquid diet for sure, but now I'm almost two months out and honestly the cravings are basically gone, and i practically live in the gym and love it. Keep it up!!

  4. So I'm 4 weeks out as of tomorrow and 24 pounds down! this morning I woke up and went to the gym as per usual and on my way home I realized how much I was smiling and how good I felt. I have been struggling a lot with depression and anxiety for the past 2 and a half years and it felt so incredible realizing that I feels like I'm finally reaching the end of that dark tunnel! I was told to stop my medication for the first two months post op which was terrifying to me a few weeks back, but now realizing how insanely well I've been doing emotionally the past couple of weeks feels like one of my biggest accomplishments so far without a doubt! Gym

I'm 4 weeks out as of tomorrow and started back at the gym first with walking and then when I hit around 2 and a half weeks I added some running in, but only to the point of comfort. Any time there was any discomfort at all in my midsection I knew that meant stop. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  8. I was wondering what people's thoughts are on cheat days regarding the post op diet. I'm currently 3 weeks out and have been following the surgeons instructions almost to the letter. But I am at a bit of a stall with weight loss, and was thinking of adding in 1 cheat day a week to get my system going again. A couple things before comments start flying about this: when I say one cheat day, I mean strictly on saturdays and then back to nothing. It Protein the other 6 days a week. Also, I don't mean cheating with sugary and fatty junk like ice cream and potato chips, but rather with stuff like a chicken quesadilla with low fat cheese, or maybe a cream based Soup from Panera, rather than broth. Just adding a bit of carb in one day a week but honestly nothing crazy. Also considering skipping the gym on that one day because I've been going every day of the week thus far. Let me know what you guys think! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Frustrated

the first week you are still loaded up with iv Fluid so it would be shocking if you hadn't actually gained weight from that! Give it another couple of days and you'll see suddenly it drops quite a bit, just be patient and keep following the surgeons instructions Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. So as of today I am 20 days post op, and overall things have been going well! I'm 30 lbs down, and so happy about that! However, the past 4 days I've been at a complete and total stand still with weight loss. I'm trying to increase my Protein and my exercise routine, but it doesn't seem to be making a difference. I know a lot of people said that a stall is normal at about 3 weeks and to just wait for it to pass and not lose motivation, but I was wondering if there are any tips as to try and speed it up a little or if there is REALLY nothing to do but to wait. Also, I've been having a fairly difficult time with my mouth always being dry lately. I've been drinking tons of Water between eating (literally have already drank about 40oz just today) and was wondering if anyone has tips or has experienced this. I'm not diabetic, so I know that's not the cause, I'm just not sure what is. Thanks you guys!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  14. So today I'm currently 14 days post op and down 17 pounds which I'm very excited about! However, after being on the long liquid diet, I was so ready and excited to finally be able to have some scrambled eggs, and after maybe 3 forkfuls, it was just total nausea and reflux for the next hour. I have been taking my acid reducer so that's not the issue I am just starting to worry about how long it will be like this for because I'm feeling pretty miserable. Any advice? 15. Congratulations on the start of your journey!! I'm currently 11 days post op and so so happy with it! The day after the surgery was definitely the worst for me pain wise, but it's true what they say about walking! Walk walk walk as much as you can! And of course they will give pain meds to help take the edge of, so you will definitely be able to get through it. My doctor also has me on a two week post op liquid diet which can at times be tricky because of the cravings, but once you see the difference it makes it gets so much easier!
