  1. I have my surgery Monday February 20th, and this diet is no joke. I just hope that my liver has shrunk because this was a hard hard process and I don't wanna be turned around because it didn't shrink enough ... ugh!!!!

I doubt that will happen! I cheated on day 5 but have been on track every other day, lost 13 lbs so far! Where are you getting surgery? I'm going to Mexico.

  2. I have a 10 day pre-op & 2 day liquid only instructions. I went to town my last day before pre-op!!! Hot dogs, chips & queso for lunch, chocolate chip Cookies (freshly baked!) dipped in milk as a snack. dinner was white rice & ribeye steak. Dessert was a pint of ice cream. That all sounds SOOOOOO gross now but I don't regret it. 'Twas a great last meal day!

I cheated day 5 of pre-op. My kids (5&7) wanted to go to McDonalds. I impulsively got myself a meal for dinner. I emotionally felt terrible after, though my body felt fine. I cheated myself! But every other moment I have been fully disciplined. Not one snack outside of my 2 Protein Shakes & 4 oz Protein w veggies for dinner.

  3. I see so many of us share the same fears, complications and/or not waking up. I'm a single mother of four, two are basically grown the other two, not so much. I lost my husband almost 13 years ago, so my fears are exasperated by the thought that they will have no parent left is something goes horribly wrong. But I've researched the stats, and the pros outweigh the cons and I put my faith in God that the worse case scenario will not happen. We all want to be healthy, so we are taking steps to be so.

Wow, you've got yourself under a lot of pressure. Any surgery is a hard thing to decide on. I'm sure you're choosing this path for the right reasons. Claim that healthy bright future, you deserve it!

And that's why I'm not telling a lot of people! My husband is the only family member that knows. Doesn't help that I'm the only overweight person in my family...

  5. Nutritionist gave me a diet but no Protein Shakes or whatsoever [emoji20] I'm following the diet but its not like yours and im wondering why?

There could be so many reasons! Maybe you have a lower BMI (mine is 47) or just Doctor preference. My Dr lives in the US but the practice is in Mexico, maybe he's just extra cautious because we don't see him as long.

  6. Congratulations on hanging in there. I was just at my support group meeting last night & people were saying how hard this step can be so it's nice to hear you're making it through with ease. Best of wishes to you during surgery as well ??

That's sweet, thank you!!! I've tried juicing before, up to 3 weeks at a time, so this almost feels like cheating eating a meal everynight lol.

  7. I'm getting surgery in Tijuana in 10 days. I know it's not shady as I've done tons of research and a friend did the exact procedure with the same provider. My fear though is something going wrong while I'm far from home, and not having it covered later on by my US insurance. However after discussing with my primary Dr he said most surgeons don't want to "fix" another's because of how much work is involved, no matter where they are located. Kind of "damned if you do damned if you don't" so I'm taking my chances!

  8. Im 11 days away from my surgery, but not doing any pre op [emoji20] what are you doing for pre op guys

Why no pre-op? Was it discussed at all? My surgeon has a high Protein low sugar/fat diet. Helps shrink the liver and prepares your organs for surgery. Length of time depends on your BMI. It's a Protein Shake for Breakfast, lunch and for snack (only if needed) and 3-4 oz of low protein with 1-2 cups of veggies/greens for dinner.
