  1. I’m 12 months post gastric bypass and am now at target weight. I exercise loads so am eating around 2000 calories a day to maintain weight. I tend to eat lots in the evening as I’m hungry post exercise but am waking through the night around 3 hours after my last food with hot flushes which have been diagnosed as late dumping syndrome. I’m not eating high sugar so am confused as to why this is happening. Has anyone else experienced this and if so have you managed to solve it? Thanks

Brain hasn’t caught up with body

Omg I completely understand where you’re coming from. I’ve reached my target weight but after years of trying to lose weight I’m struggling to allow myself to stop. It’s a real mental battle that I’m facing every day. People tell me I’m too thin now. Feel like I can’t win whatever I do. My head sees the skinny me but my heart is still that of an fat person who suffered for years. I think it’s partly down to the excess skin I’ve got. Maybe if I could get that removed, I may be able to learn to love my thin body ... x

    Excess skin removal

Ah glad it went well for you. How long was the recovery time afterwards. I exercise everyday at the moment and am scared to lose that momentum but obviously after the skin removal I wouldn’t be able to do much for a while. Also how is the scarring? Thanks Ruth

    Excess skin

Hi just wondering if anyone had had excess skin removal surgery ? I’m considering it but am terrified! Thanks
  5. Hi has anyone been through surgery for excess skin removal? Would love to know how you got on. Thanks
  6. It does ease off. I slept sitting up for about 2 weeks then managed on my back for a bit and was back on my side after 3 weeks. Those first few weeks are hard but rest assured that it does get better
  7. Ah that's brill. Thanks for the advice and well done on the weight loss. I'm going to try increasing my Calorie intake and see what happens. Thanks
  8. Ps I told my in laws and a few people that I had gall stones removed to explain me having an op
  9. I told very few people. People just say such negative things to you about weight loss surgery. At the end of the day it's your business not theirs and you shouldn't worry about keeping it secret x
  10. Hi do you get a good weight loss with that many calories? I'm exercising every day at the moment and am so hungry all the time but I'm scared to eat more in case I stop losing or worse still put it on. Thanks

    Working 5 days post op

I had my op on a Wednesday and was working from home again 5 days later with no problems. All the best for your surgery
  12. I'm 4.5 months after my bypass and I'm hungry all the time. I am exercising a lot but even so I'm finding it really hard to control the hunger ! I crave rubbish foods like crisps (chips). It's so hard to control. Would welcome any advice ....
  13. I had a bypass in Feb 2017 and I've been great with no complications. Best decision I've ever made although I do agree that you also need a positive mental attitude and embrace the changes that are made. I love making sure that I do 10000 steps a day which is the complete opposite to how I was pre op !

    Any Apple watch users?

I love my Apple Watch. It's a massive help and very satisfying to see the number of steps add up. I set reminders on it for my calcium and vitamins
  15. My surgeon told me it was due to an internal stitch. It took about 3 weeks for it to go
