    Surgery Date Pushed Up!

Congratulations! I put all of my nervous energy into cleaning and organizing all of my cupboards, cabinets, drawers and closets. It was a ton of work and I'm so happy I did it. My house was so clean and organized when I got home. New me, new surroundings. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. My husband has a big ole lifted truck that I struggled to get into. We had hydraulic step rails added that drop down when the door is open and tuck back under when the doors are closed. You can't even see them when the door is closed to the truck looks better anyway. We love them! Cost $1400. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. I've stalked too. I haven't stressed about it because I trust the process. Just waiting. But, tried on a skirt yesterday that has never fit (bought right before surgery). It fit! Put on some pants, too big. So big in fact that they drug the ground. Pants being too big is a first. I've felt like I was only losing on top but finally the bottom is catching up! Shopping in your closet

I went closet shopping and realized I may have liked that stuff 10 yrs ago but I sure don't like it now! Tossed just about everything. I kept a dress and a few pair of pants. I can't wait to completely replace everything in my closet. As is, as soon as something gets loose, it goes in the donate bag. I refuse to walk around in baggy clothes that hide my shape anymore. 5. Patience. Once I decided I wanted this surgery I was ready. Turns out, it's a process. Lots of tests and appointments. Took three months to finally get surgery. In retrospect, the time flew. I used every minute of that pre op time to prepare tho. Studied everything I could for success and followed the low carb 2 week pre op diet for 3 whole months. Dr said my liver was perfect! What Was The Final Straw

Falling through a rotten deck. It probably would have happened to anyone who had stepped on that board. But, it happened to the fat girl. At a party. And because my leg only went through one board I was stuck until someone ripped out the adjoining board. It was mortifying. Not to mention painful. I am actually still bruised on my calf and this happened at the beginning of September. Now I'm 2 weeks post op. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Syntrax nectar

I got the sample pack someone else mentioned. It's fine. I like premier Protein fine too. I just look at protein as the fuel my body needs to be strong and heal. I dont have to love it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Keto

I am. Even in purée. Not high fat necessarily but I'm not limiting them either. I started 3 months pre op and find I feel so much better and I'm losing great. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. Actually looks good. Just pureed chicken in a blender?? How do you feel after eating it? I purée in an old baby food processor. Blender or small food processor would work. Then I hear in the microwave. I really like this dish. I've had it a couple times during purée. Feel great after eating. I'm not sensitive to spice.

    After how much time ....

I mostly slept the first 4 days because of anesthesia and narcotic pain meds. I got off narcotics as fast as I could. After that I did daily outings. When my core starts to feel fatigued to take a break. Yesterday I went to a concert in Seattle. Today I even went shopping at the mall. I plan my food, Protein and Water carefully so I don't find myself out with nothing to fuel me. I am 12 days post op. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. Not quite overnight. My dr does a 23 hr hold. I got to leave at 5 am. He does same day if you don't have sleep apnea. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. I took three weeks off. I'm half way thru that time now and I'm thinking I'll go back early. I'm a bit bored at home. I work at home on Friday and that went fine. I have a desk job. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Pizza & Beer for work...must avoid!

I gave up pizza crust pre op and just eat the top. I find I prefer it! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. I'm 10 days post op. I have lost 45 lbs between pre op low carb diet and post op liquid to purée diet. In spite of a 45 lb loss, I am still the same pant size! I've lost two shirt sizes. My face looks thinner. I can't wear my wedding ring because it's too loose. My bra cups are too loose. I look funny in my same size pants because my legs are thinner. It's just so unfair! I'm just whining. I know someday the mid girth will give up the fight and start shrinking. Meanwhile, anyone else experience this kind of loss? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Question about Drains & Foley's

I had my drain removed today. Such a relief! It was pinch ( when he snipped the stitch), weird while he pulled it out, then pinch as it came out. Took 5 seconds maybe. The relief that's it's out however is the best! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  20. I just waited and told my dad after it was all done. I'm grown and I dont need his permission or even blessing. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Stage 2!

I start purée today too. So excited. I have on hand retried Beans, canned white chicken chili and lentils. I'll purée and add broth to thin these. As soon as I can get to store I'll be getting avocado, and I want to make a ricotta, puréed turkey Italian sausage and marinara bake. I'm also going to make a broccoli cheddar soup. All these things are allowed by my dr and nut. I'm pretty excited Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Pre-surgery jitters

I'm a band to sleeve revision also. My sleeve surgery was 12/27/2016. My surgeon does but do the revision in I've surgery. My band was removed in November. That was a glorious day. I hated that thing. I can't believe I waited 10 yrs to get it removed. So far very happy with the sleeve. The only bad note of this whole process is learning I am sensitive to aspartame. It gave me a migraine post op. Terrible. My way of dealing with nerves was to start doing everything I could pre op to prepare myself. I started the low carb, high Protein diet back in September. I started drinking 100 oz of Water a day. I started regular exercise. Then I cleaned and organized my house. No regrets at all. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  23. I'm a lap band to sleeve revision. With my lap band, I struggled with solid Proteins. They would get stuck and be uncomfortable to the point of vomiting. I learned to rely on crackers, chips, creamy things. All the way up to 378 lbs. I ate around the band. I suspect you can eat around the sleeve too. I'd go see my nutritionist asap and find solutions that will help you not hinder your progress. I'd even rely on Protein drinks before crackers and such. Treat those things like poison. That's my experience anyway. Dee Dee
  24. This is pretty much my exact experience. My surgery was12/27/2016. Gas ex strips, walking and Water got me through it. Walking is really the best thing you can do to move the gas.
  25. No regrets at all. My last meal was a salad.
