  1. Our comments aren't welcome. Just hang out in the vets forum and high five each other I guess since advice from people that have lost most of their weight and have stuck around to help others isn't wanted by new people.

I'm not a vet yet, no. I'm a noob. But I took what you and others had to say very respectfully and I have responded with grace.

So you're comments a very much welcome just not the parts where you sound like you're on a condescending power trip about new people like me that ventured to try half slice of cheese before they ought to have or the girl who tried a broccoli cheese Soup. I took this rant seriously and have chosen to move on without issue.

Newbies like myself are great and everyone learns from mistakes (or they die ultimately if not). It's simply work in progress for everyone.

Everyone has been instructed differently and adhered to them in their own way. It is rightful to be concerned and upset but at the same time serves no good if we're gonna be harsh to one another and make assumptions about one another and about one representing all.

    Peace man, peace.

  2. I wiped out all my credits on Audible.com in the first month. I'd put a good book on an MP3 player and start walking. Started with light weights in the gym after week four was done.

I'm guessing you have been sort of sidelined by your weight from doing many physical activities? If so, start dreaming while you are walking for the next few weeks about things you want to do (snorkel, ski, run, yoga). One of the things that happens to people who just have not been able to do things because of their weight is they forget what is possible. You get limited by an image we have of ourselves. Well it's going to change. So start dreaming...and dream HUGE.

    For sure!!

I'm bound to want to go sky diving for my 26th birthday next year once I'm under the weight limit!

I tried yoga once while existing as overweight and while it's not impossible it was not fun!

Some of us care more about strangers than, they do about themselves.

If they don't care about their life and health why should we.

People think that this is a game or just another diet. Cheating immediately post op can kill you.

I had a friend that had RNY 12 and advanced her food and ended up on a feeding tube.

People on here don't believe that fat meat is greasy.

Let them learn the hard way. I'm over it.

If I die I die. I hope half deli slice of cheese gets me on 1000 ways to die!

lol but there will definitely not be any errors on my part after this and very hopefully if nothing comes of this in a weeks time I can continue to be lighthearted as I am always fully of mischief and giggles. I had to be a risk taker to get the surgery in the first place. Now the steaks are raised by a just a little bit.

  4. I'm sorry for your loss.

I have big time guilt and your concern or expression of annoyance speaks to me if it's worth anything. I'm for sure going to fess up to my doctor on my follow up about my half slice of cheese at day 5. I don't think it's ok for me to cheat anymore just cause I chewed really good and seem to have digested it fine and I don't condone anyone else do the same. I was just posting honestly because this has been very difficult! But no it's not worth dying from complications.

And well what's done is done, at least your cautionary tale is a driving factor in my will not to stray again and in fact you may have saved my life in doing so.

I'm on EST, so it's 4:30am here and I have to be at the hospital at 12:30 today. I feel the same way. I can't sleep. What couple of hours that I did get in, I was having crazy dreams. Good Luck to you and speedy recovery.

Good luck to you too! And I guess if you're not sleeping now you definitely will be later today/ or at least you'll be knocked out.

I'm a few days post op and can't sleep myself cause I'm caught up reading about sleeve related things!

  6. How I overcame the fear of wls was realizing that I'm a risk taker, you have to be one if you're going to do this! And also that you are not alone. Hopefully you have your loved ones on board and definitely your medical team behind you as well as all of us on BariatricPal.

Take comfort in knowing you are helping yourself to live better and longer and happier too.

  7. Thank you all for your kind words. I'm excited for a new beginning, but nervous for the surgery. I think it has to do with those that support it and family members that do not.

Well tune any unsupporting people out.

What matters most is that you support you. It's up to you ultimately. You're doing something really good for yourself and not for anyone else.

That's what I realized myself although I'm grateful I have my whole immediate fam on board anyway. It felt so good to do this for me knowing it's a big leap of faith in the right direction.

  8. Hey gals,

So I've had this issue ever since I got my first period because (according to my doctors) I've been overweight. Although I wasn't that overweight as a teenager, I had gained into my twenties and let me tell you, I have never had a consistent period. Maybe a dozen times over the years. I'm 24 now and I'm at 275. It will only regulate if I take birth control but I'm not on it right now because I'm not sexually active for the time being and I also don't want to have it mess with me trying to lose weight.

Had anyone else been in the same boat and did it come back post op after significant weight loss?

People always tell me check my thyroid but its fine. Wondering if I have PCOS or something. I also have thin hair which sucks!
