  1. Congrats on your surgery!!!
  2. Same question! How can you join a forum?
  3. I so had the same craving for crackers - day 18 VSG post op and in purée phase as well. I like the idea of using a slice of cucumber - when I get to that point. I've been hungry - part of me thinks that's a good thing, and that my body is recovering well. But scares me because the sleeve is supposed to reduce the hunger hormone. I know my diet is in a state of flux - so now probably is not a great time to make any assumptions. I'm hoping when I transition to regular foods and a regular schedule, hunger and cravings will level out.
  4. Best wishes! You'll do great!!!!
  5. Just over 2 weeks post op. For me drinking improved each day. But I felt like you right after surgery. Tiny sips - hang in there. It may not seem like much but every sip counts!!!
  6. Hi! I started at about the same stats - which puts us in the 35-40 BMI range. And same for me - many years of trying to lose weight. With the comorbidity diseases stacking up, I then considered surgery after discussing with my doctors. I'd say it was about a year before I took action and went to the required information session and kicked off the process. Move a head 4 months and I had the sleeve done on Jan 12, and no regrets so far. Want to be here for my kids, and grandkids someday!!!
  7. I'm 2 weeks post op. I'm feeling some kind of hunger. Starting purée so may maybe getting some food now after 3 weeks of liquids, maybe that will help. But I do think there's head hunger in there.
  8. That's a good idea, although you kinda already have to do that with the preop diet yeah? Or did you start before that even? Yes, I started substituting some meals with Protein shakes before even starting the pre op diet. Nothing formal - just here and there. In some cases I found it to be a real convenience when on the go - I would grab a ready-made Premier Protein shake.
  9. It's a journey and pre op diet not too bad. I started sampling Protein shakes early on, and it seem to help me with the transition to pre op and post op diet. All the appointments, information and tests seemed a little overwhelming at times, but take it day by day!!
  10. Congrats on you surgery date!!! What a great milestone!!!
  11. Sleeved 1/12. I'm glad I started drinking Protein drinks off and on for meals, and taking post op vitamins before the surgery. Allowed time to try different kinds, and it didn't seem so dramatic when I started the pre op diet and now in the post op diet. Also, get your house / errands in order (as best you can) before surgery - need to rest and let your body heal.
  12. Philadelphia area. Sleeved Jan 12th.
  13. I could only manage very tiny sips after surgery. 12 days out for me, and I can say it just takes time - gets easier day by day. Taking normal sips now. I don't remember which day exactly it happened, but it was gradual. But it made me so stressed because I too was a huge water drinker. Hang in there - every sip counts!!!!
  14. Sleeved Jan 12th. Had my follow up with dr, so far so good. Got approved to start purée phase tomorrow. I'm nervous about leaving my liquids only phase, since has been going much better .
  15. I'm starting purée tomorrow. Sleeved 1/12.
  16. Sleeved 1/12. Had same doubts before surgery. Do not regret it. You are in the home stretch - hang in there!!!
