  1. Awe no sorry about the headaches, I hear it gets better after the first week. I think I'm going to try to do one to two weeks on my own for that reason. Even though I wasn't told to. I feel safer knowing there won't be a fatty liver in the way. Best of luck to you in your liquid diet!
  2. Thank you! Congrats to you too! One week sounds good too! I'm so excited for us!

Ultimate motivation for mothers of toddlers

Yay! Good for you! I have two LO's a new 3-year-old and a soon to be (Feb 2nd) 2 year old. I'm waiting on my surgery date, but help with my LO's is what I've been most worried about. People keep telling me I'll need help with them and all this for two weeks. I don't really have family who would be willing to help out like that. I hope I'll be ok after the first week. I plan to send them to their dad a few days, hopefully that is plenty of time.

I was originally planning on only taking 1-2 weeks off, but I think I'm going to try to do 4-6 weeks off now. My new doctor recommends that much time. I'm just wondering if I'll qualify for disability for that time off?

Same I did the six consecutive months and that's where it was a different doctor the six one was with a different doctor and then finally now I have a new surgeon. And they were friends and there was documentation about this weight and diet. But no actual diet plan I guess I don't know what it is that they're requesting that she says they usually ask for. Sent from my LG-K550 using the BariatricPal App How funny my new one knows my original one too. I loved my original surgeon but he didn't have the connections for me to do the upper endoscopy and the psych eval last year he was trying to get it done last year. So I sought out a different doctor and I saw him once, and then we were about to submit to the insurance after we have done the psych eval and the upper endoscopy I find out that they're out of network for my insurance. So here we are now I found another doctor who is amazing completely blown away he has so much information on the surgery has YouTube videos and blogs and it's just so informative. And we're going to try to submit and say I have all the paperwork that has all the weight documentation and all the diet information in there I don't think that there's any reason for them to reject it but I don't know how it all works Sent from my LG-K550 using the BariatricPal App

Hi.I have this insurance too PPO, we are submitting tomorrow. My surgeon's office said 7-10 days for approval. The only thing that worries me is the girl at this office said I was supposed to have had 6 months worth of supervised monitored dieting. I mean there are notes on all my paperwork from my last surgeon as well as notes from two months prior from my general doctor on things we were trying. Anyone else had to do this diet thing too?? I hope I don't get rejected. Sent from my LG-K550 using the BariatricPal App
  12. Hmmm... but I heard it's good to not lose too fast, less loose skin no? I want to try to lose 20-40 lbs the first mo.. that would put me at my avg weight for most of my adult life. I was in the 180s till I had more babies.
  13. I'm 35, 5'2 and 220lb. I had my consult on tue. My doc makes you go through all the NUT counciling, psych eval and everything your insurance requires before you get the consult. I am hoping they have already submitted my stuff to the ins. They told me to plan on anywhere from 3 to 5 weeks. I'm so anxious! What surgery are you having? I'm having the RNY. Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App I am having the sleeve. They told me we would know in 7 days if they approved me. The only worry they have is none of the other surgeons I went to said anything about the 6 months of dieting. I mean there are tons of notes in the doc visits reg dieting as well as from my primary 3 months prior. But not a set plan. Hopefully this doesn't make them reject my claim. I'm anxious too! I was considering only taking 1-2 weeks off of work, but if I get approved for disability. I think I might just do the 4-6 weeks. It'll be nice to have that time to recover and get re-antiquated with eating. Plus, more of a wow factor from the people at work I won't see for that long.

Three surgeons later, 6 months later

Yeah, but I had the same insurance when I was trying to do it with the last surgeons tok. Just strange that they didn't mention it. Or start that process. Sent from my LG-K550 using the BariatricPal App
  15. Wow amazing. Great results everyone! I was originally going to only take a week off from work. But not I'm considering doing 4-6 weeks to make sure I have the right mindset and am more myself. This is exciting to me because I'll go back to work a new person. My avg weight most of my adult life had been at the 180s then I had two more babies the last 3 years (2014 & 2015). That's when I went up past the 200s. I then learned about the sleeve and started to eat things that I knew I would not be able to enjoy after surgery and went overboard which is why I'm here at 220. I was around the 200-210 when I started this journey. Sent from my LG-K550 using the BariatricPal App
