  1. My start weight was 240 I'm now 190! That picture of me is at my second home the YMCA lol I am doing Water cardo exercise in the pool and we do use weights on Thursdays is water blast class that's like a high dose of water zumba! 30 minutes before each class I run on the treadmill for 2 miles and then I go into the weight room and lift weights! I'm at the Y 5 days a week for about 3 to 4 hours a day! I rest on Saturdays and Sundays! Oh by the way I'm 60 years young [emoji1434]emoji1434]

Keep up the good work... exercise is key!!!

  2. There is just something so peaceful about losing weight and knowing that you have a permanent tool to help you forever. Finally having control is such a new concept for me. Getting rid of clothes in my closet confidently knowing that I'm done with that life. My brain is changing and I am so positive now that I've got this. This has always been a problem for me and it's held me back in so many countless ways that I had to sit down and think about it all. The list of ways I held myself back was so long and it made me sad. There is such shame in losing and gaining your whole life and I have lost and gained MY ENTIRE LIFE! I know no one outside of us on this journey can understand why, like REALLY why, we did this. This is so mental and I'm not stupid enough to think this is just a weight thing. This is no different than a drug addiction and we have a reason (a different reason for all of us I'm sure) that we do it and our brains need to transition as well! What a beautiful day it was today as I went through my clothes and confidently tossed them for donation. I'm never going back! I'm growing as I shrink and I like it!

  3. Those are questions I will be asking my surgeon tomorrow at my post op check. I am almost 4 weeks out. I'd like to start using some scar reduction cream if possible. Four of my incisions have health perfect and have left nothing but a thin straight line. I have a thick scab on one... and another never closed... just a gaping hole that has now scabbed over.
I'll be needing a TT eventually so I'm hoping that these less than stellar ones can be taken care of then.

Andrea What did your surgeon say about incisions and scaring

  4. Technically they don't want people who just had surgery to donate blood but if they didn't ask about that, no problem. No more donations for a while though.. at least till your 3 and 6 months post op blood test results are in

Middus, I told them I had surgery & when, but you are right I probably shouldn't of done it without asking my surgeon [emoji848]

  5. What a great read.... thank you for the inspiration! The pictures are unbelievable! Definitely be proud of your self and pat yourself on the back. I am in my 3rd week post-op (surgery was 2/8/17) I am a Fitbit user and it definitely challenges me! I am also looking for a sport to play that I will enjoy it will probably be tennis, hiking and maybe kayaking who would of thunk it[emoji6] I'm not there yet but those are some goals!
