  5. Hey my July peeps! I had my 2 week post op visit today. I was sleeved on July 21. My starting weight in Jan was 274, surgery weight 263 and today,,,,,,,,,, (drum roll) 253!!!!! Its 10 lbs in 10 days, yeah i will take that. Gosh i cant stop smiling!! 21lbs gone. Thank you Jesus. Woo woo i am so excited!!!! I have no problems eating or drinking water and protein requirements are at 30 for this week. My Doc goes slowly upward to a total only of 45. I have been drinking at least 60oz of water a day. I was always a water drinker only. I feel good except for pain that I am having because I had a lot of scar tissue due to my previous surgeries. He even had to do 6 insicions instead of three. But i am walking and all my incisions are healed. I will be in my pool tomorrow starting slow. I have lymphedema in my legs and the pool helps with the swelling. Another wonderful thing is that i am off all diabetic meds !!!!!!!!! Oh yeah!! Can you tell i am busting???? (Seinfeld: George: I am busting Jerry, busting!!!!) God Bless my woderful surgeon and his team. It does feel as great as everyone says. Hang in there July peeps.....we gonna do great!!!!!

  10. I saw that movie and fo believe plant based diet is the way to go. Plant based is even recommended for reversing diabetes. I favor vegetarian over vegan because I have seen people who are vegan eat cereal and other sugar based crap foods in the name of bring vegan. One if my favorite sayings is " too many people counting calories and not enough counting chemicals " Fruits and veggies do not contain artificial chemicals and chemicals are a big part of why our society is so sick The documentary "forks over knives " is about a surgeon who reversed heart disease with a vegetarian diet. It is an excellent movie. So is "Hungry for change". These are all on Netflix or hulu. My husband and I drink green juice and have for 4 years. We both have seen the positive effects on our health from green juice. I had surgery on 7/21 and we both are going vegetarian but with fish or shrimp only. 11. I am obsessed with 600lb life and the where are they now 600lb. Having lost mobility, ( I move , but slow like an 80yr old lady) having the health oroblems, at 276lbs, I felt like a mini 600lber. I could totally relate to their loss of daily life as mine is not that bad but I could see it happening in the future. It was one of the most motivational shows that made me want to think about wls. Also their success inspired me. The ones who went on to do skin surgery and regain their lives. It made me think , If they could do this, so can I . I also watch alot of food documentaries which helped my husband and I change our good choices Forks over knives, food matters and hungry for change. Looking at food differently helps immensely. I said , it feels like it isn't going to ever get here. But it did and the last week before surgery I really got excited. I loved reading success stories here and reading all the joys of being on the losers bench. On the morning of surgery when my Doc came in , I said, do you know what we doing today? He said yes. I said no you don't, today we birth a bellydancer and I am so excited!! He laughed and said, I love that!!! Now I am on day 8 and I am down 7 lbs! !! got my spot on the losers bench and I will go dust a spot for you. It's going to be ok. You will do great and surgery is so fast. 22. I will say a prayer for ya'll. I did mine on the 21st. Today is day 6. I think the worst part was the gas but each day gets better. I also woke up wondering if they really did anything because I just had some bandaid on my belly...lol Take each day one at a time. Give it to God and when you wake up each morning start your day by saying, today will be better than yesterday. Because it will be. [emoji4] We the July 2017 surgery group will all be here for the July 2018 surgery group and we will be saying to them. Hang on , it's ok, take it one day at a time. In the end its all worth it. How do I know that? Because if any of you are like me uou have been reading forums, watching YouTube and watching others journeys. No its not easy, but we knew this going in. Buy they all say the same thing. It's worth it! Say a prayer, give it God then come join me on the losers bench,,, it's great to be here!! Hugs to you all. 23. I became physically disabled 6 yrs ago after a deathly bout of pneumonia ...my weight has hindered my recovery even now 6 yrs down the road. I told no one but my husband and my niece who had the surgery. I was sleeved on July 21. I really don't know how I will react until I am faced either with support or with negativity. My main answer right now is" yes I had wls, it has been very difficult to live in this disabled body. I am hoping for a better quality of life. " It can be said nicely or with the venom of a cobra.....you decide. This is my life and my body. I owe no one anything. Get on board and support me or f**k off.
