    Who's having surgery in march

oh I'm out and about, just can't bend over and not supposed to carry more than 10 lbs. Cannot believe you're back to work. I'm also not driving til next week when I go to my 2 week post op. Interesting how variant the post op rules are.

    Taking meds after surgery

I'm taking gall bladder meds for 6 mos post op. They must be opened and sprinkled in my protein drink (not on applesauce yet). Also my bp meds are crushed and added to one of my "shakes" each day. I can do a chewable Flintstone vitamin, so have one of those twice/day. good luck!!!

    Who's having surgery in march

Hey March surgery peeps! I'm 8 days post op. Feeling better and better each day. Just a bit stir crazy with the limitations so I rotate through the house...walk a bit outside, putter around putting away/dealing with clutter, sit in chair and fiddle on laptop....and always fit in a nap. LOL Anxious to get staples out next week. The incision areas are itchy from healing. Would love to slather my belly with lotion. lol My hubs coordinated all my "meals" and meds last week, but this week I'm on my own. Started using my fitbit again, no where near 10k goal, but I like to see my activity. Also started logging my protein/foods on myfitnesspal again so I can make sure I have enough. He was using a spreadsheet (bless his heart)

Has anyone kept it a secret?

I've told very few people. This will not be something I put on Facebook BLAST! I enlisted help from friends I knew had WLS for support, I told a few lovely friends who love me no matter what......A sister knows as she and I are taking this journey together (she's a month ahead of me). I have yet to tell my parents. We live away from each other and wanted to tell them AFTER it had taken place and in person. Sooooo that will be happening soon. My kids only know that I've had a "procedure" that will help me be more fit and active in their lives. This is private...and I'm private. You cannot unring this bell. Tell the right people who can be supportive.

    What is your pre-op diet?

My surgery is Monday. The only pre-op diet that I have to do is clear liquids these two days before surgery, then the lovely bowel prep liquids the day before. I can have jello and broth, gatorade, clear tea/coffee (no milk), etc. Pre-surgery date, I had 6 mos of weight management through my primary doctor. I logged food on myfitnesspal and turned logs in to the nutritionist at the bariatrics surgery center. I lost about 16 lbs in the 6 mos.
